Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers

  1. Ash: Return Of The Beast by Gary Val Tenuta - 2013-05-27 17:41:35-04
Having had a life long interest in paranormal phenomena, esoteric lore, the supernatural, occult and ancient mysteries and basically anything that could be squeezed into those categories, it should come as no surprise to anyone who knows me that these same elements would become the fodder for my novels and short stories. I grew up devouring Poe, Lovecraft and Roald Dahl and those writers definitely had a huge influence on me. I wonder if they realize what they've done? Maybe I should dig out my old 1920s-era Ouija board and let them know. Nah. Probably not a good idea. I'm a writer and book cover designer with a degree in Social Psychology. My professional writing career began as a contributing writer for Fate Magazine in the 1990s. One of my feature articles about the mystery of the alleged secret military group known as Majestic-12 resulted in requests to appear on radio programs across the U.S. and Canada. My debut novel, The Ezekiel Code (1997), became an amazon.com best-seller for over 57 weeks. My latest novel, a supernatural crime chiller called Ash: Return Of The Beast (Kindle & paperback) is receiving rave reviews and has been compared to the likes of Straub, Koontz, Stephen King, Dan Brown and Dennis Lehane. I'm currently working on a series of short stories for my series called Twisted Tales From The Files Of The Second Chance Limousine Service. Think "Twilight Zone" with a bit of a dark side. Three of those stories ("A Bite Out Of Time", "1st Avenue Annie", and "Atonement") are currently available in Kindle format from amazon.com at 99¢ each. I reside with my big black cat, Bear, in a cozy condo in the Pacific Northwest where, when I'm not writing, I'm busy designing book covers for other authors.

  3. Take A Deep Breath by Shar Dimick - 2013-05-28 02:07:44-04
Shar Dimick started writing stories and poems as a grade-schooler. Her passion for writing continues to grow. Whether writing, a blog entry, a software manual or a chapter in her next novel, not a day goes by where she isn’t writing something. Cousin to her love for writing, Shar’s also an avid reader of romance novels from contemporary to historical. Drawn to the genre from an early age, it seemed natural that her first novel, Take a Deep Breath, be a contemporary romance. Many readers emailed Shar how much they enjoyed Take a Deep Breath and asked for more. Writing in the early mornings and late evenings with a push from the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), she pushed ahead and wrote her next novel, Take Your Time, the second book in what is now the “Lake of the Pines” series. She is currently at work on the third book, Take My Hand. Shar holds a Master of Arts in English from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Shar, her husband and their daughters live in rural Northwest Ohio.
