I’ve searched for a recipe for peace and happiness for many years.

I searched for it in science. I received a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and worked in the field of molecular neuroscience. This gave me a solid scientific foundation and a comprehensive understanding of the processes that happen in our head. But the science did not give me the answer to the main question: how to live a happy and peaceful life.

Then I searched in ancient traditions: I studied yoga, practiced qigong, meditated, and took part in shamanistic ceremonies and initiations. Stef Aden has been an English teacher, videographer, party DJ, coach, novelist, wife, and mother, though not necessarily in that order. Hello, my name is Nicolle Caputa and I am a graduate from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in English/Creative Writing, of course. As acute as it might be to say, I’ve loved writing my entire life. I very much enjoyed assignments in school where I was able to write stories and show my creative side. In elementary school I remember a multitude of meetings with my parents and teachers in which they would show my parents the stories I had written for English class. With the encouragement from all of them, it made me feel as though I might be able to do something with writing. So, at the ripe age of eleven, I attempted to write my first book. It was an uncompleted 46 pages of probably incomplete sentences and plot holes. However, I was still proud of myself for writing 46 pages of a consecutive story. This is where my writing obsession began. I started writing down character names, sentences, and paragraphs that just randomly came to my mind. If I didn’t write them down I would drive myself insane.

After many short stories in-between these years, I began to write my second attempt at a novel. I began it my first year of high school. I wrote 180 pages, which was about 16 chapters, before I unfortunately lost over half the story to the deep depths of my computer trash. I searched for weeks but there was no finding it. Apparently backing up your computer has it’s benefits. So not too long ago I decided to scrap that piece, but who knows, maybe I’ll come back to the concept one day. I hope you enjoy my pieces of work, for I’m improving everyday and coming up with new ideas every hour. I want to start stories and actually finish them. Now that I have written my first novel and am on way to many more this dream is starting seem more and more possible. So this is what I’m doing now. This is my dream. To be a writer.

As an Award Winning, Amazon International Bestselling and All-Star author, Kobo, and Barnes & Noble Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. In 2013 I started a blog to showcase wonderful writers. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma’s Home was created.
