- THE THINGS YOU CAN DO: A Children’s Story About Confidence in Dr. Seuss Style Rhyme by Mr. Meus - 2013-05-31 02:05:51-04
Who IS he, you ask? Who IS Mr. Meus? Any relation to the famed Dr. Seuss? No relation through blood; just connection through rhyme: a marvel that travels through space and through time. That Marvel of Rhyme, carried by Mother Goose, and so beautifully spun by the great Dr. Seuss. Then the Dr. passed on, and his rhymes stayed behind. But who would the Marvel of Rhyme come to find? There was a young man; as "Meus" he was known. And it seemed he was destined also to own... That Marvel of Rhyme, that so very few see. Their names even rhymed--it was just meant to be. Like you, Meus grew up with the Grinch and the Cat. And he felt in himself, "Hey, I can do that." One day he was reading that Green Eggs and Ham, and then he just knew, "I'm a Rhymer, I am." So he dug up some paper and pulled out a pen, and just started writing and then... then... well, then... Born was the Mr. - one tale then another. So go tell your mother, your father, your brother, Your uncle, your grandma, your neighbour, your sister, about this new Meus that they're calling Mr. His rhymes have that marvel of old Mother Goose and that master of rhyme, the great Dr. Seuss. That marvel of Meus: it's awe and then some. So stay tuned for the wonder... there's more yet to come.

- Sweets by Barry Davis - 2013-05-31 02:17:55-04
I have been writing for 10 years, primarily novels but also short stories and screenplays. I write because I have strong opinions and novels are the best way to convey those opinions while offering captivating entertainment. I was born in the ghetto and write from that vantage point. Although I have expanded into horror and fantasy novels my bread and butter is urban fiction. The Sweets Maybrey series is based upon assimilated knowledge of Philadelphia's criminal machinations. My goal is to bring the reader inside the sex and crime while revealing the humanity behind the brutality. My favorite food is, of course, a real deal Philly cheesesteak. I love to write at 3AM in my spare bedroom with a cup a coffee at my elbow. My favorite shows are Justified and Elementary.

He put the finishing touches on his first book in Afghanistan, where he served as a junior officer in the United States Army.

- An Easier Life: 15 THINGS YOU WISH YOU KNEW - 2013-05-31 06:10:20-04
Curiosity may have killed that feline fur ball, but she or him learned a lot before exiting number nine. I too have been curious, wondering why we, I or they acted this way, looked or did it that way or were otherwise human. But curiosity is such a casual word, and the truth is my desire to know was almost desperate. There were times in life that I felt angry when there was no one around, unhappy when life was just fine, times I had trouble with relationships for seemingly no reason, felt sad when…well, you get the idea. That desperate curiosity, along with forty years of inner work, has lead to some interesting answers and some surprising books. I also love to talk with those courageous people who are going for a positive change, and I live to see that eye-widening moment of understanding—the kind of moments you can look forward to with these books. Besides curious and a good listener, I am also a writer who began with a column in the San Jose Mercury News, nationally syndicated. My current project is the series Things That Make Life Better: http://amzn.to/18zrBML So from the Central Coast of the West, I submit these curious jottings of curiosity to be browsed by those who will hopefully find them as entertaining as they do just plain helpful.
- O Human Child - 2013-05-31 06:12:06-04
I live in East Hampton, Long Island, but spend at least as much time writing (and reading) as I do on our glorious beaches or in our art galleries, shops, and restaurants. (Lots more than in our shops! But I like to take my wife, Robin, once in awhile.) I grew up on a farm in Holden, Massachusetts, but I've spent my career in New York City as a writer, publishing more than 100 articles, essays, and stories and helping foundations, museums, hospitals, schools, conservation organizations, and all sorts of other good causes with my writing talents. After a life-long love affair with poetry, I published my first book of poetry, "Touched By Its Rays," in 2008. "How Glad I Am for Man, Tonight" my second poetry book, published in 2013, comprises 77 poems I have written since then. My first novel, "The Price of Hannah Blake," was published in 2013, followed by a second novel, "The Lailly Worm," a suspense and action thriller. I also published a collection of short stories and highly personal essays, "Holidays Frightened My Father and Other Stories." I always have had a passion for stories with gripping plots driven by logic, with heroes and heroines fighting for their values and desires, and with settings and action and dialogue that carry me away to "the homeland of my soul." Nothing brings these elements together like a battle for justice, a struggle for love and the fulfillment of sexual passion, or the obsessive need to understand a mystery, a problem, a threat. I think you will find I am a stylist whose writing will be a pleasure to read--and will take you into places, characters, and the heart of action in a way that will make the pages fly by.

When he is not running a national technology business, Kevin likes to golf, fish, write, and spend time with his family. Kevin is currently working on the sequel to THE WOLF'S CURSE and hopes to share his continuation of Franky's adventures during summer of 2013.
