On November 2, 2018 I sold my house, quit my job as a hospice nurse, took the equity from my home, both my kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats and moved into an apartment. It was a leap of faith, that challanged me every step of the way. But, I HAD to do it! After being at the bedside of thousands at end of life, I, well, I just could not be dying one day and not having LIVED in the way I was born to live. Though…it scared the hell out of me. It was scary to think I would leave here one day not having written the books in me, I had to leave it all behind.

It sounds crazy. A single mom. Selling everything, using all the equity I had to live off of, to write. To live in total alignment to my soul and the plan God/Spirit/Creator and I created together before I came here in this life.

As a hospice nurse, we share lives with patients and families. We meet others, where they are at. That means, we honor where they are at and their beliefs. You will find, like in hospice, I am not here to promote any belief. I am just here in love, to share life with you all. Connecting in love, pure and simple.

For those who like to know more specifics, I am a Registered Nurse. Graduated from Syracuse University and Trident Technical School. I have worked about 10 years as a hospice nurse. David Mayo was born in 1950 in Houston, Texas. His earliest career was as a Data Processing Specialist, the precursor to modern day computing. Within 20 years he was running IT customers and began a new career in Technical Writing. That led to a long stint in the medical industry. He has been an MIS Director, the head of a large Project Management Office and a contract technical writer.

‘Adriana (REALITY 0NE)’ is 83,792 words long and was, to a degree, inspired by the Scarlett Thomas novel ‘The End Of Mr Y’. I would expect it to appeal to a similar readership.
The premise of this book, which is gradually revealed, is that:
The universe, at its most fundamental level, is underpinned not by matter, energy or quantum chaos, but by a layer of information that creates all of reality, ‘the information layer’.
That consciousness is the product of the same and that lucid dreamers can sometimes access a sort of ‘collective unconscious’ that exists within this realm. Inside this timeless zone, knowledge from the future bleeding into the past becomes a possibility, but no paradox occurs when this happens because history gets ‘rewritten’ to accommodate any change and a ‘discontinuity’ is said to have occurred. However, if a sufficiently large change takes place, the line of least resistance is no longer just a ‘discontinuity’ and then a ‘phase transition’, within the information layer, can occur in which all events and therefore all those conceived beyond the historical point of the change, run the risk of having never existed.
The book begins with autistic savant, Adriana, aged seventeen, who has just been moved to ‘protected housing’. Institutionalised after she accidentally caused the death of her twin, she is treated by her psychiatrist, Raj Banerjee, who is fascinated by her remarkable dreams. As her condition improves she decides to walk outside by herself for the first time, but soon gets lost. She ends up in a park, in the night and gets attacked but, to her surprise, she is able to fend off her attacker. Injured, she is effectively rescued by four new friends who take her back to her flat and there discover old papers and books left by her late mother.
She embarks on a journey, with her new friends, in search of mysterious notes that they believe, as a result of these papers, were written by her father before the Second World War.
Gabriel Smith, having been contacted by a future version of himself, in a shared dream, believes Adriana will prevent the Second World War from starting (itself the product of a ‘phase transition’) and is, therefore, a threat to himself and his family. He pursues her, intent on her destruction.
Gabriel murders Banerjee, for much the same reason but, before he dies, Banerjee tells his friend, Dr Frank Carver, of a strange dream he thinks he shared with Adriana. Her absence and the dream suggest to Frank that she may be involved, so he heads off in pursuit as well.
After a number of extraordinary journeys through a black hole, the mind of a prehistoric woman and to an alien world, there is a climactic struggle in which Adriana is killed by Gabriel. Although death’s not the end of the story, not in my book. To the protagonist’s surprise, however, this event does lead to the rather unfortunate breakdown of the laws of physics and the catastrophic end of the world. This is because, as is finally realised in the last part of the book:

“This information was somehow becoming conscious, becoming sentient. The universe was starting to know itself, and its name? Its name was Adriana!”

Owing to a remarkable series of events in an isolated region of the Himalayas, I encountered an extraordinary group of people and, through those encounters, was privileged to learn that much of the secret knowledge of the ancient Zhang Zhung culture has not only been preserved, it is powerful, richly illuminating, and utilized to this day. As the reader will discover, these shrouded secrets formulate the explorations in this book.
As one of their most illuminating concepts, those traditions relate that there is a group of esoteric teachings—the ‘Four Portals’—which set forth the true nature of physical reality and techniques of powerful elemental magic, or “sorcery.” The first traces of the teachings are thought to have appeared as part of the lore of the pre-Tibetan Zhang Zhung culture that arose in Tibet several thousand years ago, but may have originated far earlier. Being a forbidden body of knowledge, said to convey enormous powers, the teachings disappear from the historical record for countless centuries, not to reemerge until the 7th century A.D. in the arcane scriptures of the ancient pre-Buddhist B’on religion.
According to those ancient traditions, the teachings of the ‘Four Portals’ were formulated by the earliest known “Buddha-like” master, Tonpa Shenrab Miwoche. The B’on traditions relate this historic event as occurring as early as 18,000 to 16,000 B.C. Although still shrouded in mystery, our most recent research indicates that the extant evidence places the earliest date of the Zhang Zhung culture at about 6,000 B.C., although the date of 18,000 to 16,000 B.C. may indicate the existence of a true Zhang Zhung or pre-Zhang Zhung culture existing prior to the ‘Younger Dryas Boundary’ cataclysmic event that effectively erased early civilizations from the historical record.
Much like our most recent historical Buddha, Shenrab renounced his life as a prince of the royal family to become a monk. Over a period of “many years,” the traditions relate, he gained access to secret knowledge that had been imparted, recorded, and hidden away some two-thousand years earlier by an entity known as “Gekhoe.” With this knowledge Shenrab achieved enlightenment and “otherworldly powers,” then later composed a comprehensive body of teachings to instruct qualified seekers on the means and techniques of attaining the most elevated wisdom and power. That secret knowledge is explored in this book.

May became June, which became July, which became August, and I didn’t see Ghost … although I left him something every day, something which was always gone when I returned, at least at first. By September, however, he’d stopped taking what I left him completely—nor would he appear when called—and I began to worry. That would have been about the time I started getting serious with Jenny—holding hands at the indoor skating rink, kissing for the first time in the balcony at The Muppet Movie—as well as my first growth spurt, all in the legs, which made me feel gangly and insecure but also made me taller than Jen, which I liked, and which she liked, too.

It was also around the time the murders started happening, and what become known as the Comet’s Tail Mangler—at first just in the local paper but soon the national ones as well and finally the NBC Nightly News—started making waves across the country. Nor was that the only national news story to touch me; for my parents’ missing flight was back in the spotlight also—primarily because the business tycoon who had resumed the search (after the Coast Guard and Federal Aviation Administration abandoned it) had now given up, too.

For Shad and my grandma, it was case closed—again. For me, it was the beginning of a season of denial that would last clear through September and into the school year; a season in which I became more convinced than ever that my parents were still alive. “Denial can be a powerful thing,” my mother had once said (I believe it was in the context of someone’s rumored drug and/or alcohol addiction), but for me, in that fear-addled fall of 1979, it became something more; something akin to an obsession or even a psychosis; something which rendered me deaf, dumb, and blind—to the news of wreckage having been spotted by a private flight out of Honolulu in the wee hours of Christmas morning; to the reports of the victims of the Mangler having been mauled as if by an animal—mauled, and partially eaten. Indeed, I had even begun looking forward to introducing them to Jenny (when they were finally picked up from Gilligan’s Island, which is how I imaged their circumstances), had even selected a date: New Years, 1980—the day the call would come. The day the news would be announced that survivors had been found and that they were in good health; the day we would drive to the airport in Grandma’s black GTO and watch my parents descend the steps like soldiers returning from Vietnam, their faces tanned from the South Pacific, their necks adorned with leis.
