Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers

  1. Children book – Kitchi And The Avalanche (Kitchi’s Adventures) [Kindle Edition] - Quote from Rose: "With two children of my own, I must tell stories! Storytelling has been used as a teaching tool for centuries now. It's the best way to teach a child, knowing they will actually learn something. After all, life without stories would be boring, at least for a 6-year-old!" Rose McKey began writing as a teenager. By the age of thirty, writing had become her career. Most of her earlier works are animal-based, in both the fiction and non-fiction categories. However, her love for fantasy and adventure led her to produce further books in these genres. More recently her focus has been set on children's tales, where she uses her storytelling talents to relay special and easy to understand messages to children. Storybook characters come to life in each adventure, helping children to better develop their morals and understanding of life.
  2. HAMMOCK SPIDERS by Clint Gleason - Amazon has given me the opportunity to publish my stories and it's a dream come true. A few that have influenced me are Richard Matheson(I AM LEGEND was published in 1954 but could have easily been written yesterday. It’s brilliant and a thrilling read, a precursor to the vampire and zombie stories told today and I highly recommend it if you’re a fan of science fiction and horror), Orson Scott Card’s ENDER’S GAME(probably the best science fiction book I've ever read), Stephen King’s THE MIST(One of my favorites from him. King has a terrific instinct for human behavior and it's apparent in this story), and then there’s James Cameron’s film masterpiece ALIENS, which floored me so much when I saw it when I was 12 that I think it re-wired my brain.
  3. The Mine by John A. Heldt - John A. Heldt is a reference librarian who lives and works in Montana. The former award-winning sportswriter and newspaper editor has loved reading and writing since writing book reports on baseball heroes in grade school. Heldt is the author of THE MINE, THE JOURNEY, and THE SHOW, the first three novels of his Northwest Passage time-travel series. He will publish THE FIRE, the fourth book in the series, in September 2013.
  4. The Rooming House Murder - Kenny Miller is a former professional pilot with world-wide flying experience. He is also the author of three books and this book is the second book in a three book trilogy, The Story of Chance. His first book, The Co-pilot, starts in the skies over Africa and is a suspense thriller about a bad relationship between a co-pilot trying to improve his skills and a captain that has no intention of helping him. This captain is only interested in money and gets involved in a smuggling plot that may bring a suitcase nuke to the US unless Chance does something about it. The Rooming House Murder picks up the story of Chance once he gets home. If you are interested in flying, you will learn a lot about the subject in book one and if you are interested in the game of life, you will learn more in book two. Watch Chance deal with both as he tries to succeed.
