Beatific is a sweeping epic that the tells seven fascinating stories of one Celtic family across centuries. Over the centuries the family endure the madness of slavery, heartbreaking tragedies and heroic triumphs. This captivating saga begins during the imposing era of 5th century Ireland in the days of a young Saint Patrick. The journey continues in England in the placid, yet tumultuous times of Saints Arilda and Cuthbert, then across the North Sea to the medieval age of Saint’s Hildegard of Bingen and Gertrude the Great. Into the Renaissance, the family emerges in Southern Germany in a tiny town along the Rhine River in the era of Saint Vincent DePaul. The journey makes its stunning conclusion in the modern times of 1865 during the miraculous occurrences of Saint Bernadette of Lourdes, culminating with the family’s triumphant arrival on the shores of America. I am an author of fiction, science fiction, historical fiction and poetry. I have written eleven novels and two that are not yet published. I also have two collections of poetry. I just released the historical fiction epic called Beatific. In 2020 I released the sequel to my first book, Legend Upon the Cane, called Legend at Lanana Creek.

I started out writing poetry over 25 years ago, but started centering more on writing novels for over 13 years now. I love to travel when I can and in writing I try to create endearing characters that ordinary, everyday people can relate to. I love to tell stories and put my imagination to work.

Never before has the number of abandoned houses been so high in our country. Never before has the age of our homes been so old in this country. The ramifications of not dealing with this problem has prevented an entire group of people from realizing their first large scale generational wealth transfer.

This book will prove:

1. The increased generational wealth reduction for Black American families because of the age of their homes.
2. The point of diminishing equity for a low income homeowners erodes all wealth.
3. Black American family wealth creation is degraded by an exponential amount positively correlated with the age of the home value.
4. Homeownership is the best way to create wealth.
5. The actual life span of a home matters.
6. Black American families have been forced into old homes.
7. A projects viability to target this consumer with a new single family home development.
8. A potential solution to solve the problem of poor quality homes effect on wealth creation.
9. The abandonment effect on cities.

The equity creation is substantiality lower on older homes and the cost to maintain is much higher. The age of the property erodes the equity created for a homeowner the longer it is held. The cost of maintenance prevents these households from saving be other means. Most wealth of low income households is the primary residence. The cost to maintain is too high to keep the property in livable condition. Further exacerbating the problem is a flawed appraisal system for residential homes which overvalues homes at a disproportionate rate because of the appraisal metrics used for valuation.

Analyzing the current appraisal system objectively, to find a solution to the most devastating cause of blight in neighborhoods’ and the prevention of wealth creation of Black Americans trapped in old homes throughout the legacy cities of America. Is the American Dream attainable for all Americans or just those with the newest homes?
