Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers
- Altors by Nas Peters - She was born on February 14th in the Netherlands, 1989, but was actually taught to speak French first. Her mother is French and her father Dutch, they met when her father, then part of the marines, docked in a little harbor somewhere along the coast line of Brittany. They spoke English to one another for a long while before they could speak each others languages.
It's when Nas had to start school that they figured it might be handy she speak Dutch. This is where she forgot a lot of her French up until she was fourteen years old and her family moved to France. There she started to read a lot and not long after, writing her own stories that first accompanied her illustrations, until the day Zinc came to be and the illustrations accompany it.
- Vámonos! by Bill Stephens - Bill Stephens wrote over 1,000 weekly columns for Harte-Hanks, Murdoch, and Hearst newspapers. His features on wine, food, travel, and outdoor appeared in Wine News, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Food & Wine, Chef, and Field & Stream.
For over 18 years he was the cliché newspaper columnist who had "The Novel" third drawer down in his desk. He finally pulled it out one day, and his debut novel, Horizons Past is the result. This mainstream love story was followed by Vámonos!A Humorous Action Adventrue Novel. The difference in styles made him assume the pseudonym, Lisa Ray, for Horizons Past.
You can follow Bill on his Blog, "Read It and Weep." www.publishersmarketplace.com/members/billstephens
Stephens is a graduate of The University of Texas and studied creative writing at Trinity University, San Antonio. He lives in Texas with his wife and her critters. Visit his Facebook Author Page www.facebook.com/authorbillstephens
He soon will release his third novel, Woke Up This Morning, and a collection of short stories.
- Good Vibration - Here’s the bottom line… I love to laugh, I love to drink, I love to eat.
I love writing.
As a child I had stories going through my head. It took me a long time to realise I should write them down, therefore clearing my mind. Little did I know another one would pop up!
I wanted to be painter since I was a child. I was told, while being assessed at the end of my art foundation, I should go into drama or be a stand-up comedian. I’m short, so even if I did ‘stand up’ it’d be hard to see me and I realise that was their way of telling me I was rubbish at art.
I’ve worked in various jobs and I have been extremely lucky to do what I wanted to do… though I have a habit of changing my mind every so often.
If you want something, go for it. The only thing holding you back is you. You only have one life so don’t say ‘if only’ say ‘well at least I tried’.
Writing, like anything creative, is an exposure. Not everyone likes what you write, what you say or what you think… but some people do. That’s my focus. On the people who like what you write… what I write.
And what keeps me going… microdermabrasion and margaritas … seriously…
- Hard in the Paint - I only took one creative writing class in college and it was in my last year. I fell in love with writing and decided to pursue my first novel when I graduated. I didn't publish that first novel, but here I am publishing my second one. I hope you like it!

- Highfall - I have been writing since my teenage years. Back then I did not realize that it was more than a passing phase, interest or hobby. That is why I listened to the left part of my brain and studied business instead:)
When I finally became wiser I left my 11-year corporate career behind and decided to follow my passion.
Now I am self-published author and blogger from Armenia. My first book of short stories called Emotional Moments became an Amazon bestseller in 2012.
My first novel Highfall is already available as an e book or paperback.
You can get in touch with me through her blog Life Probabilities (www.lifeprobabilities.com) or Twitter (@Ani_LifeProb)

Kally is the oldest of seven children and has always enjoyed reading, writing and poetry. She has recently become a grandmother which has inspired her to publish her books for little ones. - S3: Science, Statistics and Skepticism - I am a writer, co-founder, entrepreneur, photographer, explorer, and an idiot. Because of these qualities, I like to think I'm important. I've worked in Baghdad while a war was raging, in Bahrain while riots were ensuing, and in Saudi Arabia where women don't exist. I lived in Italy where a simple task takes days, and in Australia, where men wearing pink shirts is the new norm.
While exploring twenty-five countries on five continents, speaking bad Italian, horrible Spanish, and decent Arabic, I've befriended Americans, Arabs, Australians, Brazilians, Chileans, Italians, and New Zealanders, all while faithfully remaining the odd one out.
Through four years of craziness, staring death in the face on four occasions, meeting hundreds of beautiful people, and exploring a myriad of new cultures, I now feel arrogant and important enough to commit my overvalued thoughts to fake paper and tell people exactly what to think. The culmination of all this randomness, is Random Rationality: A Rational Guide to an Irrational World.

Born and bred in New York City, he is often recognized from his commercials, plays and TV shows.

His debut novel, Life is Local, has already gained cult status as an eBook and is available now in all formats.
His deliciously original novella STRAIGHT has garnered comparable attention.
Des is currently working on his second novel the similarly Lanarkshire inspired, My Injured Angel.

He started writing while in school, but it wasn't until a number of years later that he decided to write full time. He published his first book in January 2012 and went on to publish several more that year, including a sequel to his bestselling mystery series.
Paul is currently hard at work writing a third mystery book, which will be released in the summer of 2013. He loves to hear from his fans and can be contacted via his website - www.paulmoxham.com

- Burnt Offerings by Ripley King - Ripley King is an avid gardener, processes her own food, loves 3D illustration (she does her own cover art), and keeps a small herd of cats. She’s married (27 years now) with two boys, one daughter in-law, and one grandchild. She has published in amateur, semi-pro, and pro magazines (and online zines). She loves to write all sorts of fiction, from dark fantasy to horror, and enjoys crossing genres. Burnt Offerings offers all that and more. This novel, and it is a novel, ties together 20 short stories (15 stories previously published, along with 5 stories original to this volume) into a solid narrative guaranteed to please. From Native American legend to urban detective, science fiction, magic and romance; alongside vampires, barbarians, presidents, elves, and (walking talking) toys, there’s a little something for everyone to enjoy. This mixed-genre mosaic novel has sex, harsh language, gore, and humor. If Burnt Offerings was a movie, it would carry an “R” rating. Have fun!
- Holidays Frightened My Father And Other Stories - I'm an author living in East Hampton, Long Island, who spends at least as much time writing (and reading!) as I do on our glorious beaches or in our art galleries, shops, and restaurants. (Lots more than in our shops! But I like to take my wife, Robin.)
My lifelong love has been stories with gripping plots driven by logic, heroes and heroines driven by impassioned values and desires, and places and action and dialogue that carry me away to "the homeland of my soul." Nothing brings these together like a battle for justice, a struggle for love and the fulfillment of sexual passion, the obsessive need to understand a mystery, a problem, a threat. My first novel, "The Price of Hannah Blake," will be followed soon by more novels, a second book of poetry, and a collection of essays and stories.
I grew up on a farm in Massachusetts, but I've spent my career in New York City as a writer, publishing more than 100 articles, essays, and stories and helping foundations, museums, hospitals, schools, conservation organizations, and all sorts of other good causes with my writing talents. With this experience, and my long love affair with poetry (you can find my book, "Touched By Its Rays" on Amazon), I think you will find I am a stylist whose writing will be a pleasure to read--and will take you into places, characters, and the heart of action in a way that will make the pages fly by.
- Born To Be Wild - "Kathy Clark has had 23 romance / women’s fiction novels published by several publishers, including Harlequin and Dell which have sold more than 3 million copies globally in at least 11 different languages. Her books have appeared on the New York Times and USA Today Best Seller lists and she has received numerous industry awards including Romantic Times Readers’ Choice Awards. In 2013 two of her books won first place in The Best Indie Books of the year for Young adult and suspense.
After spending several years writing screenplays she has returned to writing novels and has branched out into suspense, mainstream and young adult genres. She has enjoyed co-writing these latest books with her husband Bob Wernly under the pen name of Bob Kat.
Kathy’s latest and 24th book published was After Midnight, a suspense set in Denver and is the first of a trilogy called Denver After Dark. It has been well received and reviewers, across the board, have rated it 4 and 5 stars. The trailer for that book can be found from my website at www.nightwriter93.com or directly on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxSkqqaD-2Q
Bob Kat became active in 2012 with two projects published.
First was the mainstream novel, Life’s What Happens, a fictionalized treatment of the 1969 to early 1970 anti-war movement as it played out at Kent State University. Bob Wernly was there, and the characters and thoughtful telling of the story was a fascinating insight into the era. The reviews have been amazing. The direct link to the YouTube trailer can be found at the following http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQBnqNNNHUE&feature=plcp
But after several years of contemplating where to take their newly launched co-writing career, they concluded there was a mutual and burning passion to spend their time writing for young adults. The passion stems from the many real-life stories of teen suicide, bullying, runaways, abuse and drugs. Add to that, the caustic nature of the television and film content that most certainly weighs on this age group’s ability to maintain a positive healthy outlook as they mature into their twenties. The CUL8R time travel action adventure series was inaugurated in December, 2012. There are many unique features of this series, and the positive message it will send to its readers will be awesome! That’s right, awesome! Really. Actually, it will be epic! The series website is www.cuul8rseries.com Book #1, OMG was published in eBook and paperback in time for Christmas. And no zombies or vampires were killed in the making of the series!

- Hunt the Kllers Down - Van Holt wrote his first western when he was in high school and sent it to a literary agent, who soon returned it, saying it was too long but he would try to sell it if Holt would cut out 16,000 words. Young Holt couldn't bear to cut out any of his perfect western, so he threw it away and started writing another one.
A draft notice interrupted his plans to become the next Zane Grey or Louis L'Amour. A tour of duty as an MP stationed in South Korea was pretty much the usual MP stuff except for the time he nabbed a North Korean spy and had to talk the dimwitted desk sergeant out of letting the guy go. A briefcase stuffed with drawings of U.S. aircraft and the like only caused the overstuffed lifer behind the counter to rub his fat face, blink his bewildered eyes, and start eating a big candy bar to console himself. Imagine Van Holt's surprise a few days later when he heard that same dumb sergeant telling a group of new admirers how he himself had caught the famous spy one day when he was on his way to the mess hall.
Holt says there hasn't been too much excitement since he got out of the army, unless you count the time he was attacked by two mean young punks and shot one of them in the big toe. Holt believes what we need is punk control, not gun control.
After traveling all over the West and Southwest in an aging Pontiac, Van Holt got tired of traveling the day he rolled into Tucson and he has been there ever since, still dreaming of becoming the next Zane Grey or Louis L'Amour when he grows up. Or maybe the next great mystery writer. He likes to write mysteries when he's not too busy writing westerns or trying to find out when they are going to start making Twinkies again.
- Take Off Your Mask: 12 THINGS YOU WISH YOU KNEW - Curiosity may have killed that feline fur ball, but she or him learned a lot before exiting number nine. I too have been curious, wondering why we, I or they acted this way, looked or did it that way or were otherwise human.
But curiosity is such a casual word, and the truth is my desire to know was almost desperate. There were times in life that I felt angry when there was no one around, unhappy when life was just fine, times I had trouble with relationships for seemingly no reason, times I felt sad when…well, you get the idea.
That desperate curiosity, along with forty years of inner work, has lead to some interesting answers and some surprising books.
Also, I love talking with those courageous people who are going for a positive change, and I live to see that eye-widening moment of understanding.
Besides curious, I am also a writer who began with a column in the San Jose Mercury News, nationally syndicated. My current project is this 6-book series, “Things That Make Life Better.”
So from the central coast of the North American west, I submit these curious jottings of curiosity to be browsed by those who will hopefully find them as entertaining as they do just plain helpful.
- Warden (Book 1: Wendigo Fever) - This is a new teen and young adult horror/scf-fi/fantasy series from this author.
