At age twelve Amy’s path in tropical paradise came to a pause as she and her then single mother migrated to Toronto, Canada. An adventure that would last a decade for Amy. She struggled and (thankfully) failed to find a career path that took her too far away from writing, creating stories and seamlessly stitching her emotions into the fabric of intricately imagined characters or poignant lines of poetry.

Healing from the sudden death of her mother eventually led her back to Trinidad where she now lives and writes happily with her maternal grandparents and their various pets.

In 2015 Amy received the Gold Seal of Literary Excellence from Trafford Publishing and spent some time on Kobo’s bestselling list. These being just the wake up calls to get her back into writing after an ill-advised hiatus.
