Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers

  1. What he did to her - Here’s the bottom line… I love to laugh, I love to drink, I love to eat. I love writing. As a child I had stories going through my head. It took me a long time to realise I should write them down, therefore clearing my mind. Little did I know another one would pop up! I wanted to be painter since I was a child. I was told, while being assessed at the end of my art foundation, I should go into drama or be a stand-up comedian. I’m short, so even if I did ‘stand up’ it’d be hard to see me and I realise that was their way of telling me I was rubbish at art. I’ve worked in various jobs and I have been extremely lucky to do what I wanted to do… though I have a habit of changing my mind every so often. If you want something, go for it. The only thing holding you back is you. You only have one life so don’t say ‘if only’ say ‘well at least I tried’. Writing, like anything creative, is an exposure. Not everyone likes what you write, what you say or what you think… but some people do. That’s my focus. On the people who like what you write… what I write. And what keeps me going… microdermabrasion and margaritas … seriously…
  2. The Broken World Book Two – StarSword by TC Southwell - T. C. Southwell was born in Sri Lanka and moved to the Seychelles when she was a baby. She spent her formative years exploring the islands – mostly alone. Naturally, her imagination flourished and she developed a keen love of other worlds. The family travelled through Europe and Africa and, after the death of her father, settled in South Africa. T. C. Southwell has written over thirty novels, ranging from fantasy and science fiction to romance and adventure, as well as five screenplays. Her hobbies include motorcycling, horse riding and art, and she is now a full-time writer.
  3. The River Way Home: The Adventures of the Cowboy, the Indian, and the Amazon Queen - A former photographer, editor for NASA, elected official, and attorney, Mary Dawson searched New Orleans, Houston, Seattle, and Miami before she found her place—the small remnant of Florida’s Last Frontier she shares with friends, family, and a black-and-tan hound that wandered out of the Allapattah Flats one sunny afternoon.
  4. Mossad X - Ori Rotem is a native-born Israeli with a distinguished 45-year career in Israel's defense sector. This is his first novel.
  5. Ode to Minoa - Theresa C. Dintino is the author of Stories They Told Me, a novel of Shamanism and Goddess Spirituality set in Minoan Crete; Ode to Minoa, the odyssey of a snake Priestess in Bronze Age Crete; and the recently completed The Strega and the Dreamer, the story of a family immigrating from a small village in the Abruzzi region of Italy to America at the turn of the last century. She earned a BA in English Literature from the University of New Hampshire. She is inspired by the stories uncovered by archaeology and often uses archaeological places of interest as the setting for her stories and novels. Theresa has also been an independent scholar of science and cosmology for 15 years. She currently lives in Sebastopol CA with her sweet family, her hyper dogs and her magical oak tree friends.
  6. Truth or Date - SUSAN HATLER is an international bestselling author who writes humorous and emotional contemporary romance and young adult novels. A natural optimist, she believes life is amazing, people are fascinating, and imagination is endless. She loves spending time with her characters and hopes you do, too. You can visit her website at www.susanhatler.com
  7. Agony by John Anson - You'll never meet anyone quite like John Anson. He has a way of shoving himself into the reluctant role of the protagonist, narrating with astute observation and unblemished honesty. His works are adapted from real events in his life, given a richness of detail and wry perspective that rarely disappoints. Intricately simple, Anson puts an unmistakable sardonic wit into his dark humor that will stay with you long after his closing sentences.
  8. Mobsters, Gangs, Crooks, and Other Creeps – Volume 3 – New York City - Joe Bruno's true book crime books: "Mobsters, Gangs, Crooks, and Other Creeps - Volumes 1- 5" are consistently ranked in the top 100 on Amazon in the genre "Organized Crime," as is "Joe Bruno's Mobsters - Six Volume Set," and "Murder and Mayhem in the Big Apple - From the Black Hand to Murder Incorporated." Other true crime books by Joe Bruno include "The Wrong Man: Who Ordered the Murder of Gambler Herman Rosenthal & Why, " and "Mob Wives - Fuhgeddaboudit!" Joe Bruno is also author of the satiric novel "Find Big Fat Fanny Fast," and the screenplay "Snakeheads."
  9. Alison’s Awakening - Anna Daye lives in the desert with her husband and pets. When she's not wrangling cats or her husband, she is writing romantic fiction with a spicy edge. She is a staunch believer in happy endings and unicorns. One of these things is definitely true.
  10. Endeavoured Heart - I don't like to talk about myself, in fact I like to hide and just watch the world go by. I'm definitely voyeuristic and embrace it too happily, for my own liking. If I'm not reading or watching movies, I want to be writing, sitting at my kitchen table with only a candle for illumination, typing into my laptop.
  11. Touching Godliness - Dr. K.P. Yohannan is a prolific writer and dynamic conference speaker. In addition, his Road to Reality radio program airs weekly on more than 900 outlets in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Yohannan’s radical, all-out commitment to the Lord Jesus has challenged the Body of Christ around the world for more than 30 years. Dr. Yohannan and his wife, Gisela, have been married for 39 years. Their ministry, Gospel for Asia, brings the light of hope to millions in South Asia. They have two grown children who are serving the Lord on the mission field with their families.
  12. Murder Watch, Part One: Gun Laws - Antonio Aranio is the author of Murder Watch, Part One: Gun Laws and Murder Watch, Part Two: Killing Time. He is currently working on the Tattoo series of crime and horror novels which will become available later in 2013 and 2014. He has an Honours degree in English Literature, among other educational achievements. You can keep up, stay in touch or generally annoy him via Facebook, Twitter or any other way you can devise :-) Happy Reading!
  13. Greek Mythology’s Adventures of Perseus - Blake A. Hoena grew up in central Wisconsin, where, in his youth, he wrote stories about robots conquering the Moon and trolls lumbering around in the woods behind his parents house, and the fact that the trolls were hunting for little boys had nothing to do with Blake's pesky brothers. Later, he moved to Minnesota to pursue a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Since graduating, Blake has written more than fifty books for children, including retellings of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and the Perseus and Medusa myth. Most recently, he's working on choose-your-path books: Treasure Island and Campfire Crisis.
  14. My Life My Africa: a Real African adventure…in search of Love, Freedom and True Community - Born in 1976, in Durban South Africa, to two government-school teachers at all-Indian schools, in a country governed under the law of apartheid, Philén began a life that held little promise. A boy who was taught to believe in his dreams and to take the necessary risks in pursuing them, Philén has lived - and continues to live - a life devoted to freedom and truth, mostly against the currents of convention. He has spent 2006 to 2013 in Johannesburg setting up the My Life My Africa Children's Foundation, and partnering with Golang Education Outreach, Emthonjeni Community Centre and the Johannesburg Bible College in the Zandspruit Informal Settlement. Currently in Johannesburg, promoting his book, Philén is busy thinking about Book 2, his next adventure, and how to play his part in equipping and empowering the neglected youth to publish their stories for the world to read, thereby releasing their voice and reclaiming their identities.
  15. Ascendant: The Complete Edition - After majoring in English in college, Richard Denoncourt entered an MFA program in hopes of becoming the next great American literary novelist. He crafted a series of moody, narcissistic and melodramatic short stories before realizing that the most entertaining part of life is entertaining others. So he turned to the science fiction, fantasy, and horror novels that he has enjoyed all his life and wrote those instead.
  16. Discovering Ren by Jennifer Eifrig - I'm an author, consultant, and full-time mom, living in Middletown, CT. I love speculative fiction of all kinds, from the great sword-and-sandals epics to the grinding gears of steampunk. If it has magic, weapons, costumes, and seat-of-your-pants action, I'm in. In addition to Discovering Ren and the sequels, I write a free romantic comedy/urban fantasy novel on Twitter. Be sure to visit my web site, www.JenniferEifrigAuthor.com for more about me, my characters, and the world of my novels.
