Author Bio:
JRR was born in 1964 and grew up in a single parent home aboard the international space station orbiting the Moon. Early in life, his mentors recognized something in him that inspired them to push him to aspire to ever higher limits.

At age 15, after receiving his first two master’s degrees, in quantum physics and medicine, he climbed Mount Everest and was responsible for rescuing 34 stranded Sherpa guides and their clients from seven yetis and a host of saber-toothed snow leopards. With only a stick of gum, a pickle, and a paper clip he managed to create a complex series of challenges for the enemy which distracted the monsters while the Sherpa guides fled in JRR’s self-designed and self-constructed arctic exploration vehicle (which he assembled on site). After defeating the enemies he descended the mountain using the skins of the Yetis as a hang glider and became the first man to ever pee into a shot-glass from 2000 feet while breaking the sound barrier. (It is unknown if a woman had previously attained this prestigious title).

At age 20 JRR sailed across the Pacific Ocean on a raft made from handcrafted egg cartons, used sneakers, a tube of super glue, and seventy thousand tonnes of pressed flowers. On this perilous journey, he faced a school of thirty megalodons and fourteen giant prehistoric squids, slaying them all with his swiss army knife and rugged good looks, thus ridding the world of their species forever and saving future egg-carton sailors from certain doom. He was presented with the international “Legendary Nautical Creature Slayer” award by the union of international Marine Guys. It was also on this same trip that he discovered (without question) the truth that the world was indeed a sphere when he ended his Pacific crossing by landing in Halifax harbor, on Canada’s east coast. After delivering the Titanic survivors he had rescued along the way, and confirming his astronomical findings to the authorities he was joined by legendary musicians/composers Frank Zappa and Jimmy Hendrix. Both of whom were so humbled by his greatness that they offered to teach him to play guitar if he signed their pizza boxes. He declined, saying: “Guys, you already did teach me everything you know” and signed their boxes anyway. He then went on to form a band with the aforementioned musical geniuses, winning that year’s Grammy Award for Best New Album in all styles and kick-starting Frank and Jimmy’s careers. He did so under several assumed names, of course.

When he was 27 JRR decided to visit England where he spent his days tutoring the physically disabled, curing polio, running an international endangered animal rescue center, and inventing Break Dancing. His favorite student, Steven Hawkins, (who at first wanted to dance) would later be praised among his peers in physics for his almost legendary ability to remain completely still for hours at a time. He was able to achieve this through JRR’s teaching in the art of self-defense known as Tai Huan Ahn. It was also there in England where he invented the dog breed known as the Corgi, base jumped from the Big Ben clock tower, discovered and colonized France, and acted as the MC for the grand opening of the massive tunnel under the English channel (which he also designed). The queen of England herself awarded him with “The Royal Decree of All-Time Greatness” and purchased more than seven hundred corgis from his rescue center. She also made him heir to the throne and said he was officially the sexiest man on earth. (a title he maintains to this day)

He declined the British Throne and instead asked for Canada’s independence (which he was granted – making the colony of Canada free and turning it into a democracy at last). On top of that, he was also given ownership of Scotland which he soon gave back to the Scottish people and in turn was awarded a position of lifetime nobility, making him their king for all time and leading to his starring role as William Wallace in the mega motion picture “Brave Heart”. So impressed were the Danes and Icelanders that they too voted him in as their King for life, and soon after that nineteen other countries around the world followed suit. Such was and still is his greatness.

All of these honors he politely declined, stating that he simply didn’t have the time to invent the internet discover the cure for The Black Plague, teach Gordon Ramsay to cook, develop a propulsion system for interstellar exploration, win the Olympic gold medal in the triathlon, and be everyone’s king all at once. After teaching these countries the art of democracy and trusting they would be okay without him, he awarded them their independence and went on to earn a Masters degree in Greatness from the University of All-Time Awesomeness.

However, all of this was not enough to quell his passion for adventure and a need to challenge his greatness. At age 30 he married the princesses of Turkmenistan and fathered three hundred and eleven children all of whose names he remembers and is able to list in the form of an operatic version of “Atomic Dog” by George Clinton – to whom he taught the art of “Funk”.

Alas, this too would not be enough for him to fill his life. When his last child was grown up and on her own being the President of Wakanda, he retreated from society, secluding himself in a cave on top of Mount Fuji for seventy seven years where he astral-projected nightly into another cave on top mount Kilimanjaro on Canada’s south coast near a minor province known affectionately as America. It was there on those very same cave walls where he wrote his tomes of power known as The Adventures of the Great Neblinski (Still being studied to this day by the most intelligent minds on the planet). It is said that he remains there, in those caves, protected by a thousand ninja warriors and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police commanded by Joe Pesci, writing impossible stories that challenge the limits of human achievement. It is also said that one day he will return to his chosen homeland of Liechtenstein on the yet undiscovered continent of Australia, where he will invent water, discover a new type of food, solve the energy crisis, and make first-contact with interdimensional intelligent societies with his best friends and trusted advisors (and founders of the JRR Tokin fan club) Barak Obama, Peter Jackson, Mike Wazowski and Geddy Lee.

The client casually mentioned it in a briefing meeting at our ad agency.
‘Well, we do donate our product to the Wild Dog Breeding Project’ he said.
Now, I love dogs, always have. They’re the masters of unconditional love, and we can learn miles from them.
And Wild Dogs, or African Hunting Dogs, are a rare, and highly endangered species.
So I thought, well, if the dog food is good enough for an endangered species of wild dog, it must be damn good.
I suggested that along with a commercial, we do a documentary – on wild dogs – where the client’s product would be seen feeding the wild dogs, and helping nourish and nurture them until they were ready to be released out into the wild.
The thinking was, that dog lovers love most all dogs, and they would watch a program about re-establishing an endangered species of canids.
Attach to this that the program, and the food, was sponsored by the well-known dogfood brand, Dogmor, and you should have a good recipe for creating empathy with dog owners towards your brand.
‘Okay, so go and shoot the documentary’ the client said, after seeing the budget.
‘Whoa!’ I said. ‘I make 30 second commercials – we’re talking an hour long movie here. Not me, I’ll get…
‘We want you to do it’ the client said flatly.  That’s when I knew I’d better find a good wildlife team to cover my ass, and fast.
I did. Terry van Rooyen and Leon Rivas, experienced wildlife cameraman and sound man respectively, came to my rescue.
Next on the team was a crucial ingredient. Dr. MGL ‘Gus’ Mills, Specialist Scientist at Kruger National Park, and an expert on canids.
Then of course there was Ann van Dyk and her team at the renowned de Wildt Breeding Centre. We had the recipe. Now we needed the footage.
We had the privilege of spending the next few weeks in Kruger Park with Gus Mills, and he was able to track key wild dog packs for us, as he had radio collars on specific individuals within the packs.
This made our lives a lot easier, as we could find our heroes every day, quickly, in two million hectares of African bush.
On about the fifth day, the dogs decided to do us a really big favor and killed two impala right in front of us. This was something other wildlife teams earlier in the year had been trying to get, at great expense, without any luck.
Those hours out there, watching these unique animals, who allowed their pups, their old or lame, to feed before them, and would regurgitate at will for those other dogs who demanded food, taught me a lot about teamwork.
We got back to the edit suite with bundles of great footage and interviews, and even a little of the breeding centre dogs eating the client’s product, as well as dogs being released into the wild.
Somehow, I managed to script a one hour movie when I was used to writing about sixty words for a commercial. Oh yes, we did the commercial as well.
So when the movie flighted on national TV for the first time, there were two firsts for me.
My first wildlife movie, and my first wildlife movie interrupted by commercials I had made.
Sales and take off were good, and thanks to the client for their faith in us.
The movie went on to win Best Wildlife Film at the IUCN World Congress, and for this I can only thank Terry, Leon, Gus, Ann and the post team.
But. The seed was planted. Hey, I could get out in the wild and make movies there, which made a change from discussing skin tone with tall willowy blondes, and debating with a client about  whether ‘new ‘ or ‘improved’ would improve a creative concept.
So, I started wildlife film-making. Hallelujah. Now, after about twenty five years, I’m giving back.
My book ‘How to Make Wildlife Films: The Handbook’ will be out within a month, on Amazon and iBooks, and gives potential newcomers to this great arena, tips and tricks, and time-saving lessons learned, as well as video clips and links, to get a head start on the profession.

I owe a lot to that dogfood commercial.

After that I was lucky to make wildlife films around the world, films that were flighted on National Geographic Channel, Discovery, Animal Planet, and other channels around the world. They picked up a number of international awards on the way, but the main journey was doing what I loved, where it mattered.

To date, I’ve written and produced over fifty broadcast scripts for documentaries, and this really is my speciality, although I have now published several books.

Funny he had not noticed it before but the envelope seemed to contain an object of some weight. He fingered the object trying to make sure, what it was. The seal was still not broken.

“Wahl there isn’t, much of a range war, but there are other things to be careful of, ever heard of Sadie Glory? She and her husband started the town a while back. They filed land claims and, mining claims on the whole dang Valley. She owns the town and all that’s in it, lock, stock, and all the barrels.”
Dan answered. “Well no, I never had heard of this place before I got sort of lost, and read the signpost. What’s so special about this town called, Glory City?”

The Camp man answered. “Well I know some, about it, what you need”
“Can you tell me where I can get a meal and a bed? It’s been a long ride and my pony is about given out”.
The man sitting at the fire was taking the measure of the stranger. He decided to speak a little more and find out some about him.
“Wahl you might be better off, not going in now, it’s just now getting on to dark, things can get, pretty wild about this time of day”.
Dan nodded his head.
“Yeah I have saw places like that before, but can you feed one more, from that stew pot there.”
“Sure we can help you out, get down, and rest yourself, my name is Sam Manford. That’s my partner, Archie Larson, over there.” He nodded toward the other man.
“Yes I saw him step behind, that boulder when I was riding in.”

Almost all western settlements had a town drunk. Usually, a guy who felt he knew all about everybody else’s business. But he probably did not know enough, to have a business of his own. Dan ran across “Ole Floppy”, at the first store he went to, The General Store.
The handsome man, they called Floppy, was tall, slim with Black curly hair. His nice Blue eyes had a steady gaze. He was sort of a loose-jointed, easygoing type. Strangely, he had a serious look at times, just serious enough to let you know he was not a complete fool. And, there were a few other small things about him that did not seem to fit, his station in life. Dan felt that Once Floppy had been something besides a town drunk.

LUCK AND RELIGION
Once, I asked myself; why was I always wanting some help, couldn’t I face life without help? Then I remembered about my having all this luck, and what a help it was.
And, having all that much luck is almost like being blessed, by a Deity of some kind. It might seem strange but that is why we Irish guys, cuss so much, we’re talking to our personal Deity. I know that a lot of people don’t like to hear “profanity”.
Well I think, they are so godless, that they don’t know how, to get the attention, it takes, from a deity. Them deities are busy if you want to say something to them; you have to lay it on the line quick, and not waste too much of their, time. Now, I don’t tell others how to talk to their deity, they shouldn’t object when I talk to mine, but they do. Morally Corrupt? No.
EMPLOYMENT
Well I mostly, got that damn squirrel problem fixed. I had about all the luck I could stand for a while, so I decided to get on with my life. That experience told me, I was not cut out to be a, paintbrush sales clerk. It just is too complicated to think about anymore. Yes, all these things were going through my mind, as I rode the train south. I was in such an agitated state of mind; I had started, drinking a lot of that strong Coffee that I loved. That did the trick.
To calm down, I would get out and run every so often. Then get back on the train, it did not seem to help any. Then I saw what I was doing wrong. I had been getting off in the middle-of-the train, running, and then getting back on, in the middle.
Now I had a better idea. Get off at the back, run to the front, and get back on at the front. That way I had gained the whole length of the train. Then I would walk on top of the cars, to the back, jump off run to the front. Now I had gained two train lengths. Man, with thinking like that, I might someday be a Senator.

Three very well-done books have been published. All of these efforts produced detailed recommendations and observations and all are publicly available. I commend them to you.

My effort touches on the broad sweep and events of the tragedy and investigation, but if you want the detailed story of the final voyage of the ship, you’re better off with the other books. My main goal here is to show how the SS El Faro fit into a larger system and culture — one that I have been covering off and on as a journalist and author for 38 years.

It’s this system, I feel, that will result in another SS El Faro someday unless it is reformed.

Another note on style. My preference in non-fiction is “narrative.” In other words, whenever I can, I tell a story and show what is happening; I prefer that to “telling” the reader, because I think “showing” is more readily absorbed. Humans learn through stories. Story telling rather than a lecture better illustrates the emotions at play here, as well as the moods, culture, and vibe of the ship and the industry. This does not mean I take a pure poetic license. The dialogue quoted here is real, not made up. The material is factual.

If you’re curious about my chosen name, I can tell you how it came about. I was once an inanimate small Russian Orthodox church in Serafimovich in Volgograd Oblast. I was brought to life during a 3:00AM “witching hour” satanic rite conducted by a small cult that had never done much before and not much since. I am it’s lone claim to fame.

Although I promptly refused the cultist’s demands that I storm through the town leaving a path of destruction (my refusal seemed to surprise and upset them) I knew I would not be welcome in the world of mankind. Who wants a big (even a small church is big) moving church wondering around asking questions and raising even more questions?

I left for the broad open plains in the surrounding areas. I usually stayed still during the day and wondered about at night assuaging my curiosities so as to cause the least alarm among the residents. The cultists did pursue me with great insistence and continued demands for me to be violent. They claimed I owed to them for utilizing the souls of deceased Nazis from nearby Stalingrad in order to bring me to life.

Despite the politeness of my refusals they eventually, the fourth night, took to throwing Molotov cocktails at me. Ever been set on fire? I’ll share this with you: not fun. I do not recommend it. Having newly mobile drain spouts and gutters and ready access to streams saved my hide. My shingles, too.

This went on night after night and, let me tell you, it got old quick. Then… things got worse. The Angels showed up. The avenging kind. Revenge for what? Well, as they claim, I guess I am some kind of “abomination before God”. I really don’t get that “before God” part. Is it OK to be an abomination behind him?

So, unlike the Molotov cocktail throwing cultists, these Avenging Angels utilized lightning bolts. But, just like flaming Molotov cocktails, those lightning bolts got old quick. Real quick.

So, how am I still here to tell you about all this and how can I even type it? I will tell you.

I’m really quite a lucky church even within bouts of bad luck. Just two months before the cultists animated me the priest of my church needed to replace the lightning rod on me. A rusty contraption poorly assembled and a hazard to the churchgoing folk.

A normal average-sized lightning rod could never have absorbed those Avenging Angel lightning bolts. However, my priest was a proud priest and he wanted me to be taller than that other Orthodox Church on the Western edge of Serafimovich. By doggedly yelling at the congregation seven Sunday’s in a row he raised enough money to have the biggest lightning rod in all of Volgograd Oblast installed on me, thus bringing my height up an additional seventeen feet.

So, I mostly absorbed those lightning bolts. Those Avenging Angels were very upset and I did feel bad for them but, hey, what choice, right?

Some lightning bolts did get through when shot from near enough and at certain angles. Hurt bad! Note: Pain is one of the biggest drawbacks to being brought to life. I think we can all agree on that.

One benefit of Avenging Angel’s lightning is poor aim. By accident this led to a sharp decrease in the population of cultists. The downside of Avenging Angels is that they don’t need to sleep and never give up. They don’t get bored. They don’t lose focus. They just keep coming.

I didn’t sleep for twenty-seven days and the whole time was so painful.

Even my giant lightning rod was beginning to melt….

The end was coming for me. A big conflagration. Then ashes. Then Hell, right? They weren’t going to destroy me and then take me up to Heaven were they? Elitists, that’s what they are!

After twenty-seven days of this unfair lightning bolt abuse I was, by then, in Syria a bit North of the Sea of Galilee. I didn’t know where I was at the time, of course. I plunged into a river to escape or limit the bolts. I was so tired I thought I’d float and just sleep a while even if they were bolting me incessantly. I was that tired!

I even thought if I was lucky I wouldn’t even wake up at all….

I did fall asleep.

I did wake up.

I was on the shore on the West side of the river. I… wasn’t a church any more. I was… a Human? Still not completely sure if I am. Or what happened. Or where the Avenging Angels went. Or if they’re coming back after reloading on lightning bolts.

Humans need names. Why? People always ask. Like, usually right away. Turned out that the river I plunged into was the Jordan River. And, you know, I used to be a church. So, I tell people to call me Jordan Church.

I’m sort of in hiding now, but I’m really not sure if you can hide from Avenging Angels or if I still need to. Cultists would be more of a problem now though. I assume Molotov cocktails feel just terrible on human skin!

I write erotica because, as a human, I now have bills to pay. I used to be a building and now I have to pay to live in one! Oh, how I have fallen.

I chose erotica because it fascinates me. Hey, I’m only human!

I’ve devoured books since childhood when I saved my allowance for the next Nancy Drew. Even then I expected Nancy and Ned to do more kissing than crime solving, but, alas, that wasn’t to be. Moving on to historicals, more mysteries, and romances where I learned things, the puzzle got solved, and happy endings for the characters. One of the best things with on-going series is getting to check back with those characters. The HEA is great, but I want to know what comes next.
My favorite school assignment was making up a story. As you might guess, the written word is important to me. So is creativity. Besides writing mine has included baking, cake decorating, crochet, knitting, gardening, scrapbooking, and most recently, quilting. I’ve learned this creativity bent comes naturally from my mother’s side of the family. Many of whom I’ve come to know and love while living in Maine the past two years. We’ve traced our roots back over three hundred years.
Life is an adventure. For me, part of the adventure is seeing my grandchildren flourish, and, as always, the next creation: grown, sewn, or written.

Eventually the water cats attacked and killed a famous Ali Warrior for trespassing. The Ali tribe wanted revenge for the death of their strongest and most loyal protector of their land. And many months later the Ali attacked the kingdom and the royal family. The kingdom was destroyed, and many were injured and killed. The Ali believed they killed the entire royal family off, but the youngest son of the king and queen, Ocean Oceana, survived the attack and escaped into the outside world. Although Ocean almost died in the outside world, he was soon found and taken in by a family of doctors and nursed back to health after getting injured.

Getting paid to write something is difficult. Getting paid to write full-time, for a living wage, is shooting for the stars.

If you want to write for other people, not just for your own enjoyment, you need an audience. That brings us to why you are here. I hope to use my works, my website, and my Facebook page to build an audience.

Blogging seems to be a great way to start. I hope to entertain, inform, be insightful, and share some personal stories. I enjoy telling stories. My story:
“I wanted to be a physiotherapist but after a short stint at a clinic, I realized I didn’t like touching people. I went into academic research instead and published scientific journals and co-authored a couple of books.

However, that type of work, although important, wasn’t quite my passion. Plus, academic research can be a bit dry for my taste.
