Patricia Doyle has been studying consciousness and the afterlife since the early 1960s after a manifestation at a séance led her to pursue spiritual truth with cautious enthusiasm. She was agnostic in 1974 when she had an NDE and was enveloped in God’s Love and Presence. In 1976, she had a transformative experience with Jesus, and was astonished when invited to participate in the revealing of his second coming. Six years later, when introduced to the messages through Padgett, Jesus visited her again to verify them. Two years later, she was appointed president of the Foundation dedicated to these profound messages.

Patricia’s NDE was published in Searchlight in 2012 by the Academy for Spiritual and Consciousness Studies. In 2013, her essay, “Encounter with God: Prophecy, Spiritualism and the Old Testament,” appeared in the Journal for Spiritual and Consciousness Studies. She retired from the University of Puget Sound as Coordinator of the Physics Department and Dual-Degree Engineering Program.

Rather, this book tells of the author’s efforts to speak the truth as an adult about the abuse and address it with her mother, Gretchen, who prefers to keep family secrets. Hoke uses mountain climbing as an overarching metaphor for the peaks and valleys of her life, so the reader gets to go on a travel tale as the author learns to speak the truth in love.
