Mark McCabe was born in Brisbane, Australia, later moved to Sydney and then to Canberra, the Australian capital city, where he completed a career in the Australian Government and Australian Capital Territory’s public service agencies.

Upon retiring, Mark and his family moved to New Zealand and took up residence near Dunedin.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Classics, Latin and English from the Australian National University.

Mark’s favoured genres are fantasy (predominantly epic and high fantasy) and science fiction, although he does hope to write a series of crime novels at some stage in the future. He cites Robert Jordan, David Gemmell, Jack Vance and Ursula Le Guin as key inspirations and influences.

In his spare time, Mark is an amateur photographer and a keen student of the classics, with a particular focus on Rome as well as ancient myths and legends such as the Trojan Cycle.

The bear was smiling at Flame’s mate, and the dragon in him made the fight a bit more real than he had intended. When he hit the door, he stole the shifters’ attention from her. They should not look at her with desire. She was his. Nightshade was treasure.

“There you are Nightshade, I thought I had lost you there for a minute.” He slurred his words and stumbled a bit. His adversaries immediately assumed he was drunk, and they turned to face him.

“Go away, Flame. You have had too much to drink.”

The little imp was playing along with him. He would have grinned at her if it would not have given him away to the other men. God, he loved her. She was more perfect than he could have ever imagined. He stumbled closer to her.

“I’m sorry, Nightshade. Please forgive me. I swear I can be good.” He slurred the words as he begged her. She looked at the other men around her as if she were helpless to deal with Flame. Nightshade was too good at this game.

The bear took the bait first. “Do you need help getting rid of this fool, ma’am?”

The bear made her the offer. The wolves nodded agreement with the bear’s sentiment. She nodded and looked away from them. She had all three of them at once. Damn, even her power was sexy.

“Don’t run from me Nightshade. I need you.” Flame told her. That was easy. It was true. He did not have to act it.

“She asked you to go away. I think you better leave her alone.” The bear spoke to Flame. The shifters thought it would be easy. They had no idea he was a dragon.

“Mister you need to move away from my lady before you regret it.”

Flame’s words had a harder edge to them than he had intended. Nightshade was his. The dragon inside did not want these men looking at her with desire. She was his mate. Flame was having a harder time keeping up his pretend drunkenness as his adrenaline spiked up in anticipation of the fight. He stepped slowly forward again trying to appear drunkenly wary. He stared the bear in the eye. The challenge was extended.

I live in El Paso, Texas at the moment but am serious about getting out of the desert. I love Texas, but I need some trees and water. I grew up in the country in Tennessee. I miss water. Soon maybe!
I fell in love with the Tyler Longview area of East Texas years ago. So that’s why the setting for the series.
I still work the day job. I do have to pay the bills. The kids, the dogs, and my mom all still like to eat even if I would rather write. Books have always been my great escape, but it was a super boring meeting that I had to attend as I was part of the department that changed everything. I already knew what the meeting was about. I had done that training the year before. So I sat in the back and began the story of Eli and Luke that would eventually become the first book of the series Draoithe: A Pack forms.
It was the worst book ever written. When I finished it, I hated it. I remember thinking that a five year old could have done better. It was boring. Maybe someone would want to read it, but I would have been ashamed of it. I could not even get excited to learn how to publish it.

So I began reading because that way I did not have to look at the miserable failure of a book I hated. My ebook habit was like a minor addiction. Thankfully there is no rehab for that. But I read constantly and began the tale again. The character’s names stayed the same. I kept the first scene, and I wrote another book, a better book with a way better story line.

I love fantasy and romance so this time I wrote the story the way I would want it to be. It was going to be a short series, maybe a trilogy. Then it was going to be eight books. The seventh book is published. The prequel will be out in less than a week. The unedited series has nine more semi-finished books and parts of at least four more already. Maybe it will have twenty books. I don’t know.

If I get to finally leave the desert and quit the day job, maybe I will figure out how many books it takes to finish the story. The good news is that I know what the ending is about. That took me over a year to work out.

The main author of this book is my son, Arnold Mintz. Arnie is only five years old, so his authorship experience has started quite recently. Some time ago Arnie’s mom gave him a present – a black-and-white toy panda, it was with him all the time – day and night. Arnie couldn’t even share this toy with his younger sister because he loved this panda so much! We liked collecting new information about the life of these beautiful animals and one day we started drawing them.

Hi! I am Emanuel Lira and my pen name is Seth Clay. You might be asking yourself: “Why did this guy choose a pen name and not use his real name?” Well, it’s a sheer marketing strategy. I decided to choose “Seth Clay” because my hometown in Brazil is famous for its clay handcraft; so I tried to find a name that had to do with clay and stuff. I first thought about “Adam”, but that would sound too obvious, so I came up with “Seth”, who, in the Bible, was Adam’s son. And, besides, “Seth” is my favorite name in English. I asked an American friend what he thought and he liked it, so I went with it.

I am 40 years old and originally from Brazil. I’m an English teacher, a translator and now, a writer. I have a Degree in Language Teaching and went to Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island where I got to study for a year as a Graduate student. I have always enjoyed cartoons, reading comics, video gaming and anything related to the geek culture. Before starting out as a children’s book author, I had written a chapter or two of a novel I had been working on, but quickly quit. I guess it just didn’t feel right to work on a book that just wouldn’t flow and have the right feeling.

“The Careless Kitty” is my first children’s book and It had been saved on my computer for two years before I finally decided to get it published. It was originally written in Portuguese – “O Gato Ingrato” – literally translated as “The Ungrateful Kitty”, a title I first thought about using, but later gave up because I’d been told the word “ungrateful” doesn’t sound very familar to a child, actually rather heavy. Anyway, I thought “careless” would be the perfect fit. The version in Spanish (Gato Ingrato) is pretty much the same as the one in Portuguese, except for a few slight changes. And the experience of publishing three titles almost simultaneously is surreal!

As of the story, it talks about Rascal (“Calvito” in Portuguese and Spanish), a lazy and careless cat that just sleeps on the sofa and won’t help mommy get rid of the mouse (Crumbles) that is terrifying her (Beth). The story is based on real events and it actually happened pretty much the same way as described in the book. (Calvin was his real name) was missing for almost a day before my friendly neighbor and I found him. The story explores traits such as love, family ties, friendship, animal care and is very fun and lovely. You and your kids will be in love with it!

I am super excited to share my experiences with you all. Lemme know what you and your kids thought about the book . I have other titles already in mind and can’t wait to get them all published.

I have a self-help spirituality book (3 parts, 23 chapters). The new book, “Affirmation Novenas” is for a large audience. The book is split into three parts. Part 1 consists of what I call “affirmation novenas”. These are nine-day positive affirmations based in part in mindfulness. The second part is called “Affirmation Literacy” and the power of thought and word management. The book becomes increasingly philosophical in Part III, called “Dystopia”, the idea being that it is important to recognize dystopian characteristics in ourselves and in the world and not be placid when it comes to either; almost all of the self-help and mindfulness books that have been written by the likes of Louise Hay, Abraham-Hicks, Wayne Dyer (etc) teach the reader to focus on the positive and not the negative which is all fine and well but how can we expect to change the world and have more paradigm shifts if we don’t find a way to have activists who can make a difference without becoming negative themselves? In other words, sometimes a platitude needs challenging, such as the idea that you should never think about something negative because what you think about expands. However, it’s often the negative that we don’t think about that expands for the very reason that we didn’t think about it. In Parts II and III, at the end of each chapter, there is an applicable affirmation novena.
