My goal was to mingle fear, desperation, humor, and hope into a thought-provoking story. Prepping is a huge part of the series. I tried to give a few ideas without being “prepper preachy.”

I can’t imagine being stuck in one genre. I’ve written everything from an abused eight-year-old boy tear-jerker to the story of a vicious psychopath.
If a story idea wakes me up at night, I write it down, go back to sleep, and dream about it. The next morning, I type out a summary.

The things I’ve learned about writing:
It’s a wonderful way to make up stories and not get in trouble for doing it.
Daydreaming isn’t a waste of time if you put it to paper.
Many of my character’s flaws are my own. As I help them, I help myself.
