Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers
- The Philadelphia Series: The Complete Collection Boxed Set (In My Arms, A Part of Me, Out of My Element) - I discovered my love for books at an early age, spending many hours lost in someone else's story.
It wasn't until well into adult hood that I discovered, late at night while the house was quiet, that I had just as many stories inside me just waiting to be let out. Writing has been a way for me to step away from reality and live a bit through my fun and sometimes damaged characters. You will almost always find a Happy Ever After at the end of my stories. I can't help it, it's an addiction.
I'm a Southwestern girl living a Mid-Atlantic life with my husband of seventeen years and two incredible daughters who inspire me daily. I am proud to be an advocate for my child with autism, and feel incredibly blessed to be able to see the world through her eyes. She teaches me more than I could ever teach her.
I enjoy reading, writing and spending time with my family, but cherish those quiet nights after everyone is asleep when I can curl up on the couch with my fifteen year old dog (Shh, don't tell...He's not supposed to be on the couch.)
Keep an eye out for more from me!

- All I Want for Christmas is You - USA TODAY Bestselling Author, Lisa Mondello, has held many jobs in her life but being a published authors is the last job she'll ever have. She's not retiring! She blames the creation of the personal computer for her leap into writing novels. Otherwise, she'd still be penning stories with paper and pen. In 2011 she re-released her award winning book All I Want for Christmas is You along her romantic comedy, The Marriage Contract, and a new romance called The Knight and Maggie's Baby. In 2012 she reissued her popular series TEXAS HEARTS. Look for Dakota Hearts in 2013.
- Cause of Death by Renee Benzaim - I remember the first long story I ever wrote. I was in the third grade and my teacher, Miss Steere, asked us each to write a story about something in history.
I chose to write about the Donner party and the tragedies that befell them as they tried to make it to the wild west.
I went on and on. I was having so much fun and making up stories about the people and conversations between them. It was like a game to me. It didn't occur to me that I wanted to be a writer when I grew up. I wasn't even old enough to understand what it meant to be grown up.
Throughout school, whenever I had to write something, I always had a lot of fun with assignments. I remember writing about the Salem Witches when I was in high school and how exciting it was to make "real" people who lived then and, unfortunately, also died.
So what did I do when I was finally an adult? I worked as an accountant, secretary, draftsman of pre-fab metal buildings, I studied Criminal Justice and worked at the Sheriff's Department for a time, and I ended up with a career as a paralegal.
Well, that wasn't too bad. It encompassed a lot of research and writing and, in the meantime, I had actually written short stories, poetry, and two unpublished novels. I did have one non-fiction piece published in a magazine in the 80s. Yippee!
Now, I am a writer. I love my life and I hope you enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. I have a lot of fun with my characters and stories. To me, they are real people and my joy is sharing them with the you and the rest of the world.
- Celebrity Jokes - Valerie Hansen is one of America's funniest joke writers, having been published in the Los Angeles Times "Laugh Lines" section alongside such famous comics as Jay Leno, David Letterman, Bill Maher and Conan O'Brien, as well as having her jokes used on radio stations nationwide.
Valerie's comedy writing is completely original with no politics or foul language, although she often manages to twist everyday words into sexual connotations and innuendos that define her jokes in a "Late Night" style and keep her humor on the cutting edge for adults only. (Age 18+ is recommended)

- Bad Reputation - Born in California, I have spent most of my life traveling throughout the US. I draw inspiration from my many adventures, turning my strange reality into fiction.
Over the years, I've found myself in many unusual situations, ranging from hanging off an 80 foot cliff-face in New York, to sailing off the coast of Salem, Massachusetts. I have had an opportunity to work at an archaeological excavation, and have even reported from the middle of a police stand-off.
When a teacher asked me in the second grade what I wanted to be when I grew up, I didn't have an answer. To be honest, I still don't know. I let my characters make that decision for me.
- The Case of the Pig in the Evening Suit by RRGall - I decided to write something that was different from usual detective stories: Jin Johnstone is not a policeman, not an ex-policeman, not ex-military, in fact not really a private detective.

- The Guardians - K.L. Penington was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, which is what initially inspired the background for Emma and Evin. The passion behind K.L.’s writing comes from the ability to be anyone and do anything, and she can share the different personalities without anyone judging her—much. Currently residing in Wichita Falls, Texas, K.L. attends Midwestern State University, where she is in fierce pursuit of English degree. When not writing, K.L. can be found haunting the local coffee shop, nurturing an everlasting addiction to chai tea, or spoiling her only child, Lily, the small poodle with the big attitude.
- Rock Star Down - I'm a storyteller. A good story, well told, is the challenge laid by Robert McKee. That is my task.
Only once the characters are discovered and inhabited mentally and emotionally can the plotting begin.
The plot hangs upon the subtext created by the characters, by their motivations, by their actions and reactions. That creates suspense - the heart of story.
My characters are not merely characterization writ large. They have contradictions that I exploit with dilemmas. So expect drama, including a bit of melodrama. But I like multilevel conflicts and a touch of irony. Think simple and fun, yet complex.

Having lived on four Continents and visited over a dozen countries, he has plenty of fodder for events, places, characters, and situations to draw from.

Marc Webb grew up in a relatively poor environment. Not having access to the toys and other luxuries of the more "better-off" kids in the neigborhood, he turned to books and soon consumed up to three novels per day. He also cultivated his imagination by turning everyday objects like sticks and stones into battleships and castles. His love for storytelling began when he cut out the characters (in various poses) of a Superman comic. He would then re-structure the characters to play out hundreds of other stories that his mind conjured up. Today he likes to write thrillers and horrors and looks forward to creating interesting stories and characters with his friend and writing partner, Ben Finn.
- Alice in Wonderland (A Novel) by Elle Lothlorien - A “military brat,” Elle was born in Germany and spent her childhood in such far-flung places as Puerto Rico, Charleston, S.C., Italy, and Washington D.C. Sadly, the only language she ever became semi-fluent in is English.
Elle’s first self-published romantic comedy, The Frog Prince, became an Amazon bestseller in December 2010–a distinction it kept through the summer of 2012, when it peaked at #1 on Amazon’s Top 100 List for Humor ahead of both Tina Fey and Janet Evanovich. She was one of the first authors to sign on to Amazon’s KDP Select and to take advantage of that program’s “free promo days,” which she used on Valentine’s Day 2012 to giveaway 45,000 copies of her novels, catapulting her second novel, Sleeping Beauty, to the besteller list.
Elle’s appearance on the Digital Book World’s (DBW) Successful Self-Published Authors panel in January 2012 alongside New York Times bestsellers Bob Mayer and Bella Andre was noted in Publishers Weekly. In February 2012, she was named to Expert Messaging Group’s “25 Self-Published Authors to Watch.” She is considered a “reluctant expert” on the topic of self-publishing and consumer purchasing psychology, and she is well-known for taking advantage of her full creative control by pushing the envelope–and advising other independently published authors to do the same.
At the end of March, 2013, Elle was invited to give a two-hour self-publishing workshop at the annual Left Coast Crime conference to a standing room-only crowd of (mostly) traditionally published authors.
Elle has been interviewed for and contributed to articles on self-publishing for TIME Magazine (Andrew Rice) and Writers Digest (Porter Anderson). Her interviews have appeared in USA Today’s Happy Ever After (Joyce Lamb) and GoodEReader (Mercy Pilkington). She’s appeared on Authors on the Air with Pam Stack Trash Talk Show with Barb Tobias, Your Book Is Your Hook with Jennifer Wilkov, as well as Denver’s 9News.
Her fourth contemporary romance, Alice in Wonderland, was released in November 2012. Her current project, Gilding the Lily-pad, is the story of The Frog Prince—told from Roman Habsburg von Lorraine’s point-of-view. (You can read the first five chapters of Gilding the Lily-pad here: http://ellelothlorien.com/gilding-the-lily-pad/) What does Elle have in store after Gilding the Lily-pad? It could be the much-anticipated Rapunzel or a long-desired sequel to The Frog Prince, or she could tackle the sequel to Alice in Wonderland (called Through the Looking Glass…what else?).
Elle was one of ninety-three romance authors chosen to blog during the month of August 2013 (alongside 50 New York Times bestselling authors) as part of National Read-a-Romance Month—a month-long event “designed to celebrate and spotlight romance and the romance genre.” http://www.readaromancemonth.com/2013/08/day-20-elle-lothlorien-a-little-wish-fulfillment/
Elle lives in Denver, Colorado, and keeps a teenage boy and a miniature dachshund named Bacon around the house to provide comic relief.

- First Chapters - K.S. Brooks has been writing for over thirty years. She penned her first book, a swashbuckling action-adventure based in 17th century France, when she was fifteen years old. Since then, despite working for a living in the electronics industry, Ms. Brooks continued to write. In 2001, she left the high-tech arena in Boston for the Eastern Shore of Maryland to pursue her writing.
That same year, her first novel, Lust for Danger, was published. That action- adventure novel won Ms. Brooks Honorable Mention in the Jada Book of the Year Awards, and invitations to speak at the Maryland Writers' Association Writers' Conference, the Bay to Ocean Writers' Conference, and numerous other venues. She has been honored by the Maryland Writers' Association three times by participating as a judge in its annual novel contest.
As the business world and health issues took up more of her energy, Ms. Brooks set her sights on moving West to an environment more suitable and affordable to a writing career. Since her relocation to the wilderness of northeastern Washington State, late in 2008, Ms. Brooks has created and released sixteen titles, the majority through the small independent publisher Cambridge Books. Published genres include suspense, educational children's books, comedy, photography, non-fiction, and action-adventure. She has six more novels planned in the original Agent Night Adventure Series (action-adventure), two in the Agent Night 'Cover Me' series (suspense), a horror novel, and a number of Mr. Pish educational children's books in the works.
In addition to her writing, Ms. Brooks is an award-winning photographer and poet. Her articles, photographs, poetry, and blogs can be found in books, magazines, newspapers, galleries, and web sites worldwide. In December of 2011, Ms. Brooks was recruited to assist in the start-up of Indies Unlimited, a website dedicated to the independent publishing community. She now serves as co- administrator and blog partner to the multi-author, multi-national, and award-winning site.
Stephen Hise is the founder and co-administrator of the multi-author multi-national superblog Indies Unlimited. An avid supporter of the indie author movement, he launched the site in October, 2011, as a platform to celebrate independent authors, promote networking among and between authors and readers, and to showcase the dazzling array of talent in the indie author community.
