Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers

  1. THE BLEAK DOOR - I came into the world one year before a man would walk on the moon, at the end of a decade that held the dawn of change in its guts. I was raised during a special and complex time but I retain memories of profound sensitivity and a love of knowledge that impregnated the experiences of my childhood. I look back fondly on my afternoons in the neighborhood. I can still see old the cinema where sensations, words and images appeared as if by magic before my wide eyes. Time advanced with its sure steps and my love for the seventh art spread to a passion for literature. In the pages of books I discovered that prodigious spark which unites the author's tale to the depths of our imaginations. Through reading, writing and the tests life uses to shape us, I learned and grew. Creation and vision nested deep within me. One day, four years ago, the stream of words and images that I had intoxicated myself with for so many years as reader and spectator, along with the clarity conferred by life's challenges, gave way to the writer that had been lurking within me, waiting for the chance to break free. That is how “THE BLEAK DOOR” was concocted, an intense and powerful tale, one that sticks to your skin as soon as you take it in your hands. We will travel its pages together, setting off as spectators. We will move quickly into a world of unique sensations, down a winding path paved with fear, drama, doubt and reflection. It will force us to look within ourselves, to flee, to rediscover who we are. It is my hope, dear reader, that we remain forever united by this experience and that we may journey together always. Christian Baker THE BLEAK DOOR - A science fiction thriller novel
  2. Jessica’s Seduction - I have been a writer for about 30 years, having written numerous full length works of fiction and non-fiction, as well as many short stories.
  3. PREEMPTIVE REVENG by Elizaveta Mikhailichenko and Yury Nesis - Elizaveta Mikhailichenko and Yury Nesis write in Russian and live in Jerusalem. They are not afraid to write about what they think, nor are they afraid to think about things that are unacceptable or frightening to contemplate. “We are not interested in norms or disorders. We are interested in the person who finds himself in borderline states,” say the authors. “People and societies in states of extremity—these are our favorite themes to discuss with our readers.”
  4. Viking Fire - Growing up in Houston, Texas, Andrea has always enjoyed creating characters and stories. But it wasn't until she was in her late twenties that she started writing novels. What happened that ignited the writing flame in her fingers? Divorced, and disillusioned by love songs and stories. They exaggerate. She thought. Love and Romance are not like that in the real world. Then she met her husband and realized, yes love and romance are exactly like the songs and stories say. She is now a happy wife, and a mom to three kids (two boys and a girl). Once she heard about a writer who never let her characters deviate from the script. If they did, she just killed them. How sad, she thought. For her one of the best parts of being a writer is letting the characters have a mind of their own and seeing where the story takes them. She loves this quote from Robert Frost, which sums up her opinion on allowing the characters their freedom: “No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader.” ― Robert Frost Andrea writes fantasy, paranormal and historical romance. When not writing or reading, one may find Andrea dancing in Zumba. She is excited to work with Crimson Romance on her forthcoming debut paranormal romance, The Garnet Dagger. Everyone knows what happens when a vampire bites a human...but what if the victim is Elvin? Viking Fire is a forthcoming historical romance set in Ireland during the Dark Ages. What if you were engaged to marry your enemy-a Viking? She hopes you will enjoy the stories as much as she did writing them. She believes in the power of change and counting each moment as a blessing. But most importantly, she believes in love. Even if she has to fight for it.

  15. What Makes Me Special – Gru the caterpillar. (Children books – Garden Friends series) - Quote from Rose: "With two children of my own, I must tell stories! Storytelling has been used as a teaching tool for centuries now. It's the best way to teach a child, knowing they will actually learn something. After all, life without stories would be boring, at least for a 6-year-old!" Rose McKey began writing as a teenager. By the age of thirty, writing had become her career. Most of her earlier works are animal-based, in both the fiction and non-fiction categories. However, her love for fantasy and adventure led her to produce further books in these genres. More recently her focus has been set on children's tales, where she uses her storytelling talents to relay special and easy to understand messages to children. Storybook characters come to life in each adventure, helping children to better develop their morals and understanding of life.

A little about myself, I studied animation and worked as a 3D animator for a children's television show. I found the animation industry to be quite rewarding, but very unstable in Australia.
