Natalie, her daughter, makes it obvious that she doesn’t want to spend time with her. When Winnie has an accident, Natalie is faced with the prospect of having to be more involved. Rosie a divorced mother, is trying to get back into employment and ends up working with Winnie as a care worker. As the story unfolds we learn more about the complex relationships within each character’s family. Will they be able to repair them in time or will it be too late?
The reader sees through the different voices of the women what it is to be them at that particular stage in their life. The readers will recognise a Winnie and/or Rosie and/or Natalie and will be able to identify to some degree personally with one of them. The characters struggle with various challenges that are pertinent to ‘womanhood’ and older people in today’s society.

I am 45 year old mother of three and this is my debut novel. Rosie’s Choice is based heavily on my experience as a working mother and the difficulties I faced finding a reasonably paid job that fitted around my children. In his early years, Kent began asking, “How can people in our time actually experience the lifestyle of Joy in community promised by Jesus?” His search for answers led him from studies at York College, through a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a master’s in New Testament at Harding University, and finally to a doctorate on Spiritual Nurture Systems at the University of Dubuque. Along the way, he led several new and established churches.
In 1991, Kent joined the faculty of Abilene Christian University and began training domestic and overseas mission teams. After a year in Oxford, England in 2002, he became the founding director of ACU’s graduate internship in missional leadership, the Missionary Residency for North America (MRNA). In 2008, Kent co-founded LK10 where he serves as overseer and Ecosystem Champion.
Currently, Kent directs ACU’s Apprenticeship in Regenerative Culture (ARC). He and his wife Karen have five children and eleven grandchildren. They enjoy gardening, writing, research, travel and their shared work with the Eden Community of coaching students and consulting with new kingdom community initiatives across North America.
