I’ve been a San Francisco-based author since 2010. Now, I’m living in the PNW and loving it. I’m an assistant editor for a boutique publisher (Lakewater Press) and a staff writer for a growing production company (Theme Parkology) creating documentaries and podcast programs for the company. Aside from writing novels, as an award-winning playwright, I enjoy spending time developing my ideas into adaptations for stage and screen.
Likes: Fun socks, tattoos, predictable romance novels, gardening, art, everything rainbow, boating, and Nirvana (okay, that last one is a LOVE).
Dislikes: The feel of newsprint on my fingers, Twizzlers, using a hammer, ironing, litter, cold soups, fluorescent lighting, and Good and Plenty.
You Are Awesome
I believe that there is always another way. When the odds are stacked against you and your back is against the wall. That is never the time to give up. That’s the time to dig deep and prove to everyone how awesome you are!
Enjoy, take care and stay awesome!
Thank you.

I only really started to get into reading books at the end of 2018 when my wife bought me the entire set of Harry Potter.
Safe to say J. K. Rowling set the bar very high with her amazingly creative imagination. Before those I had only read a handful of books mainly zombie related, such as the walking dead graphic novel series by Robert Kirkman and ‘Day by Day Armageddon’ by J.L Bourne. Honestly couldn’t put those down.
Scalp Point, Book 2 Skywaters Series
About Scalp Point, Book 2 Skywaters Series
On the maps it was called Crown Point, named, not, as most people presumed, for the crown worn by the nefarious French King, Louis, but for the crowns of the heads of our people whose hair was viciously removed by the Indians and carried there in triumph. Thus, Crown Point became for us, Scalp Point. It was situated near the lower end of Lake Champlain and was a part of the southernmost of the French defensive fortifications against our threatened incursions. It had been, even before a citadel was erected there, the launching place for Indian raids, it giving them swift access to both our New England and New York frontiers. The raiders could travel the hundred miles from Montreal to Scalp Point without fear of interference from us, and from Scalp Point, trails and waterways led off to all the places they could raid. And raid they did. We Americans, fighting alongside our British cousins, urged the British to take the war to the French. Not until this place of the devil was eradicated could we live free from the awful attacks. But before the British could get there with their bayonets and cannons, they had to find their way through the woods, something they were entirely incapable of doing on their own. It was our job to get them there. We were rangers. Rogers’ Rangers.

Author Bio:
Francis Smith (1945 – 1992) grew up in historic Ticonderoga, NY, in the 1950’s, a time and place where the ghosts of old Indians and scouts were more alive than they are today. He was a career merchant mariner, a lifetime spent traveling the world but with his heart firmly attached to his Adirondack birthplace. His “ocean cruises,” while seemingly adventurous to those who stayed home, were lonely and dull, and to fight the boredom, Francis began writing what would become the Skywaters Series.

Kyle Lincoln’s life was dull and colorless. His deep-seated need for control had made things a bit too predictable for his liking. Kayla doesn’t think there’s any way such a sexy and enigmatic man could ever be genuinely interested in her and resolves to forget him after their passionate encounter, but soon finds that’s easier said than done. Glow: A Collection of Stories
About Glow: A Collection of Stories
Glow: A Collection of Stories showcases 5 short stories from writer and performer Jason Messina. These stories are a cross between the Twilight Zone and Ray Bradbury, with unexpected twists and turns before leaving you someplace strange. Inspired by mysteries, sci-fi, ghosts, treasure hunts, comic books, the number 7 and everything else, you can take a break from reality and have your mind slightly bend in different directions with these stories.
Glow is the story of a man who must make the most difficult decision of his life. And also what happens when you know someone is going to die just before they do.
Delay Angel is the story of the worst day Emily has ever had. It only gets worse after she’s abducted by aliens. But is she prepared to learn the truth?
Safe is a story set in the near future where everyone is armed and dangerous. Two armed men attack a man in his house hoping to learn the secret hidden in the basement. Will they find what they are looking for or something far worse?
Signs of Life A man hides during an alien invasion. When he comes up for air, he discovers the world is a much different and stranger place then he’s ever known. This is how the movie Signs should’ve ended.
The Landlady will remind you of that creepy feeling you get when you feel someone staring at you, but then when you turn around no one is standing there. The other thing you won’t see is the karmic curveball ending. Warning, may include an evil landlady.
Included in the book are behind-the-scenes on how all the stories came to be written and how one was turned into a short film for the New York City Film Festival (kinda sorta). This is the only place to read the official version of that short story turned movie Glow.

The Promise
When the aliens attacked, humanity was nearly wiped out.
There weren’t enough fighting men or women left alive to repel the invaders and what remained of humanity hid underground. Desperate to survive, the Piecer Corp plan was initiated; thousands upon thousands of DNA manipulated recruits were created to defend Earth.
A truce was called and the Earth was rebuilt. The Piecer Corp continued, but only normal growth DNA recruits were allowed to be created. The Earth was repopulated and humanity salvaged. “Normie” human soldiers could now take the place of manufactured Piecer Corp soldiers, ending the need for the Corp.
Current day 2173: celebration for the last graduating class of the Corp. For these recruits, their life in the military was over. Chase 523, a Piecer fire team leader wondered if this was the last time he would see his team again. Soon they would be civilians and take their place among normally conceived humans.
To honor them and mark the occasion, the first Starship ever built, “The Promise”, was flown to the Piecer Academy stadium. General Gilbert Tupi, a “normie” soldier, presided over the ceremony, congratulated them all, and dismissed them from military service.
For one brief moment everyone was happy.
That’s when the sky lit up.

Lisa M. White decided to write stories about people with magic after spending hours as a kid trying to get her superpowers to kick in. This often involved holding a plastic She-Ra sword to the sky and screaming, ‘By the power of Grayskull!’ at the top of her lungs – she only recently learned that She-Ra said ‘For the honour of Grayskull!’ which completely explains why it didn’t work. Lisa also gave herself headaches trying to get her telekinetic powers to kick in, and often got sunburnt due to hours of searching for fairies in her family’s garden – while she was supposed to be watering the capsicums for her dad. Nowadays, the only place Lisa looks for fairies and magic is in her favourite books and TV shows
Lisa has a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours, as well as Advanced Diplomas in Naturopathy, Nutrition, and Western Herbal Medicine. Lisa Lives in Adelaide, South Australia, with her husband, two children, and a rather cute (but terribly naughty) little cat.

She thinks she got over him and they’ll avoid each other. She thinks they’ll never get past angry glares and heated arguments. She’s wrong. He was a stubborn boy, but now he’s a stubborn man, a cop who radiates authority even out of uniform, doesn’t back down easily and can still make her laugh even when she feels awkward.

I’m an independent author living in the United States who hates writing in third-person, even for author bios. I’m a story junkie who one day decided my love for books exceeded my bank budget, so I started writing my own books. If I’m not writing, I’m devouring interesting books, TV and movies across several genres. Pride and Prejudice or John Wick, Super Troopers or Stranger Things (why hello there, Chief Hopper), I’m down for it all. Anything to get my fiction fix, but my heart beats the fastest for romance and action-adventure, so I write action-packed romance!
I try to keep my progress bars updated on my website, and I write or edit my current project every single day because it’s my passion, so if you’re waiting (so patiently, thank you, you’re amazing) for my next book, don’t think I’ve forgotten or given up! I’ll never stop writing.

Chasing Risks
Eleonora – Ellie or Nora or Leo, depending on who’s calling her name at the moment – has the exact life she wants. No really, she does. She couldn’t be happier with her job at the bar she owns with her best friend or her fantastic sex life with her boyfriend, Lucas. Or…with her girlfriend Theo. Hey, she never said it wasn’t complicated, just that she couldn’t picture it any other way.
And, that’s not to say that Ellie doesn’t have struggles. Being proudly bisexual and openly polyamorous, she knows what it’s like to be judged, to be written off immediately by a lot of people. She’s used to it, though. So when Quincy walks into her bar – and then into her bed – she expects just that, a judgment and a fast goodbye. But somehow this gorgeous woman takes Ellie as she is, with all the baggage. And Quincy even wants more.
But Ellie isn’t sure she has the time for more, for another set of feelings to consider. There are only so many hours in a day. Plus, she’s not the only one who has opinions about Quincy. Lucas understands, he’s always been the easygoing one. But Theo is pissed, and her jealousy flames higher and higher, threatening to burn Ellie’s whole life down with it. And she does have a point, she’s known Ellie a hell of a lot longer. So who is Quincy to walk in and take away more time from Theo and Lucas when their schedule had been working so well?
Who is Quincy to Ellie, and is she worth risking everything for? Because that’s just it. If Ellie can’t find a balance, find a way to juggle it all and keep everyone happy, then taking the risk could cost her the loves of her life.
*Content Warning: sex and lots of it – of both the hetero and queer variety, and language*
If you like erotic romances, diverse and strong-willed characters then Chasing Risks might be your next favorite book. It represents the bisexual babes and polyamorous peeps, with a few laughs and some serious swoons. It’ll keep you up way too late, reading just one more chapter all night.

Author Bio:
Maria lives in Minnesota despite the frozen winters. Actually, she prefers snow drifts and icicles over summer and all that sweat running everywhere. She lives with her husband and little family, which includes a couple lazy cats who make great lap warmers. You can usually find her whishing that she lived in a secret cabin in the woods where she could be a hermit reading and writing all of the time. Instead she lives the suburban life where she pretends to her neighbors and the other moms around that she doesn’t swear like a sailor, have hidden tattoos, and love a good glass bottle of wine. She absolutely believes in unicorns and ghosts and hopes vampires and monsters are real too. She’s a coffee-in-the-morning and wine-in-the-evening kind of person, preferably with a nap in between. Maria prefers cats over dogs, books over people, and late nights over early mornings. She probably shouldn’t talk to anyone until she’s had her first cup of coffee. And if you ever want to hang out with her, you’ll have to be game for a horror movie or just a quick run to target for two (hundred) little things. Also, you couldn’t pay her to be in her twenties again; Thirties is where it’s at. She’s a creative, mouthy, introverted, proud bisexual, highly-sensitive INFJ, Slytherpuff, dork with a sweet-tooth.
Maria devours books, reading mostly in bed or listening to audio books in the car. Writing has been one of her passions for pretty much her whole life. So creativity is a necessity for her, always. After working in the mental health field for almost a decade, she’s now living her dream as a stay-at-home writer, kiddo wrangler, professional snuggler, and constantly-tired-person. When it comes to her writing, she specializes in dark and twisted thrillers or gritty, angsty contemporary romances. But no matter the genre, she always prefers writing deeply flawed characters with dysfunctional relationships. She’s pretty sure the whole “unlikable character” thing is a conspiracy because every character she loves have been labeled this way. Ridiculous. And because of this, she’s pretty much found it impossible to write anything without at least a little mayhem.
Maria was once told she painted with her words, and that phrase stuck with her – because writing really is an art, and good stories are true masterpieces. She’s always trying to grow and improve in her craft, shooting for a masterpiece of her own someday. And she plans to write forever because writing gives Maria the ability to disappear into new worlds and create people within twisting plots, all from the comfort of her couch. She will always believe that though not every story is for her, and her stories aren’t for everyone, every story has a reader.

2051; or The Emancipated Synthetic by L. Stanley
About 2051; or The Emancipated Synthetic by L. Stanley
In the year 2041, a law was passed stating that all crimes, debts and unfulfilled sentences could be traded for either the exchange of free labour, the exchange of personal favours for those in power, or for the increasingly popular exchange of a wholly domesticated existence measured by the severity of the outstanding liability.
With the criminal justice system all but abolished, this became a way of life in England, none challenging that which was the norm: trading life and time for gain, prosperity and the romance of fictitious emancipation.
For once in history, captivity and servitude were valued by all parties, and freedom was the myth and secret it was always thought to be.
In London, offenders are being sold like cattle when a breakout prompts one of the biggest searches in the City. Meanwhile the Attorney General, Dolly Mason, battles personal demons while prosecuting an attack on politicians, taking care of her teenage ward, Sera.
Compared to popular dystopian novel, The Hunger Games, 2051 explores a traditional science fiction world set in a future with a cashless society, criminals being sold by auction for work, babies sold by their mothers for food, barbers buying black-market organs and operating on the desperate, while the political landscape in the UK takes a turn when celebrating a decade since major social change.

Now Qatar is the richest nation on earth but what was it like in the formative times of the 50s, 60s and early 70s as a nation was created? Flashy and irresistible, Lord Ashbee is used to getting what he wants. A hedonist, a ruthless businessman, and an exquisite lover, he is admired and warned about in the high society of 1820s London. When he encounters a beautiful young woman in the Belle House, the famous brothel on Piccadilly, he is more than intrigued. He coaxes the in-house maid Krissy to set up “accidental” run-ins with the mysterious beauty, determined to seduce her.
Shy virtuous May is in hiding. She is confined to a small room in the back of a brothel and does her best to avoid trouble. Especially Lord Ashbee. The last thing she needs is a man who can destroy her cover, not to mention her innocence. But a few encounters—and he already has her under his spell. When the tragedy is about to strike, no one is willing to help her.
Except for Lord Ashbee.
On one condition—she will be his mistress.
So begins May’s introduction into the world of exquisite bedroom pleasures.
