Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers

  1. Valens Remembered – Prequel (Novella) by Sherrel Lee - Sherrel, as the daughter of an Emmy winning cameraman, learned early in life the dark secrets of creating all those incredible fantasy characters for the large and small screen. Refusing to be crushed at the discovery the monsters, aliens and Robby the Robot weren't real, Sherrel's imagination soared. She became a SELF-proclaimed voyeur of special-effects and expert at fictional character creation. This love of alternate worlds and possibilities led her to read, watch, and explore myth, legend, lore and the possibilities they offer. A result of this is "Valens" where Sherrel discovered a dark side. One that creates the hatred, greed, and desire for power her evil characters demand and need and reveals a side of her that terrifies her when she thinks about what goes on in the deepest recesses of her mind.
  2. Dark Visions - Meet Jonas Saul, an international bestselling thriller author. 3. THE RAVAGERS by Clint Gleason - Born in Seattle, Washington, Clint Gleason graduated from the Los Angeles Film School with a major in directing. After serving 3 years in the United States Army, he decided to turn his short film and movie ideas into short fiction.
  4. Greegs & Ladders by Zack Mitchell and Danny Mendlow - Mitchell Mendlow is the writing duo of Zack Mitchell and Danny Mendlow, co-authors of the newly released, free, Science Fiction Satire Novel "Greegs and Ladders." While specializing in Science Fiction and Satire realms, the two writers will also delve into more serious realms and other genres. Sometimes writing separately and sometimes collaboratively, the two plan to unleash a steady stream of short stories in the near future to help build a readership for 'Greegs' and many more future scribblings.
  5. The Last Prophet: Guarding Sophia by Claire Gager - Claire’s love of storytelling started when she was in the second grade at Garfield Elementary School and was asked by her teacher, Mrs. Lyons, to retell a version of Disney’s Lady & The Tramp as Claire understood it. It was on that day that a storyteller was born. Even at a young age, she was an avid reader and often retold the stories she read in her own voice, sometimes adding more interesting details for her listeners. Now, she retells the stories others have shared with her and her own life experiences by weaving them together. As an adult, she considers herself to be somewhat of a renaissance woman… someone who is many things to many people. She has self-published two other books under a different name in the Romance genre, but the Last Prophet series is closest to her heart, since it was a labor of love and faith that began back in the late-1990’s as an idea that she and one of her spiritual mentors shared in common. When she is not writing, she is an educator, a wife, a mother, a social justice advocate, and a loving and devoted family member and friend. Claire has served on church music ministries and considers herself to be a relatively good singer and guitarist (although not good enough to do so professionally in her own estimation). She currently lives in Southern California with her husband, and her two energetic “special needs” sons, and enjoys a simple life that is never dull. Claire believes in the sacredness and beauty in every person, and loves to meet new people. She hopes to meet and listen to her readers’ stories and hopes they enjoy the tales she shares.
  6. Coconut Oil: Nature’s Miracle to a Healthier, Skinnier and More Beautiful You! - Amber Cavill tries to find natural solutions for common ailments. Coconut oil is her favorite diet ingredient!
  7. The Eynan, by L.S. Gibson - I have been putting pen to paper, figuratively speaking, for most of my life but only in the last few years have I really pursued writing in a more serious manner, wanting to get my work published so others can read and hopefully appreciate it. I like to write in various genres, though science fiction, fantasy and historical are my favorites.
  8. Princess Ruby’s Make-Up Ballet Class - Deborah Bradley grew up as a proud Bostonian; She spent years enjoying baseball games at Fenway Park, summer vacations on Cape Cod, and riding "the T" to get wherever she needed. In her mid-twenties, life took her to the other side of the world, and what started out as 4 months in Australia turned into 10 amazing years. While in Oz, Deborah married a "good Aussie bloke", produced a blond-haired, blued-eyed daughter (something she couldn't have imagined in her wildest dreams), and then convinced them to spend some time on "her side of the world." She now spends her time: * taking care of her family, * writing children's books (see VitaMamaOnline.com/Kids-Books), and * sharing her hometown with families all over the world via her website, Boston Tourism Made Easy.
  9. Black & White - Erol Rashit was born in London. He studied ecology at the University of Liverpool, and obtained a PhD from the University of London for research into the effects of environmental fluctuations on species diversity. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and for several years he held the post of Chief Accountant at Imperial College. Having made enough money to fund his future (modest) requirements, he has withdrawn from the ‘rat race’ in order to concentrate on his main interest: techniques for examining the illusion of ‘the ghost in the machine’ and for tracing consciousness back to its true source.
  10. Camaraderie - Born in Wales, Dave Franklin published his first story in a fishing magazine at the age of sixteen. He emigrated to Australia in 1999 and made his living as a reporter, earning the distinction of being sacked twice by the same Perth-based newspaper group. He then spent nearly three years teaching English in Korea, during which the mortality rate of the children under his care remained at an impressive zero. He now teaches ESL to adults in Brisbane, helping (among others) Thai Lady Boys get to grips with their past participles. The major theme of Dave's small, character-driven stories is alienation, the symptoms of which include male immaturity, misogyny, dysfunctionalism, violence, self-destruction and a childish glee in winding up the politically correct. There are no car chases or explosions in his books; instead he prefers outlandish sex scenes while focusing on exasperated loners full of doubt. People who like his work tend to see its humour (and disdain for his own characters) whereas his harshest critics take everything at face value. Indeed, some observers would argue that the highlight of his writing career, which has seen him produce five novels, remains being published in a fishing magazine.
  11. Kept - Elle Field is a twenty-something chick lit author who lives in London with her boyfriend. She enjoys exploring and photographing Blighty's capital, seeing far too many musicals, and eating her way around London's culinary delights. Kept is her first novel, which will be followed by Geli Voyante's Hot or Not later this year.
  12. Now and Then by Bethany Chester - I am a young British author. I believe in including only necessary description in my novels, so that the reader can imagine the characters and scenarios for themselves. I wrote my first novella at the age of fourteen, and writing is something I am very passionate about. I tend not to write within a specific genre - instead, I start writing and see where it leads me!
  13. Amber’s Pathetic Life (Diaries of a Dorky Girl – Hilarious Book for Girls 8-14) - Marta Alexander wears many hats, including being a writer, translator and ESL tutor. She has 2 Master's degrees: in English and Russian. After classes and translating movies, Marta enjoys to use her vivid imagination in order to write entertaining stories for kids of all ages, teenagers and adults who are still children at heart. She also loves traveling the world with her husband and living in California.
  14. Lady Justice and the Watchers - Award-winning author, Robert Thornhill, began writing at the age of sixty-six and in four short years has penned thirteen novels in the Lady Justice mystery/comedy series, the seven volume Rainbow Road series of chapter books for children, a cookbook and a mini-autobiography. Lady Justice and the Sting, Lady Justice and Dr. Death, Lady Justice and the Vigilante, Lady Justice and the Candidate and Lady Justice and the Book Club Murders won the Pinnacle Award for the best new mystery novels of Fall 2011, Winter 2012, Summer 2012, Fall 2012 and Spring of 2013 from the National Association of Book Entrepreneurs. Many of Walt’s adventures in the Lady Justice series are anecdotal and based on Robert’s real life. Robert holds a master’s in psychology, but his wit and insight come from his varied occupations, including thirty-three years as a real estate broker. He lives with his wife, Peg, in Independence, Missouri.

  18. April’s Promise by Karen Rose Smith - Award-winning author Karen Rose Smith was born in Pennsylvania. Although she was an only child, she remembers the bonds of an extended family. She and her parents lived with her grandfather and aunt until she was five when her parents built a house next door. Since her father came from a family of ten and her mother, a family of seven, there were always aunts, uncles and cousins visiting on weekends. Family is a strong theme in her books and she suspects her childhood memories are the reason. As a teenager, music became as important to Karen as reading. The Beatles were her favorite group. But she and her cousin took their first sojourn into writing by collaborating on a script for the MONKEES television program. They sent that script to every concert venue where the group appeared that summer! In college, Karen began writing poetry and also met her husband to be. They both began married life as teachers, but when their son was born, Karen decided to try her hand at a home-decorating business. A two-time winner of New Jersey's Golden Leaf Award in Short Contemporary Romance, Colorado Romance Writers Award Of Excellence for short contemporary, as well as the Phoenix Desert Rose Chapter's Golden Quill for Traditional Romance, she has also been honored with Cataromance.com's award for Best Special Edition. Presently, she is hard at work on a three-book series for Harlequin Special Edition as well as a three-book mystery series for Kensington. Married to her college sweetheart since 1971, believing in the power of love and commitment, she envisions herself writing relationship novels, both romance and mystery, for a long time to come!
