Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers

  1. Actress - Keith Dixon has worked in education and business but has always managed to include some element of creative writing in what he does. Ten years ago he had a revelation and realised that what he actually wanted to spend time doing was writing fiction. He had written seven novels in two years at the age of twenty, all of which were later lost in a cellar flood (the joys of paper back-up), and had won a playwriting competition with a play on the life of Isaac Newton. But he realised that having spent many years reading and teaching 'proper' literature, he spent most of his time absorbed in American crime fiction. And it seemed to him as good as most of the contemporary, non-crime literature that he had been reading. So he decided to transplant the 'feel' of the American noir novel into a British environment to see what it looked like. It looked good. So in those ten years he's written three novels featuring private eye Sam Dyke and has recently published his fourth - non-crime - book, Actress.
  2. RABIES - Jaws Porcine, a medical doctor, got his idea of a short story about a virus as he backpacked Southeast Asia in 2011. He currently lives in Singapore, the final frontier of his post-apocalyptic fiction blog, Rabies.
  3. Gemma At Rainbow Farm – The Beginning - I live in the UK and I have a wonderful son named Mark and two amazing grandchildren; Adam and Mai. I love making up children's stories and as my son was growing up, his favorites were always the stories about Gemma and her adventures at Rainbow Farm. It's no wonder that my grandchildren fell in love Gemma too, since their father loved her stories so much. They are always excited to hear about her adventures on the magical farm and can't wait to find out what she'll be up to next. I finally decided to bring Gemma to life in her own set of books so other children could enjoy the stories about her magical adventures. I truly enjoy writing these stories and I hope your children and grandchildren enjoy them as much as my family does!

  9. Title: Beating Life’s Four Biggest Addictions: How to Have More Time for the Important Things - Timothy Bauer is an advocate for famous self help and motivational guru. He loves to share his ideas and summarize what the best have to say.
  10. The Billionaire Bargain - Barb Han is the author of romance novels and romantic suspense. She belongs to Romance Writers of America, DARA, KOD, and NTRWA where she volunteers as often as she can. She graduated from The University of North Texas with a bachelor degree in journalism. She lives in North Texas with her own Asian-hero husband, has three beautiful children, a spunky Golden Retriever/Standard Poodle mix, and too many books in her ‘to read’ pile. In her down time, she plays video games and spends much of her time on or around a basketball court. She loves interacting with readers.
  11. Shooting Stars and Other Deadly Things (Carrie Carlin Mysteries – Book Three) - I was one of those kids who read under the covers with a flashlight when I was supposed to be sleeping. I often hid in a closet with the latest Nancy Drew when I was supposed to be dusting the furniture. In the fourth grade I gave a book report on a non-existent (except in my own mind) mystery series, called the Jean Beacon series, and got away with it. I used to bring home stray cats and once, after reading “Lassie,” I stole a neighbor’s Collie. I hated housework (still do) and was somewhat of a trial to my mother, but I must on occasion, have done something good because I had a friend who once told me it would be pretty lonely up in heaven with just me and George Washington. (I realize she didn’t mean it as a compliment and I forget what I did that prompted her to say it, but it must have been deserving of praise.) I was a very good English student and a not-so-good Math student. I had a Trigonometry teacher who told me I would never, as had my sister and brother, go to Cornell. I didn’t. I did go to Carnegie Mellon. As a “dramat” (drama major,) I developed a love of acting and learned to appreciate theater of all kinds. After graduation, I married and embarked on an acting career that included off-Broadway, summer stock, TV, films, and a road company tour of the NATO bases in Europe -- none of which made me famous, but all of which turned out to be grist for the writing career that was to come. Finding myself suddenly single again, I began a career as a biofeedback practitioner. Itching to do someone in, I found the pen to be mightier than the sword; thus was born the “Other Deadly Things” series which deals with the murderously wacky world of divorce where biofeedback stress-reduction is the order of the day. Becoming who I am today has been a long trial and error process. It included raising three great sons, a painful divorce, and a risky move across country to begin a new life with an extraordinary new man. Writing for me is just another journey into unknown territory. “If you like lovable, dysfunctional characters and a story that includes mayhem and murder, then you’ll be mad about this series.” - Old Book Barn Gazette

  18. Halfway to Armageddon - Craig C. White was born in 1958 and born again in 1964. In the 1980’s he was an active member of Calvary Church in Santa Ana, California. The expositional bible teaching of then pastor Dr. David Hocking played a major role in building Craig’s biblical literacy. He has been a serious bible student ever since. The views contained in my commentaries are solely my own. I do not accept other views just because they are popular. I try to understand what the bible says. You will find interpretations here that you will scarcely find elsewhere.

When not writing, she can be found getting the steps wrong in a Zumba class or calculating how many miles she has to run to justify an extra piece of cake. Her ambition is to sell enough books to cover the cost of flying herself and a reader to London for tea.
  20. Corpus Christi – The Legacy Chronicles: 1 - Luke Romyn was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1975. His life since reads like something out of his novels: heavily entrenched in personal trauma, action, thrills, and adventure. He's been bodyguard for celebrities internationally and chased feral pigs and snakes from jungle sets on Steven Spielberg productions. Luke has traveled the globe and spent time in some of the most amazing locations the world has to offer. This experience fuels the Australian writer's ever-expansive imagination, and he pours it into his novels, combining fact with fiction, history with fantasy, delivering engrossing action-thrillers which leave fans gasping for more. Luke's quick wit has seen his social media following explode, and he is currently one of the most prolific social media celebrities in Australia, with several hundred thousand followers across the internet. Publishing his first book, The Dark Path, in 2009 saw it voted in the top 10 horror novels of that year, even though Luke denies ever intending the novel to be classed as horror. Luke Romyn is now one of the most popular indie authors in the ever-growing eBook market and personally completes everything from cover art to final formatting, working tirelessly with editors so as to refine the best stories possible for his readers.
