I enjoy making my characters miserable or rather they are miserable and I enjoy writing about their misery adding a sliver of triumph and a bit of love, here and there, to save them. I live in Northern California with a grumpy old dog and a Grumpa, my grumpy old husband. We love to travel the back roads of America looking for a place for the dog to pee. Ingrained with the impurities of being born and living Southern, and more importantly thinking Southern, I am Southern — much to the irritation of my blond purebred California surfer-boy-husband, who has to endure my need for Louisiana Hot Sauce. I have characters living in my head, having conversations about the silliest things, and when I write down what they say, I find I don't include myself in their musings. I started my first novel while in high school on a napkin while I was eating Jello in Luby's Cafeteria. The Jello was terrible — never did like Jello — but the story, I'm sure was award winning. I think I accidentally scooped that story into the trash can on my way to out of Luby's to find another place to practice my fine art of being truant from L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, Texas.
