About Destiny (The Owens Chronicles Book Two)
I waited for the blow, but it didn’t come. There was a gust of wind and a loud bang, then nothing but a faint ringing in my ears and tingling in my palms. When I opened my eyes, the woman was gone…
After making a shocking discovery about herself, Lucy must embrace her destiny or follow in the tragic footsteps of the women who came before her.
Lucy Owens was your average eighteen-year-old with overprotective guardians until an ancient Prophecy sent an army of Gifteds (humans with supernatural abilities) after her.
Still haunted by her last encounter with Donovan’s Army, Lucy is looking forward to putting the past few months behind her and preparing herself to eventually face the Big Bad. When Donovan and his followers have other plans, Lucy barely escapes with her life, until she discovers something about herself that changes everything.
After Embry and Gabriel, the men sworn to protect her, whisk Lucy away to New Orleans, she is left with more questions than answers. There, Lucy must confront her guilt, face her fears and dig deep into the lives of her ancestors in order to master her newfound skills. Hopefully before the Big Bad finds her and completes his centuries-long quest.
Destiny is the second novel in a coming of age paranormal trilogy by Amanda Lynn Petrin. If you like strong and vulnerable heroines who keep fighting no matter how many times they are knocked down, then you’ll love this supernatural adventure.

Rustlers and Romance
Synopsis
Rustlers and Romance
Chase Montgomery, always on top of his grades in high school, expected to succeed at anything, always had his face in a book, 32 years old, tall, ruggedly handsome man with thick blond hair and piercing blue eyes. Comes to WY from an abusive family when he was ten years old and is raised by the ranch manager, Amos. He finds out he’s good with horses and after graduating from high school he stays at the ranch, saving every penny he can. When the ranch owners decide to retire he buys it from them and builds a big herd of award winning horses. On his way home from a horse sale in Denver, CO he meets a bruised but pretty waitress at Rosie’s Diner when he stops for dinner.
Lauren McCray, 28 years old with green eyes, long light brown hair, leaves her domestic abusive partner in Michigan and travels west night and day to parts unknown, not sure which state she is in except for road signs. When she stops at Rosie’s Diner, she realizes she’s maxed out all her credit cards on motels and food and needs to get a job. Fortunately for her, Rosie’s has a Help Wanted sign in the window. She gets a job as a waitress where she meets Chase, when he comes in for dinner late one afternoon. After a short discussion with him she fills his order and he leaves. She wipes off a table and glances out to the parking and can’t believe what she sees. There is her ex, Clint Jackson, the woman beater, looking into her car. She hightails it to the back of the restaurant, grabs her few belongings, rushes outside, and into the bed of a nearby truck pulling a horse trailer. She escapes once again from Clint.
Chase can’t stop thinking about the waitress and her bruised green eyes. When he arrives at his ranch, Jack of Aces, he unloads his new-lineage horses and reaches into the truck bed for his bag of toiletries he placed under a tarp. He pulls up the tarp and finds a hidden treasure.
Lauren is scared, somewhat afraid of men but realizes all men are not like Clint. Some men, like Chase and Amos, his ranch manager, are loving and caring and would do anything to protect her from whomever or whatever she’s running away from. She finds out she inadvertently brought Clint’s laptop instead of her own and his email, as well as other programs on his computer are password protected. She hands the laptop over to Chase who hands it off to one of his friends to try to break the code. After access to the files on Clint’s computer reveals an illegal gambling ring, it is turned into the Sheriff.
Lauren meets Edie Benner, Chase’s old girlfriend and neighbor’s granddaughter, the first morning after spending the night at Jack of Aces. Edie, working as Chase’s housekeeper, delivers breakfast in bed to Lauren, along with a cryptic message to stay away from Chase. When Chase finds out Edie was snooping in Lauren’s things in her room and the message Edie left Lauren, he fires Edie. She stomps out the front door and races off down the drive leaving dust and dirt flying in her wake. Lauren steps up and helps with the indoor chores and meals, especially, to earn her room and board.
Chase and Amos teach Lauren to ride and groom a horse, all the while horses are being stolen out of Chase’s own pastures. He puts extra guards on duty and has the Sheriff investigate. The horses are loaded on a truck on his neighbor’s property and transported somewhere. The Sheriff confronts the neighbor and thinks he has it all settled but the stealing continues. Chase takes things into his own hands and confronts his neighbor, Duffy Benner, who denies being involved and doesn’t know anything about the truck(s) on his property. Duffy, getting up in age, is disappointed when Chase confronts him about the tire tracks on his property and the cut fence line. They’ve been friends for years, both involved in round-ups every year and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), as well.
Chase and Lauren have been undeniably attracted to each other ever since their chance meeting at the diner. Chase invites Lauren to go on a horse ride ‘ranch tour’ with a packed lunch. They enjoy a one on one, and get to know each other intimately.
Amos sees how Chase and Lauren look at each other and realizes something is going on between them. Since he took Chase under his wing and raised him since he was ten years old, Amos feels he needs to talk to the boy and give him some advice. Amos tells Chase he isn’t going to get over this one like he did Edie, he’s not going to be able to let her go. Lauren has taken a piece of his heart and won’t want to give it back anytime soon. Amos suggests Chase marry Lauren, then he could try to get her ‘out of his system’. She could live here without feeling like a runaway and Chase can continue to protect her, but as his wife, and with his last name.
Chase tells Amos he’s a nutty old man but thinks about it long and hard. He finally acquiesces and asks Lauren to think about marrying him so he can continue to protect her and make her feel more comfortable. He’s never felt this way about a woman—always thinking about her, breathing deeply to find her scent, loves to be with her, enjoys her laughter. She makes him feel—something. Maybe he’s falling in love with her. Neither can deny they have feelings for each other.
When Chase finally gets up the nerve to talk to Lauren about getting married, he finds out Lauren loves it in Wyoming with all the fresh mountain air and beauty all around. Lauren agrees to think about his proposal.
Chase invites Lauren to the Sunday night Spring Fling to celebrate the end of roundup. She accepts and he takes her shopping for a dress in town, Saddle Creek. Lauren doesn’t want to spend Chase’s money and swears to pay him back for the dress the first chance she gets.
They go to the party and after a few close slow dances, Edie, Chase’s old girlfriend and neighbor’s granddaughter, butts in and wants to dance with Chase. She wants to know what happened to ‘them’, she wants him back. He breaks it off with her, hopefully for the last time and goes to find Lauren, who has stepped outside for a breath of fresh air.
Chase hears a scream as soon as he reaches the doorway and runs to the side of the building. When he sees a man knock a woman to the ground, he sees the woman is Lauren. Clint had finally found her. Chase pulls Clint off Lauren just as he is ready to throw another punch. Chase tells Clint to beat on someone his own size. A fight ensues, of which, Chase beats the crap out of Clint and Clint is arrested for domestic violence, and breaking the limits of the restraining order. Further charges are brought against Clint while he is in jail. He is accused of being part of an organized crime gambling business. When Clint feels he’s been thrown under the bus he confesses, and sings like a canary. He informs the Sheriff he had to make some money while away from Michigan and joined Edie Bower’s gang of horse thieves, who pays extremely well. Further investigation reveals Chase’s horses are all safe in a canyon outside of town where Edie had directed them to go. Clint will likely face extradition charges and spend a good number of years in prison.
Edie is arrested for her part in the horse stealing and will probably spend a few years in prison, as well.
After Chase saves Lauren from further beating from Clint and she realizes she is free at last, she tells Chase she thinks she’s falling in love with him. She can’t stop thinking about him, she longs to be held in his arms again.

The Diarrhea Diaries
Whether you follow Twitter or not, you would have to be living on another planet not to be aware of President Trump’s use of Twitter. It has attracted worldwide attention. Almost daily he uses Twitter to comment about politicians, celebrities as well as official government announcements that often described as bitter, enraged, heated, chafed, irate, sullen and choleric. From his official declaration of candidacy in June 2015 through the first two-and-a-half years of his presidency, he has tweeted over 17,000 times. The 34 chapters in this book contain 480 of those Tweets and are presented word-for-word as Mr. Trump wrote them. Misspellings and punctuation errors are Mr. Trumps. Tweets longer than 280 characters are those continued in a second or third Tweet and combined here. Mr. Trump targeted many of the same individuals often retweeting an existing Tweet by changing a pejorative word (s) to describe an individual along with other key words to make his point. These Tweets have been organized to confirm this pattern. Some will find them amusing, others may be dismayed that they were written by the President of the United States. To be sure, we live in interesting political times.

By using these books, adult friends and family of grieving children have an opportunity to take responsibility and action towards healing, rather than becoming frustrated by the lack of information and support so often encountered by families facing grief.
The Super Dog Zam Grief Healing Book Series is part of Zam Academy, a grief healing program for schools. Additional books in our series are available for ages 3-5, 6-9, 10-12, and teens in 3 languages: English, Spanish, and Italian.

For the past nine years, I devoted my time and skills to help families affected by terminal illness and grief. I have developed programs, books, and tools in collaboration with my partners.
Starting the Danish charity “Stoette Foer Afskeden” in 2011 with composer Niels Eje www.musicure.dk and SerenityGte Foundation USA, we have donated more than 15,000 “AngelKIT” and “Heart Packages” to terminally ill families in five countries.
When I was diagnosed with stage-three colon cancer, and the possibility of leaving my children behind, I went through the worst emotional storm of my life. Coping with cancer, while being there for my four children (the youngest only two years old), was beyond challenging. The lack of resources available for families in our situation made me promise to pay it forward if I was given a second chance.

Whitney Dineen is a rock star in her own head. While delusional about her singing abilities, there’s been a plethora of validation that she’s a fairly decent author (AMAZING!!!). After many writing awards and selling nearly a kabillion books (math may not be her forte, either), she’s decided to just let the voices in her head say whatever they want (sorry, Mom). She also won a fourth-place ribbon in a fifth-grade swim meet in backstroke. So, there’s that.
Whitney loves to play with her kids (a.k.a. dazzle them with her amazing flossing abilities), bake stuff, eat stuff, and write books for people who “get” her. She thinks french fries are the perfect food and Mrs. Roper is her spirit animal.
THE ELFKIN JOURNALS: Blending of the Races by JDeVereS
THE ELFKIN JOURNALS: Blending of the Races by JDeVereS
Warder Garith De’ Graoin and Doctor Lan De Tian lead a team of “Misfits” on a quest to save their universe from a plague that is sweeping through an entire civilization. Utilizing the power of bonded mind stones, they shape the energies of the universe to reach across time and space seeking out the enemy.
As the most elite team of Warders in the Elfkin Federation… they are assigned the responsibility to enter an alternate universe… find the weakness in the aggressor’s system and stop the plague. Unfortunately, the enemy they face possesses genetic mutations that make them the equivalent of ‘minor gods’.
Tragically, this team knows that the reason their universe is under attack is the result of their Federation meddling in the affairs of the alternate universe. To win… they must save ‘the Mother’, defeat a minor god, and restore order to the alternate universe.
What can this tiny team of 7 multi-racial Elfkins do against an entire Empire?
WIN! They either win or two civilizations will devolve into primal chaos.
From their tiny resort camp on the third planet from a minor sun… they must embark on a journey that does not understand the concept of time as a linear progression. They must win a battle using the curvature of time and the energies of two universal sources.
In this battle there is no safe place to hide… your dreams, your future, your past… even the shadows of the night are all susceptible to attack.
…
“There is really nothing else Ramas and I can teach you in preparation for this challenge… our chances of success will depend more on your brains rather than your swords.” Garith panned a slow, hard-eyed, look across the team… then shaped a small smile. “Remember, all you have to do is defeat a minor God!”
“Okay – when I open the gate… you go!” Garith’s mind stone flared… his hands shaping an intricate pattern, duplicating the images formed in his mind, as he carefully opened the ‘lightway’ that would take this team to the rebel leaders.
“Dell r’… get ‘em in there…” The ‘lightway’ flared as five shadowed figures moved toward the gate.
Ramas watched as Dell r’ rushed through first… his greatsword in a neutral position… not threatening… but instantly ready for action. A mountain of iron hard muscle… with arms like braided steel… flaxen hair tied back in a tight braid… facial features locked in a grim battle-set.
Ramas chuckled as he thought quietly to himself. “Bet that look will put the rebel leaders in line really quick.”
“The stars be with you!” Ramas patted Rison on the shoulder as he stepped through with Muirisc tight by his side.
“The stars be with you!” In the darkness of the chamber, Ramas reached out with one hand to encourage the final two travelers. He knew that the Council had assigned a ‘protector’ class warrior to the team at the last moment but he had not yet seen the man in person. There had not been enough time to check every detail of every plan… at some point he had to trust the judgement of other personnel. Briefly glimpsed intelligence reports indicated that he was some kind of giant Elf with archaic armor straight from the legends of ancient times.
“Whoa! What was that…?” As the warrior surged passed, supporting the ‘ailing’ Ala, Ramas’ hand brushed the ‘protector’s’ armor. Instantly, his hand recoiled as if struck by a strong shock. Less than one second later both figures were gone and the gateway closed.
“Interesting…” Ramas pursed his lips in a moment of thought… his features totally neutral. “The wheel turns as the wheel turns… I must rethink some of our plans.”
…

Author Bio:
It is my expressed opinion that, to the 98 percentile, there is no such thing as a pure fiction fantasy novel! As an author, I can give my characters pointed ears or retractable fangs… I can place them on a separate world or universe… but, in the end, I am writing about real human emotions, true human responses to various situations, actual human interactions!
“The Elfkin Journals: Blending of the Races” is a fantasy/science fiction novel that speaks to the ancient adage the “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”.
In this novel, a team of “Misfits”, living in a resort compound on the third planet from a minor sun, travel to an alternate universe to end a reign of tyranny that is the result of a race with superpowers losing their human “touch”.
Based on my international travels, I became fascinated with the similarities between many of the Earth’s ancient myths and legends. Spending years travelling throughout Southern China and Asia, I fell in love with the sagas and the people of these lands. I was already familiar with the Western world’s legends, but travelling around Asia gave me a new perspective. Eventually, the concept of a combined Elf team fighting to save 2 separate universes crystallized in my mind.
Natural wonders I have seen around the world allowed me to create vivid images of real-life settings such as Bridalveil Falls in Yosemite, Di Tian waterfalls between Viet Nam and China, The Grand Canyon in Arizona and the Chinese Grand Canyon called Tongling.
The good-hearted, open-minded, people from around the world that I have met in my life gave me the foundation for “the good guys”… the self-centered, closed-minded, people that I have encountered in life became the basis for my tyrants.
As I was constantly in a travel mode for nearly 2 years it took me that entire time to finish this novel from start to finish.
What was tough for me to write were the heroines. Sorry, but I’m one of those thick-headed guys that needs things explained to him again and again in VERY patient terms. But the “bad guys” were easy for me as I have little tolerance for small-minded people who believe there is only one “right” way to live life.. and only one right way to love! LIFE IS ABOUT GROWTH!
Hopefully, “The Elfkin Journals” will open a few minds to new thoughts and ideas.
In the end, there are a few quotes from this novel that capsulize my basic life principles.
“The only lasting treasures are those you hold in your heart – not your hands!”
“Life is a moment in eternity – Love is eternity born in this moment of Life!”
“Of all creative arts – the greatest wrought – is that of a life well-lived!”
As a former “blue-ribbon” winner in digital art contests… the cover image for my book is from one of my original works… “Hues of Creation”.
I hope you enjoy this novel!

“Jay’s account is impressively ambitious, offering a sprawling view of the wages of war from three distinct perspectives. She ingeniously braids them into a coherent narrative tapestry, and along the way, she realistically describes the human degradation experienced by prisoners in the Nazi camps…”Kirkus Reviews 2019

The Obscured Journey
The human condition is one riddled with complexities about the path we yearn for, who we are and what we believe. We have become so dogmatic in our own beliefs that when they don’t come to fruition or we find them to be a hoax; our journey can come crashing down with doubt, fear, and uncertainty. Many individuals think they know why they are doing what they do, where they will end up, or who they wish to be in 3 to 7 years until a catastrophic event called life occurs. We dream to live adventurously but the fear of change confines us to only existing, which is to survive in the fog of society thus creating a disoriented/invisible sensation. The unknown causes our thoughts to imprison us as we ponder if we will ever be content or if we will forever be in debt paying bills. We wonder about our next occupation or what comes after retirement. We worry about things we can’t control then suffer from anxiety. Our breath is limited by our determination and imagination yet those things we can take hold of. We exclaim at times to be lost, but to be lost is to know where X marks the spot yet unclear on how to get there. So the question is:
What’s the Journey toward X? This book is meant to help you not only choose your path, but how to choose it wisely and magnanimously.

You are reading this bio either by accident or because you have an interest in my writing. The one thing about being an author that I have found uncomfortable is the request for a bio page everywhere I turn. I am generally a private person but more than that, I feel pretentious writing about myself simply because I am an author.
That being said, I will provide a little insight. My father and his father were trim and door carpenters. They could do other carpentry but they specialized in the detail work. My dad was also a talented artist. My other grandfather was a mechanic in a civil service job, winning a number of awards for quality and innovation. I had one grandmother who retired from A&P and my mother was an elementary school teacher. Combine this DNA and you get me with too many interests for my own good.
I particularly enjoy working with mechanical things and I can fix practically anything. I also build furniture when I have time and do my own home repair and remodeling work in most cases. Oh the list I could detail for you of all my interests but what they usually boil down to is frustration for not having enough hours in the day. However, two interests which have played key roles in my writing have been my love of travel and my passion for history. I have traveled the United States extensively and local history has often been my focus. There is something eerily compelling about standing in the midst of hushed voices in a museum or the twilight breeze across the desert or prairie… Excuse me, I was drifting into my imagination and if I don’t stop now I might be get stuck there for a while.
As for my writing, my mother had the most significant impact. As a kid I can remember she was always writing something and she won a few awards. It is because of her writing that the thought of me as a writer seemed reasonable. I wrote a few short stories and about half a novel in high school but I allowed life to pull me away from it. It wasn’t until several years ago when I had one of the most vivid and unique dreams that I began to get serious about writing. Out of nowhere I dreamt the key points of the plot for Thrust From the Hand of God and the rest of that story fell into place as if by supernatural means. I know that many people these days do not believe in God and Christ seems to be on the public enemy list but I do feel God gave me this story and I credit any success it has to Him.
I do not write Christian Fiction but I do not write smut either. My goal is that any reasonable reader will enjoy my work, be entertained by it and learn something in the process. I am a firm believer that a book should teach you something. For instance, Thrust From the Hand of God has a lot of great history wrapped into it but don’t worry, it is painless, I promise. After all, what good is any work of fiction if it does not first entertain?
Since that fateful dream I have had several others like it, each providing me with the core of another unique story. The list of stories spans several genres and it is my desire to write them all. For now, I humbly ask you to give Thrust From the Hand of God a chance. Based solely on the feedback I have received I do believe you will be pleasantly surprised.

Comedy, action, drama, suspense…I don’t have a problem writing any of that for the most part. The one subject I’ve always had trouble writing about is myself. Here goes it though! I’m a writer from the Caribbean island of St. Thomas, now residing in Rochester, NY. I come from a culture rich in superstition and storytelling, and I soaked it all up sitting around listening to my mother tell stories about La Diablesse and the Soucouyant, all the while implying that certain family members may be one of them. I eventually started crafting my own tales, which led me to where I am today.

Lorelei Confer
I live on a densely populated peninsula in the mid west coast of Florida with my husband, (my high school sweetheart), and AJ, my long-haired Chihuahua. With the help of my husband, we raised two grown respectable and responsible sons, who have given me two daughters-in law and three grandchildren. I’ve trekked all over the country, including Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, California, and Montana, which are some of my favorite settings for my books.
I wrote my first story in the fourth grade in the form of a play—something about getting a shot at the doctor—it actually was produced by my teacher for parents and students in a Friday afternoon assembly. When I was older, I spilled my guts in a journal every night and wrote long newsy love letters to Viet Nam to my now husband of 50 years. I majored in English in college and worked in the finance arena as a CFO for thirty-five years.
I am a multi published author of Romantic Suspense; two series, the Deadly series with six books, and the Saddle Creek series of four books but a Christmas trilogy. I have also written and published a compilation of four short Christmas stories: Christmas Awakenings. I am a mentor to others helping them write, complete and polish their books for submission.
After six years as a copy editor for The Wild Rose Press, and two years as an editor I decided to devote more time to my family and my own writing career.
An author of romantic suspense, I love reading almost as much as writing. I have filled my book shelves with my favorites, i.e. Harlan Coben, Eliza March, Johanna Lindsey, Kathleen Woodiwiss, Desiree Holt, Catherine Bybee, Kendra Elliott, Shirley Jump, BJ Daniels, Andrew Gross, and Bobbi Smith, just to mention a few, as well as all the classics.
Personal Interest: I love scrapbooking and genealogy, connecting stories with pictures. I’ve sewn, quilted and have machine embroidered but my interests have changed as I’ve grown older. (I’m not really that old.) Now, I really enjoy writing stories, many times using my real life experiences, to tell the tale.
