Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers
- Demon Lord by TC Southwell - T. C. Southwell was born in Sri Lanka and moved to the Seychelles when she was a baby. She spent her formative years exploring the islands – mostly alone. Naturally, her imagination flourished and she developed a keen love of other worlds. The family travelled through Europe and Africa and, after the death of her father, settled in South Africa.
T. C. Southwell has written over thirty novels, ranging from fantasy and science fiction to romance and adventure, as well as five screenplays. Her hobbies include motorcycling, horse riding and art, and she is now a full-time writer.
- Eternity by Teresa Federici - Teresa Federici grew up in South Florida, the baby of four kids. She started writing at a young age, and finally got the nerve to inquire about publishing her first novel when she was 35. Eternity was published a year later in 2010.
She lives in South Florida with her husband, and eagerly waits for summers when her step-son visits. You can read more news and updates at her blog, http://teresaafederici.wordpress.com/ or visit her website at http://teresafederici.com
- Flower of Heaven - Julien Ayotte spent his entire career in the corporate and legal world. He holds a BS, MBA, and PhD, all in business and Flower of Heaven is his debut novel after publishing a financial planning book, Wealth Building for Professionals, in 2001. He resides in Cumberland, RI with his wife, Pauline. They have three grown children.
Flower of Heaven is the Honorable Mention winner for General Fiction in the 2013 New York Book Festival and the Indie Book of the Day for March 19, 2013. Bill Reynolds, Providence Journal, cited the book as a potential great movie.
- Corrupt Connection - I grew up in a small central Illinois town in the 50s and 60s. It was, and still is, the kind of town where kids ride bikes, fish, and play ball as their dogs follow them about. My parents are in their mid-80s and still live there. I was the first in my extended family to go away to college, and I graduated in 1976 with a wife and degrees in education and mathematics. A fruitful 31-year sales management career with a Fortune 500 company and a storybook life with my wife and two children followed college.
Life changed for me and my family when I lost my wife in the spring of 2008. She’d been my best friend for 35 years. Life stood still for a long time, but gradually, everyone finds a way to move forward. I have since met a wonderful woman, Claudia, and we married in the spring of 2012. We share time between a home in Charlotte and a getaway place in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Reading, writing, gardening, hiking, traveling (mostly to visit family and friends) and watching sunsets with a glass of wine occupy our days. Claudia is also an experienced editor and helps me greatly with tightening up my writing. It’s a teamwork that has worked well the past several years.
I’ve published two novels. The first, CORRUPT CONNECTION, is the story of a modest businessman and beautiful PhD who become the targets of a drug cartel attempting to raid futuristic technologies developed by their company. The second, BETTER LATE THAN EVER, is about Phil Greenfield, a 60-year-old, recently retired bachelor, and the dangerously misdirected focus on youth Phil discovers behind the private stone walls of a modern retirement community.
- Gray Hair, Black Belt by Carl “Cal” Tuohey - Mr. Carl "Cal" Tuohey has lived his entire life in the Erie Canal town of Medina, New York. He and his wife, Jeanne, have been married for 34 years and have two children, Elizabeth and Jackson.
In addition to his career as a systems analyst, Mr. Tuohey has taken on many endeavors. These include acting, stand up comedy, hosting two local cable television shows, organizing and running a men´s basketball league, running the local softball league, coaching his son's basketball teams, serving on the local school board, president of his village's Business Association, president of the county Chamber of Commerce, and starting his own computer business.
Mr. Tuohey enjoys his days sailing on Lake Ontario with his son and friends, or playing a round of golf now and then.
- We the Separate Together - Jaye is a writer of experimental novels of literary and historical merit.
Born in Kobe Japan, Jaye was destined for a life of wandering both physically and mentally. She can only remain home two to three months at a time before wanderlust takes over. It has yet to be discovered how fully this need has influenced her writing.
- The Best Fertility Herbs & Superfoods For Faster Conception - I have a passion for helping other women improve their fertility. I struggled with infertility, having married "late in life" at age 34 and waiting a few years before trying to conceive.
When my husband and I did start trying, it didn't happen. Then I begin to study and read everything I could to find out why.
Through the course of the next 2 years I had two miscarriages and learned everything I could about how to get pregnant more quickly and prevent miscarriages.
Finally, at age 39, the month right after my second miscarriage, I conceived my firstborn son (who is now 7).
- Secret Sexual Desires Of 100 Million People: Seduction Recipes for Men and Women: Demos from Shan Hai Jing research discoveries by A. Davydov & O. Skorbatyuk by Kate Bazilevsky - Kate Bazilevsky was born in Moscow, Russia and grew up in Boston, MA USA. She holds a degree in MIS and Psychology. In 2008, she began her studies in the field of Non-traditional Psychoanalysis, based on research by Andrey Davydov and Olga Skorbatyuk. In 2011, Kate founded the Human Population Academy, and opened a publishing company called HPA Press in 2012. HPA Press publishes works that further Human Population Academy's mission: to educate people around the world about the laws of human Nature, the Catalog of Human Population (Catalog of Human Souls) and scientific research of its source Shan Hai Jing based on discoveries by A. Davydov and O. Skorbatyuk.
- Cruiser - Dee J. Stone is the pseudonym of two sisters who write young adult fiction. Their hobbies include writing, reading, and playing video games.
- Core Confidence: Stepping Into Your Greatest Potential-Stepping Into Your Greatest Life - Cathy Patterson-Sterling is an International Christian Author, Speaker and Registered Clinical Counsellor who has a speciality in helping individuals, couples, and families struggling with confidence/self-esteem issues, addictions, broken trust, pornography, and betrayal. - Siren Song - Kaitlin Bevis spent her childhood curled up with a book, and a pen. If the ending didn't agree with her, she rewrote it. She's always wanted to be a writer, and spent high school and college learning everything she could so that one day she could achieve that goal. She graduated college with my BFA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing, and is pursuing her masters at the University of Georgia.
Her young adult series "Daughters of Zeus" is available wherever ebooks are sold. She also writes for truuconfessions.com and Athens Parent Magazine.

- Angels - My name is Bev Spicer and I was born in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. My father was an observer for the RAF and my mother was the beautiful youngest daughter of a successful market gardener.
I somehow managed to get to Cambridge University as a post-grad, despite spilling a schooner of sherry over my blouse at interview (in my defence, I have never thought of sherry as something you should drink).
I am widely read, having studied English and French Literature at Keele University, where I developed my love of astronomy thanks to a curriculum that demanded I take a science option in my first year. I admire such people as Sir Patrick Moore, Prof. Brian Cox and my wonderful astronomy night-school teacher Stuart Clark.
At present, I live in France, where the weather is normally better than in Cambridge, England, where I quit my job as an EFL lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University. I miss my friends, and my students, but the pull of sunshine, great food and being able to write everyday is irresistible.
I have lived on Crete, where I learned to speak the language and became a fitness instructor, (until my thighs became too big for my jeans). In the Seychelles I lived on Mahe, and worked for the government, teaching on the small island of St. Anne, going to work on a WWII landing craft and watching out for giant centipedes dropping from the classroom rafters. I later co-designed materials for the syllabuses for years I and II, which were used for many years.
My Books:
'One Summer in France' (humorous prequel to 'Bunny on a Bike') by Bev Spicer
'Bunny on a Bike' (humorous memoir of a Playboy croupier) by Bev Spicer
'My Grandfather's Eyes' (psychological dram/mystery, set in England and Italy) by B. A. Spicer
'A Good Day for Jumping' (mystery/suspense, set in Greece, England and Afghanistan) by B. A. Spicer
- ABC Book of Rhymes - My name is Mark Eichler and I am the father of six wonderfully unique and different children. I love spending time with my kids, teaching them to ride a bike or catch a ball, going on family trips or just talking. However, my favorite time of the day is story time (and not because it comes right before bedtime, although that doesn't hurt). Snuggling up with my kids on the couch or in their beds and reading to them is a favorite activity we all enjoy. During the last few years, mainly due to one of our children’s dislike of the over 100 children's books we have in the house, I have been writing my own stories - some based on experiences in our lives others completely fictional - and reading them to my kids at night. After some urging and convincing from family members, I decided to share those stories (as well as create some new ones) so that more kids can enjoy story time with their moms and dads.

- Diary of a Heretic - Kathleen Maher wrote Diary of a Heretic while she raised two children in suburban Tarrytown, New York. An excerpt from the novel reached finalist status in the inaugural Richard Hall Memorial Short Story Contest sponsored by the Lambda Literary Foundation in 2000.
Kathleen Maher is the author of Underground Nest, a novella, and her short fiction has appeared in literary journals including Ascent, Black Warrior Review, Confrontation, Cottonwood, Descant (TCU), Gargoyle, Passages North, and The View From Here. Her work has been short-listed in numerous contests, including The William Faulkner Society Novel Competition, Iowa School of Letters Award, and Drue Heinz Literature Prize.
Mostly she writes, but she also enjoys hiking, dancing to reggae music, and being in the mountains.
- Face First by Tug Johnson - Tug Johnson writes tasteful smut.
You want to know more?
Tug Johnson has been trying to find his way into women’s hearts, pants and bedrooms for enough years to know better – but there is no fool like an old fool.
Tug is working away on trying to get off one more while you’re reading this.
By the time he gets done that he’ll most likely write another story – once he gets done talking about himself in the third goddamn person.
Remember – wash careful under that turtleneck and change your shorts every day. Just because a fellow’s got bad taste doesn’t mean he ought to taste bad.
- Another Night in Paris by Ellis Rose - Originally from Swansea in South Wales, Ellis Rose, studied modern languages at Cardiff University before moving to Paris to follow a career in Public Relations. After 30 years of working in a variety of marketing and PR related roles in Europe and the UK, in 2009 she moved back to her home town where she set up her own independent marketing consultancy, to allow herself time to write her first novel. Ellis now lives with her partner and two daughters on the beautiful Gower Coast.
- Ring of Fire - Some of my earliest and fondest memories involve travel--more specifically, escaping into books, whether devouring the latest Beverly Cleary or biking to the library to spend a few hours with Stephen King. A childhood subscription to the Weekly Reader's Book Club yielded stacks and stacks of timeless, memorable titles that he has since shared with my own children.
Inspired by author/artists such as Jack Kent, Wende and Harry Devlin and Margaret and H.A. Rey, my own storywriting efforts took the form of cartoons and comic strips throughout most of my youth--there was writing involved, but usually in the form of dialogue balloons. As a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I was dismayed to find no courses in comic art. There were, however, a series of courses in creative writing--taught by some of the South's most esteemed names, from Bland Simpson to Daphne Athas. For a few semesters, I thought my future was secure.
But with graduation inevitable, I knew neither short stories nor my regularly published comic strip were likely to provide a comfortable living. Enter advertising, journalism's delinquent stepchild. Here I found a way to spin words and pictures (and frequently humor) into persuasive messages tailor-made for short attention spans. The big city beckoned, and I accepted, spending a decade in Chicago typing out (yes, on a typewriter) copy for McDonald's, Heinz, Nintendo, Samsonite and Kellogg's.
After North Carolina lured me back, I continued my advertising writing for smaller clients, started a family and began teaching copywriting for his alma mater. While "back on campus," I developed an idea that didn't fit into a comic strip, a TV commercial or even the confines of a short story. Since it wouldn't go away, I turned it into a novel. Another one followed. And pretty soon, the ideas were piling up faster than they could be turned into books.
I hope this pattern will continue.
- Showdown at Barncastle Inn - JANELLE MOWERY lives in Texas with her husband and two sons, though a portion of her heart still resides in her birth state of Minnesota. Janelle began writing inspirational stories in 2001 and has since written several historical novels as well as a mystery series. Her first published novel, 'Where the Truth Lies', released in 2008. This was followed in 2010 by 'The Christmas Chain', part of a Christmas anthology titled, 'A Woodland Christmas'. Her second novel, 'Love Finds You in Silver City, Idaho', released October 2010 and received four stars from the Romantic Times review. Janelle's Colorado trilogy will release in 2011. The first of this series, 'When All My Dreams Come True', also received four stars from the Romantic Times review. 'Where the Heart Is', part of another Christmas anthology titled, 'Christmas at Barncastle Inn', will release in September 2011. When she isn't writing, her interests include reading, enjoying nature, and visiting historical sites. To learn more, visit her Web site at www.janellemowery.com.
- A Guide to the Kinstant Formatter - All things beautiful are my passion. I enjoy anything that a masterful hand creates. Writing is one of those, cooking is another and the third is development of the human spirit. The first two captured my interest and imagination at a very young age, the third came much later.
My first series, "Mama's Legacy Cookbooks," was a pleasure to create because it allowed me to tap into the two early interests and to publish cookbooks that my audience can use and enjoy time and time again.
I began my love affair with cooking when I was very young. As soon as I could reach the counter top my mother gave me free range in the kitchen. I was allowed to mix and mix and mix, building my masterpieces. They were nothing more that wild combinations of flour, sugar, spices and water, but to me it was creating at its best. When I finished with each endeavor, we tossed it all and happily cleaned up the kitchen, looking forward to the next time. My creative spirit in the kitchen had taken root.
My first adventure in writing came my senior year in high school when I decided to take a writing correspondence course, which was very forward-looking for the time. I experienced the first thrill of putting pen to paper, and all these years later it is still one of the most pleasurable activities in my life.
The power of the human spirit and an understanding of the personal power we all possess came in my mid- to late forties when I found myself a divorced, single-mother of four children - two teenager daughters and two young boys. Suddenly, I was on my own and had to find a way to make it all work. The following years of deep personal introspection and self discovery were amazing and life changing; and now, I want to share my thoughts and experience with others through my writing.
If I had my druthers, I would write all the time. In fact, that is pretty much what I do because I have reached a point in my life where it is now possible.
In addition to the "Mama Legacy Cookbook Series" and "Cake Making Made Easy," I have another book, "Candy Making Made Easy" that provides detailed instructions about the candy-making process and 16 starter recipes to help apply what the reader has learned. I loved writing this book because it brought back so many wonderful memories of candy-making with my mom on those long summer nights when I was a young girl.
My more recent works have moved in a slightly different direction. "Attitude Adjustment - Make Your Whole Outlook Brand New," discusses the impact that attitude can have on the life you live. Is it one of constant doom and gloom, or one of happiness and joy. If it is the later, terrific - keep doing what you are doing! If it is the gloom and doom, negative attitude that pushes people away, the book gives you some options of things you can do to change. It is a short book, but full of great information.
"DETOX - The Master Cleanse Diet" provides a detailed, step-by-step set of instructions on how to properly cleanse your body - to help you eliminate all the toxic waste build up that is making you feel sluggish and less than excited about facing each day. It is a great first step toward better health and and a greater sense of well being.
This book, "A Guide to the Kinstant Formatter" is one of my two newest books. The second one the will be available shortly is: "Why Juice? Juicing for Your Life - The Secret to Vibrant Health" which I wrote after researching juicing for my own health reasons. I liked what I found so much that I began a juicing regimen that has made a huge difference in the way I feel.
I have several other Kindle books written under pen names with two books in process.
All my work is non-fiction. Even though I love fiction, that has never been my focus and there are others who do it so much better than I. My choice has always been and will continue to be to write about topics that interest and intrigue me and to share what I discover with my readers.

"I knew I wanted to write from the time I was a little girl. I was writing in journals long before John-boy Walton ever picked up a pencil...and I was just as earnest (and overly dramatic) about my stories and poems. And not surprisingly, I was just as passionate about reading. When I was young, my mother took us kids--there were three of us at the time--to the library almost every week. Years later, she told me that I was always much more enthusiastic about the trips than my older brothers, who would rather spend time beating each other up--but I loved it. A true geeky bookworm. If I could have built a home at that age, it would have looked exactly like a library...minus the brothers."
