Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers

  1. The Secret History of Hatty Ha Ha … ends - Here’s the bottom line… I love to laugh, I love to drink and I love to eat. I love writing. As a child I had stories going through my head. It took me a long time to realise I should write them down, therefore clearing my mind. Little did I know another one would pop up! I wanted to be painter since I was a child. I was told, while being assessed at the end of my art foundation, I should go into drama or be a stand-up comedian. I’m short, so even if I did ‘stand up’ it’d be hard to see me and I realise that was their way of telling me I was rubbish at art. I’ve worked in various jobs and I have been extremely lucky to do what I wanted to do… though I have a habit of changing my mind every so often. If you want something, go for it. The only thing holding you back is you. You only have one life so don’t say ‘if only’ say ‘well at least I tried’. Writing, like anything creative, is an exposure. Not everyone likes what you write, what you say or what you think… but some people do. That’s my focus. On the people who like what you write… what I write. And what keeps me going? Microdermabrasion and margaritas … seriously…
  2. The New Green Smoothie Diet - Maggie Fitzgerald is a natural health, diet and nutrition expert and author from California. She has dedicated a large part of the last two decades studying and researching the amazing health benefits of green and raw diets. She has three children and a loving husband. In her spare time she is an avid cook and enjoys hosting monthly dinner parties for her friends and family.
  3. Paulie - Where to begin? I'm originally from Claremont, New Hampshire. And after having moved more times than I care to remember, I finally found myself in North Carolina where I was fortunate enough to find my wife. Or did she find me? I've always had an interest in writing. (Funny coming from someone who couldn't stand the idea of reading a book as a child). How I come up with my stories varies. They could come from a dream, a life experience, a random thought, or even a song I was listening to at the time. If pertaining to the genre, well that varies from story to story. (I know what you're thinking). "Story to story? But you only have one." And that is true. But no worries, I have more coming soon. My interests include writing (of course), listening to music, reading, and my utmost favorite: spending time with my wife and little one.
  4. Olivia Brophie and the Pearl of Tagelus - Christopher Tozier was awarded a 2011 Individual Artist Fellowship from the State of Florida. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He lives in an unnamed Florida scrub where he often sees bears, coral snakes, and giant walkingsticks. Olivia Brophie and the Pearl of Tagelus is his debut novel and the first in the Olivia Brophie series. The sequel will be released in January 2014 by Pineapple Press. (The title is secret for now...but stay tuned!) Olivia Brophie and the Pearl of Tagelus was awarded the 2012 President's Book Awards Silver Medal for Children's Literature and the Honor Book Award from the Society of School Librarians International. It is increasingly taught in elementary and middle school classrooms in both Language Arts and Science classrooms. Besides devoting most of her time chasing her children around, Jamie uses her Interior Design background in helping with her family’s wedding decorating business. Being a wife and mother of four can be very demanding, but she will always find time for soccer, reading, chocolate chip cookie dough ice-cream, and Pinterest.
  6. The Forgotten Ones (Sunray Bay Series, #2) by Rachael H Dixon - Rachael H Dixon lives in the cold and windy northeast of England. She craves sunlight and warmth, and as such her skin is so white it's almost translucent. She's been writing ever since she could hold, albeit strangely, a pen, and her preferred genres are horror and urban fantasy. She has two novels published to date, which are part of the on-going tongue-in-cheek series called the Sunray Bay Series. When writing them she was massively inspired by all the British seaside resorts that formed a big part of her own childhood – especially Whitby, which was the town Bram Stoker wrote about in Dracula. She got to wondering what Mr Stoker would have thought about Whitby these days with its arcades, fish & chip shops and candy rock stalls – and that's when she decided to put a fun twist on the vampire genre. She has also had numerous short horror stories published on ezines and in hard copy anthologies. As well as writing, Rachael loves reading and reviewing fiction, going on walking adventures with her two whippets, drinking red wine (especially Chilean merlot), admiring Gil Elvgren art work and going on fairground rides (upside-down things, spinny things...it's all good). And she often wonders whether she's the only writer in the whole world who doesn't like coffee.
