I spent five years researching all I could find in newspapers accounts of the period, Oklahoma Pioneer testimonies, and NARA court records. What came out was an amazing story fit for screen and television. These men brought in hundreds of prisoners and 2 of them wound up on the gallows at Fort Smith. They were both wounded several times in the line of duty, Abe so seriously that he became a cripple. Family genealogy has helped me fill in the family details and I have received great praise from distant cousins I did not know I had who have learned the story of their relatives in a troubled and violent time. If you like true history you will love this one.

At the age of 28 after graduating 7 years previously from the University of Utah with a B.A. in political science and a certificate in international relations, I fulfilled my life-long dream, become a pilot. From that humble beginning over the next 10 years I climbed to the top of the training and certification to become an airline transport pilot. I spent over 20+ years working for a small airline in Utah as a line pilot, training officer, chief pilot and finally, the highest position a pilot can hold, director of flight operations. I flew all over the western U.S. and the Hawaiian Islands in turboprop Beech 99 Airliners. It was a job I could not believe I got paid for doing.

Why did I start to write? At the encouragement of my husband who is also a fantastic writer. In 2005 I started the research for this first book, but did not have time to complete it until I had retired from my busy work schedule in 2012. Then it took me three years to put all the research together in a good narrative, self-publishing it in 2015.

I currently reside on a 9 acre hobby farm in Missouri. I love the outdoors here and the weather is much less fierce than Utah where I spent 40+ years of my life. Hello! Nice to meet you! I am a Canadian, UK, and Swedish citizen living in Sweden. I grew up in the Canadian countryside with not much more than my imagination to occupy me and have been crafting stories ever since I could talk.

These days, I love to write about the complexities of love and one’s mortality. I tend toward sci-fi/fantasy in my writing because I love quantum physics, the multiverse theory and that time is just a concept. This gives me a lot to play with, and the freedom to explore love stories outside the framework of death and the constriction of linear time.

Altogether, since 2016 I have published five books. I am currently working on my sixth and have plans for my seventh.

My books tend to be quite meaty. The three books in the Transcendence series (of which The Lost Valor of Love is the first) are of epic length. The first two books are about 150k words each and the final book is 220k words.

Born in Cuba and raised in Central America, R.J. Pineiro spent several years in the midst of civil wars before migrating to the United States in the late 1970s, first to Florida to attend Florida Air Academy in Melbourne. There, RJ earned a pilot's license and high school diploma in 1979, before heading to Louisiana for college.

R.J. earned a degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University in 1983 and joined the high-tech industry in Austin Texas, working in computer chip design, test, and manufacturing.
