But it’s too much of a coincidence. The man who kissed me last night is the man who’s threatening my father with bodily harm. F**k, did Stephen know who I was when he saw me in the club? Nausea rises in me.
A well-dressed woman comes out of the office building. “Are you Courtney Smith?” she asks.
My mouth is dry. “Yes,” I say in a near-whisper.
“I’m Christina, Mr. Montgomery’s assistant. He has been expecting you.” She beckons me. “Come.”
I swallow, then follow her inside. We take the elevator. During the whole elevator ride, my palms are sweating like crazy. Why does Stephen want me? Is he going to punish me for my father’s crimes? I shiver.

Author Bio:
Kevin lives in a tiny little town nestled inside of about a million acres of wheat in eastern Washington. He lives alone with his two dogs; well technically, he has only one dog and his dog has a dog also. He loves to cook elaborate meals in almost any cuisine, do DIY projects of nearly any type, and can routinely be found talking to inanimate objects. His friends were very happy when he purchased a smart home assistant so that he finally had an inanimate object that would talk back to him. The dogs were also happy to have some of the pressure of forced conversation taken off them by the new devices.

He is a student of natural health and human intellectual performance in his free time when he is not buried up to his keyboard in his next up and coming novel. He enjoys reading and a good movie but screen time gets a pretty low priority for his available time.

His current projects are set in a christian backdrop in the eternal battle between good and evil. However, despite demons and battles, the stories are light and fun with plenty of comic relief. Future projects on his list include many different backdrops but I suspect will always be light and humorous with a good dose of comic sarcasm to balance them out.
