My name is April Maguire Hale, and I have been writing since the day my father taught me how to use a pencil. My style and desire to share my visions with others ranges in all genres including poetry, short stories, inspirational, devotional, self -help, and fiction.

Over the past years, I have written a variety of books that are successfully published and distributed through Amazon.com, and Kindle. My first book, Reflections of a Mom, is a collection of short stories and poems that tell the story of my trip across country with my son. The first three of the “Academy” series include, The Academy: Constellations and Curses; The Academy: The Headmistress and the Howling, and The Academy: Specters and The Blade of Miracles. Both my son and I are excited with the prospect of more titles to come.

One of my most successful books comes from my desire to engage and help others in becoming the best person they can be. It’s called, Mission Possible :YOU! and it is a collection of 28 individual tasks to help the reader find a way to appreciate every day of life, and to stretch their minds and ideas to think outside the proverbial box. Reality takes a new turn in this
twisted story of man meets woman, woman meets man, man must then choose between the woman in his arms, or the woman who writes the book.

When I’m not writing, I can usually be found baking something delicious in my kitchen or hanging out with my son, sometimes filming short videos or movies. JayRex is an newly discovered film maker/screen writer who also has books and movies distributed through Amazon prime. His documentary, Life, What’s the Point, is a heart warming film showing the many faces of love, and giving depth and insight into the true meaning of happiness.

Writing has always been my number one passion, and I have enjoyed putting ink to the paper for as long as I can remember. The ability to share my love for creating stories helps me to persevere and give to other aspiring authors. I can only hope that my imagination spurs others on to read and write as well.

So who is the real Faas Kramer?

Born in 1966 in the Netherlands, Servaas Kamerling was a middle-child. When he was almost three, the family moved to East Yorkshire in England where father became a reknown glasshouse grower. Optimistic in nature, smart in class, athletic on fields and socially apt, Servaas grew up a fortunate and happy lad.

On 14th July 1981, a week after completing the Lyke Wake Walk, Servaas fell out of a tree and broke his back. T12 and L1 vertebrae were dislodged from the column, severing the spinal cord. He would never walk again.

After seven months of gruelling rehabilitation, Servaas had learned to become independent again. Determined to take life by the horns, Servaas quickly adopted a no excuses attitude. Following his parents separation in 1983, he moved back to the Netherlands where he attained a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Delft.

The completion of two full marathons forced a sports career decision and Servaas chose basketball. His first major championship was the World’s in Melbourne in 1986. His last was in Sydney 1998. His career spanned fourteen years with a Paralympic Gold and Silver to show. Following six years as Marketing Officer for the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Europe, he received the Honorary Member Award from the Dutch Basketball Association (NBB).

Servaas worked at Philips for six years before moving to Belgium to work for General Electric, Tyco Electronics/ELO Touch Solutions and back to United Technologies (acquired from GE) in the capacities of international Product Manager, Director and regional President.
