Author Bio:
Born and raised in New Castle Delaware, Christopher Slayton attended William Penn high school where he participated in JROTC and played Lacrosse. During his high school days Chris earned three JROTC national awards and two lacrosse honors before graduating and attending the University of Delaware. As a UD student he wrote for his school’s sketch comedy show, and also joined the university’s Tae Kwon Do team, where he earned his black belt and received twenty-one competition medals. During Chris’ sophomore and junior years (2010 and 2011) he participated in the Mr. Delaware pageant, winning the “Best Body” competition both years and coming in second place in 2011. Chris graduated from the University of Delaware in 2013 with a B.A. in psychology and was hired by a mental health facility he interned for while in college.
Not being satisfied with where he was working, Chris sought out a career in law enforcement. However, he wasn’t considered after applying multiple times due to being a recreational marijuana smoker. Chris continued working for the mental health facility until he finally parted ways in 2014, and worked for two different temp agencies. In 2016 Chris parted ways with the temp agencies and began working for Uber and Lyft. While participating in a Spartan race in 2017 he was recruited by a Homeland Security agent, and was hired by Homeland Security in 2018 as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer.
In 2015 Chris signed a contract with a publishing company named Desert Breeze. He was contracted to have his manuscript “Chaos Company” published by them. Unfortunately in 2017 his contract was terminated due to Desert Breeze closing down. With the rights to his work reverted back to me Chris decided to self-publish in 2017, and also published another action/adventure novel titled “Gargoyle” in 2018.

About THE DEPTFORD MASK MURDERS THE FIRST CAPITAL MURDER TRIAL IN 1905 USING FINGERPRINT FORENSICS

In 1905 a crime took place in London that would change the way that police forces around the world would identify criminal suspects, the Deptford Mask Murders.
On the 27th of March 1905, Thomas Farrow was found beaten to death in an oil and paint shop he managed in Deptford. Ann Farrow, Thomas’s wife was also badly beaten and succumbed to her injuries and died in hospital one week later. This was the crime that the Scotland Yard Fingerprint Bureau had been waiting for since the bureau was formed in 1901, a high profile crime that would put the spotlight on the science of fingerprinting as a reliable, efficient and infallible system of identifying criminals.
A week after the crime was committed; Brothers Alfred and Albert Stratton were arrested and were later put on trial at the Old Bailey accused of wilful murder. The prosecution had very little evidence to convict the brothers and what they did have was mainly circumstantial, except for a thumbprint which was found on a cash box in the Farrows bedroom above the paint shop. The book is based on those true events and is my interpretation of what I believe could have happened 115 years ago when fingerprints were used for the very first time in Great Britain to convict the Stratton brothers of wilful murder.
All of the main characters in this book who played their part in having the brothers convicted were real people in this extraordinary historical event.

Which, of course, she finally did—speak, that is—although only after a considerable time, saying, hoarsely, yet clearly, assertively, “Is this some kind of torture? I mean, don’t you have to feed prisoners before killing them? Isn’t that what the Geneva Convention says?”

I looked at her through the flames, saying nothing, even as Kesabe snarled.

At length I carved a piece of meat from the spit and dropped it on a paper plate, which I carried around to her—but didn’t hand over. Instead, I knelt and sliced off a single bite-sized morsel—then held it close to her nose.

I live on a densely populated peninsula in the mid west coast of Florida with my husband, (my high school sweetheart), and AJ, my long-haired Chihuahua. With the help of my husband, we raised two grown respectable and responsible sons, who have given me two daughters-in law and three grandchildren. I’ve trekked all over the country, including Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, California, and Montana, which are some of my favorite settings for my books.

I wrote my first story in the fourth grade in the form of a play—something about getting a shot at the doctor—it actually was produced by my teacher for parents and students in a Friday afternoon assembly. When I was older, I spilled my guts in a journal every night and wrote long newsy love letters to Viet Nam to my now husband of 50 years. I majored in English in college and worked in the finance arena as a CFO for thirty-five years.
I am a multi published author of Romantic Suspense; two series, the Deadly series with six books, and the Saddle Creek series of four books but a Christmas trilogy. I have also written and published a compilation of four short Christmas stories: Christmas Awakenings. I am a mentor to others helping them write, complete and polish their books for submission.
After six years as a copy editor for The Wild Rose Press, and two years as an editor I decided to devote more time to my family and my own writing career.
An author of romantic suspense, I love reading almost as much as writing. Since a very young age I have always been interested in astrology. Charlie Sacchetti was born in 1947 and raised in a tightly knit, working class neighborhood in Southwest Philadelphia. It was an environment of strong religious, family and honor-based values. Here he learned right from wrong, a strong work ethic and the importance of standing by your word, your family and your friends. He graduated from John Bartram High School and attended Temple University on a baseball scholarship, graduating in 1969. After a brief stint in professional baseball, Charlie returned to the university and was employed there for 13 years. In 1983, he began a new career in industrial chemical sales which continues to this day.

In 2016, after having all four of his “letters to the editor” published, he reasoned that if these editors thought enough of his work to publish all of those submitted, perhaps he had some talent. So, in May of 2016, he submitted the commentary piece, “Getting in the Game” and it was published in a major newspaper on Mother’s day. Subsequently, his piece, “Getting the Message” was submitted and published for Father’s day by a different major newspaper.

That was it…he was bitten and infected by the “writing bug”. The idea of publishing a book of his essays was born from hearing many requests to do so, from friends and strangers alike.

John N. Powers enlisted at age 17 and served as an intelligence operations specialist in Vietnam and Europe. Using the GI Bill, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in American history and secondary education and a Master of Science in Teaching degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. A Brief History of My Nomadic Re-incarnations

I was born and raised in God’s Own Country (Kerala, a tropical paradise in India). We are followers of St. Thomas the Apostle, and we were educated by Christian missionaries (brought by colonizers) from Portugal, France and Britain. 100% literacy and high educational standards in Kerala has led to many progressive movements, including communism. Kerala has many unique records, such as a model COVID-19 recovery rate higher than most Western countries, and it was also the first place where communists were democratically elected to power in world history and are still being ruled by them since 1957. Because of communism and the resulting industrial desert, I had no other option but to pack up my bags after obtaining my Industrial Engineering degree (with specialization in Total Quality Management) to find a job in Bombay (the commercial capital of India).

I soon realized I didn’t have much life beyond the factory floor with my dark skin (as a lungi-wearing Kala Madrasi). I got scared and fled to the South to escape the racist economic ladder. I obtained my MBA in finance as a candidate for national integration. Fortunately for me, in 1990, the entire Indian economy collapsed under the weight of License Raj. Thanks to the collapse of the half-a-century-old mighty Indian License Raj, the Indian economy was liberalized. And it was just in time because I had the amazing privilege of starting my career as an Investment Banking Analyst. Thankfully, the 1996 stock market crash in India gave me the opportunity to come out of my investment banking career.

India had taken the socialist route and, in the 1970s during the conflict with Pakistan, declared emergency rule. Thanks to the Pakistan war and other non-alignments, the US and India’s relationship soured and IBM abandoned India. Hail to the (to fill) vacuum, TCS and the other Indian IT conglomerates were born out of desperation. They coded us in IT to kickstart the legacy computers and mainframes left behind by IBM. Thanks to the biggest blunder in business history (Y2K), IBM and the other western enterprises saw us (‘Cyber Coolies’) as the thrifty solution to fix the doomsday Armageddon code.

During this time, I managed to migrate from corporate finance to ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions and snatched my passport to the epitome of capitalism (USA). But in 2000, the (Netherlands-based) BaaN Brothers got into the Dutch scandal and the #3 ERP (BaaN) system I was riding became a dead horse.

Since then, I’ve spent over a decade volunteering for PMI. I’ve etched my name on all the key standards of PMI (including PMBOK, OPM3, PP&PM, etc.), thanks to my PMI papers, publications and books (especially Project Portfolio Management Standard). I even served in Gartner’s PPM board room panel and later became one of the three PM Methodology SME at E&Y. In 2008, in the midst of the economic Tsunami, I served as an Advisor (to CFO’s office) to set up the Project Portfolio Management Office for a Fortune 10 World’s Most Admired Company. I saved them around a half a Billion dollars, but I became the victim of my short-term financial engineering. I managed to capitalize on the 90s legacy Hyperion Enterprise and moved on to the fancy world of a CFO’s suites of products for bigger Financial Engineering in the BIG4 consulting world.

In 2009, I packed my bags for the Cambodian Jungles in search of answers from the bottom of the pyramid through GIFT (Global Institute for Tomorrow) – a Clinton Global Young Leadership Program (YLP). The more I looked at the finance world in the West, the more disillusioned I became. I lost faith in the rollercoasters of flash markets (90% of today’s stock market without long-term fundamental values is chasing stock buybacks, the Tweets, the hot dollars and high-frequency algorithmic flash gambles by BOTs). Hail to Hernando de Soto. I was born again to The Mystery of Capital Gospel. Since 9/11, I have won a few dollars betting against the conventional Western market wisdom by gambling in Petro China and Total.

After coming back from the wilderness of the Cambodian killing fields, I reincarnated my career to become an EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) out of the 2008 Economic Tsunami in the BIG4 world. I made 95% of my net worth between 2008 to 2011 by betting against conventional wisdom. To greenwash my guilt, I had the amazing honor of volunteering for the most extensive Professional Not-for-Profit for over a decade (PMI [Project Management Institute]), which serves ~3 million professionals, including over 500,000 members in 208 countries around the world.
