The Philosophical Detective by Bruce Hartman
About The Philosophical Detective by Bruce Hartman
Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1967. Nick Martin has just started graduate school when he’s dragooned into serving as the driver, guide and confidant of a blind poet by the name of Jorge Luis Borges. Together they must address an extraordinary series of crimes and the equally baffling conundrums of literature and philosophy, including Zeno’s paradoxes, the mind/body problem, and the mysteries of destiny, personal identity and artistic creation. Nick plays the parts of Watson, Sancho Panza, Dante and Stephen Daedalus, and before the story ends he hears the last tale of Scheherazade and finds the love of his life. Forty-five years later, struggling with pain and grief, he looks back with wonder at the magical year when he wandered into the labyrinth and took his first steps to self-understanding.
Lighthearted but deeply serious, The Philosophical Detective is a unique journey into the visionary world of a genius.
Kirkus Reviews called The Philosophical Detective “…a suspenseful, pitch-perfect novel with an unlikely lead detective: a fictionalized version of iconic Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986)….. An intelligent, original detective novel.”
The Kindle book will be $0.99 on Amazon – December 5 through December 11, 2020

The Human Spring Approach to Thoracic Outlet Syndrome by Dr. James Stoxen
If you have headaches, neck pain, neck stiffness, back spasms, muscle pain, back pain, shoulder pain, and pain between the shoulder blades, numbness and tingling, you may have thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS).
TOS is caused by compression of the neck, upper back, rib cage and the shoulder that squeeze the blood vessels and nerves that pass from the chest and neck through the thoracic tunnel into the arm.
TOS is one of the most controversial conditions in medicine. For most patients there thoracic outlet syndrome is overlooked and misdiagnosed leaving them suffering needlessly in chronic pain for months and even years. Then one day, someone says, “Could it be thoracic outlet syndrome?”
Over the last 30 years, studies confirm that doctor’s knowledge of the basic anatomy has dipped below a safe and acceptable level.

A Tale of Two Fathers by Timothy Powell, Jr.

About Featured Book: A Tale of Two Fathers by Timothy Powell, Jr.
Do you have trouble connecting to God because of past abuse? Timothy Powell, Jr. sure did, but God helped him overcome, and He wants to help you overcome, too.
A Tale of Two Fathers is a spirituality-focused memoir contrasting his abusive earthly father to the goodness and love of God the Father. On His Own Terms by Doug Shidell
About On His Own Terms by Doug Shidell
Delone Taylor didn’t belong. Raised on welfare by a solo mother in small town Wisconsin, he rebelled against the labels, the charity and the assumptions. He didn’t fit in at the University, either, where he carefully shielded his past from friends and strangers alike. He didn’t know if he belonged anywhere- even in the shell he’d built around himself.
The bicycle was his escape. It didn’t judge or ask questions, but he couldn’t ride away from his past, including an ancient past that preceded civilization itself.
When a singular woman from a wealthy family pierces his shell, Delone is forced to confront the one thing he can control; how he navigates an immovable past in a fluid present.
Bikes, glaciers, the Vietnam War, and the Driftless Area of Wisconsin come together in a coming-of-age tale that explores the relationship between forces beyond our control and our reactions to them.

Doug Shidell has been riding bikes and writing about bicycling since 1970. My favorite riding is in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin, a unique and beautiful landscape. The area opened my eyes to the massive forces that formed the land we live on. And that landscape, in turn, has dictated where we build our cities, layout our highways, escape for recreation and raise families. It’s humbling to realize how much those forces shape our lives today.
The bicycle has given me that perspective. It is a unique vehicle, capable of covering enough distance to get the larger perspective of the landscape, but slow enough to take in the details.

A.D. Hay is a passionate bibliophile and can usually be found reading a book, and that book will most likely be a thriller. Amelia’s love of reading stems back to when her mother used to bribe her as a small child, with a little golden book for good behaviour during grocery shopping.
At the age of eight, she wrote her first play. She was super secretive about the script and wrote it out by hand in an HB pencil and gave each actor lines to memorise as opposed to a whole script. So, what happened, you ask? Let’s just say she was a little bossy, okay, maybe, very bossy, and had difficulties managing the talent. Thus, an obsession began.
Fast-Forward thirty years, Amelia is the author of Missing which is the first book in the James Lalonde mystery series. Duplicity which is book two in the James Lalonde mystery series will be published in the latter half of 2020.

Al and Sunny Lockwood met after he'd retired from engineering and she'd retired from daily newspaper reporting. They spent much of their time exploring California, Al with his camera and Sunny with her notebook and pen. But a serious car wreck changed their lives.
In 2012, while they waited at a red light, a driver paying more attention to her phone than her driving, slammed into them at 60 miles per hour. The collision totaled both cars and filled the Lockwood's summer with doctor appointments, pharmacy visits, and endless wrangling with insurance companies.
The wreck also woke them up to the reality that life is fragile and there's no guarantee you'll have it for long. "We decided to stop putting off our travel dreams for some day in the future," Sunny says. "We've made 'someday' today."
Their first dream cruise was through the Panama Canal. They loved the trip so much, they wrote a book about it: Cruising Panama's Canal, savoring 5,000 nautical miles and 500,000 decadent calories.
The book was a finalist in the 2014 National Indie Excellence Awards.
Then Al and Sunny visited Amsterdam and cruised the Mediterranean, stopping at Venice, Athens, Istanbul, Ephesus, and various Greek islands.
More recently, they've cruised eastern Canada, visiting the Maritimes, Quebec City and Montreal. They've cruised the Caribbean and visited 11 Central and South American countries.
Together they've visited more than 30 countries on six continents.
Their travel memoir Cruising the Mediterranean won Best Non-Fiction Book from the 2016 Seven Sisters Book Awards, and also won the Gold medal in the 2016 Wishing Shelf Awards (Adult Nonfiction Books category). It was a finalist (Nonfiction Narrative category) in the 2017 Best Book Awards.
"We write to encourage people to make their travel dreams come true," Sunny says. "We want our readers to know that travel enhances health and enriches life. So step out of your everyday routine and take a chance on adventure and fun."
Holly by Kerry Killeen
About Holly by Kerry Killeen
When six women on their way to a work Christmas party see a man lying in a field of snow, of course they stop to help him. He is dressed in a Santa costume, which is reasonable. He insists that he really is Santa, which is not.
They assume he has a mental illness, and take him to the hospital so someone can care for him. On the way, he asks each of them what they would like for Christmas. The ladies think it is a harmless game, so they ask for fun things. Little do they know…
Santa visits each of the women later that night, to find out what they really want. And in a shocking plot twist, they all want some variety of hot sex!
Holly admits that her sex life has been a bit boring lately, and she could really do with some excitement. Santa rewards her with a visit from two handsome basketball stars, who have a reputation for wild parties.
The boys tell Holly that they are looking for a sex toy. Part of her is furious, and wants to storm out of the room. But that part is no match for the part of her that desperately wants to be their toy.
Does Holly go through with it? Does she satisfy the boys?

I have a confession to make. I’m an accountant! Since I’m sure you don’t want to know any more about that, I’ll tell you about my books instead.
I write erotica. Most of my books involve older women. There’s a view in society that as women get to middle age and older, they should be meek, tame and compliant. They should not have adventures. They should not wear bold, striking clothes, or have bold, striking opinions. And God forbid they should even think about sex, much less enjoy it.
I DISAGREE!
Older women having sex is a fabulous idea. As long as they want to. My stories are about enjoying sex. That’s not to say they aren’t wild sometimes, but everyone involved wants to be there.
There’s usually some humour in my books. Let’s face it, some of the funniest situations involve sex, so why not have fun with it.
I write fantasy under another name, and some of my erotica has a fantasy theme (though come to think of it, the heroine of Sword & Scabbard is 190 years old, which probably qualifies her as an older woman).
As I said, I’m an accountant, and part time writer. I’d like it to be the other way round. If you buy my books, you’re helping me to have more sex and less accounting. That makes the world a happier place, so you can count it as your good deed for the day.
I love to hear from readers. Questions, comments, requests, likes, dislikes, anything you want to tell me. I’ll get back to you within a few days.
Be happy wherever your imagination takes you – and since you’re here I have a fair idea where that is!
Love

Blood on the Motorway
About Blood on the Motorway
How would you handle a serial killer at the world’s end?
The first book in the bestselling British apocalyptic trilogy readers have called “absolutely gripping from the first page”, available to all readers for free for a limited time only.
Tom is a layabout ex-student waiting for his life to start or the power to get cut off, whichever comes first. Jen works two jobs, hates both, and most days is too hungover to deal with either. Detective Burnett is trying to work out who the hell turned his sleepy Yorkshire village into a murder town.
When the skies fill with a mysterious storm, each of them wakes to find streets filled with bodies. The world they knew has gone, and their old lives with it. Tom finds himself at the mercy of a deranged soldier, Jen has to keep two love-struck teenagers alive, and Burnett must track down a killer who sees the apocalypse as an opportunity for more mayhem. If they can’t band together, the fate of what remains of humanity hangs in the balance.
Buckle up for an apocalyptic thrill ride to find out who will survive this tale of murder at the world’s end.
“Corpses lay all over the street. Some were burnt, their limbs curled into themselves from the heat. Some were crushed, entangled in one of several car wrecks that dotted the road. Limbs, torsos and heads were strewn haphazardly in their wake. Some were just dead, lying there oblivious to the carnage that surrounded them.”
