She stayed for about 2 years before deciding it would be lovely to work as a midwife and in 1993 she qualified on her 26th birthday. She can proudly say, she has delivered over 100 babies and a set of twins. However, having 'itchy feet', after about another 18 months of practice, she decided to try being a 'Rep.' for a medical firm and spent the following 3 years following this career. There was a break of around 5 years whilst bringing up her son before Lisa returned to nursing, this time in an Oncology outpatients department in Southampton. Her final career change came when she was invited to interview for a role within Hampshire Constabulary and spent a very happy 12 years working in the Vetting department before having to give up due to family circumstances.
Lisa has always written. Although, it is only recently that she was afforded the knowledge to actually publish any of her works. She has a couple of books on Amazon and will very shortly be publishing her third. There are many more in her portfolio which she wishes to publish and will be slowly adding to those titles on Amazon.

on the West Side of Chicago to Hurdisteen Davis-Moreland and Frank
Earl Davis. Her parents were middle class. Her parents were Baptist
in fact my mother’s dad was a Baptist Preacher in Mississippi. She
attended Bradwell Grammar school on the East side of Chicago up to
7th grade and transferred to James Madison Grammar school on the
South Side of Chicago. She graduated 1985 due to my transferring to
another school. She attended South Shore High school in 1985. She
only attended this school for a year don’t ask me why she could not tell
you why she decided to drop out but she did. By the time she made
18 she had my first child in 1988. During this time she decided it was
time for her to go back to school to get a GED. She attended classes
but also began to start working as a cashier at the neighborhood corner
store. She got married to the manager there at 19 and discontinued
attending classes. We were married for 3 years and they got a divorce
because she asked for one. They divorced because she was too young
to understand my duties as a wife. After a year had passed, she had
two boys. She had a good childhood but my adult life was very confusing and complicated. After she had her two boys in 93, she began
to be physically abused by their dad. This went on for 5 years until she
listened to a song that encouraged her to move on. Her son’s dad and
her broke up and he moved out of her apartment with her two sons.
She raised her daughter alone without her dad who is not her two
son’s dad. Her sons were taken care of with her paying child support and their grandmother on their dad’s side. After they broke up it was
not for another year she remarried in 1998. She was then with this
person for 14 years; in a relationship with him for 6 years and married
for 8 years. In 2003 she received her High School Diploma at Central
High School Online a Division of Farrington University in Herndan,
VA. After she received her High School Diploma she began to go
College. She attended Lewis University a semester to study Sociology,
University of Phoenix several semesters to study Accounting It was
not until she attended Kaplan University Online that she received an
Associate’s Degree in Art and Science of Psychology with the concentration on the Behaviors of children and adults. They got a divorce in
2010 due to his infidelity throughout the relationship. She worked
most of her life from the time she was 19 until she got laid off from a
major IT company in 2009. This layoff caused her to become homeless by 2011 and by 2012 she had to discontinue college to receive
a Bachelor’s degree due to the program she participated in at PGM.
She also lived with family and friends which did not work out well off
and on for 5 years until 2018. She remarried again February 7, 2018
to Herman C. Richardson. They both are Baptist Christians and are
members of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago,
IL. Life for her was not easy but she is encouraged.

Handlebar ignored them, listening. The planks of the pier flexed and fell like piano keys.

Lonny retreated still further. “Maybe we should get back inside.”

“You gonna swim for it?” said Stanley. “We’re cut off.”

Lonny looked at the cedar pole laying across the deck, and the downed lines which popped and frizzled. His lower lip started to tremble.

Suddenly, starting at the apex of the dock, the floorboards jumped—rifling and breaking and splintering in a line. The men clambered off Chin, scattering as something split the dock up the middle, like a torpedo. Chin turned, saw a wave of busting boards rushing at him. He scrambled to his feet and dove out of the way, landed at the edge where he saw a dark shape sweep past just below the surface. A tail—long as the first creature’s entire body.

Everything stopped, and there was a silence.

“Stay alert,” shouted Chin. He scrambled away from the edge. “It hasn’t gone. It’s still under the dock.”

Everyone looked at each other as wood creaked and water lapped. Even Handlebar seemed frightened and disheveled.

“Screw this shit, man,” said Lonny. He backed toward the cafe, toward the spitting electrical cables. His eyes were bugged out and his flesh had gone white as bird shit. He dropped his rifle.

Handlebar stared at his own boots, which were soaked in blood. He seemed to be having some sort of internal crisis. He reached up with a trembling hand and twisted his mustache repeatedly. He came out of it suddenly and looked at Lonny.

“Hey. Kid. Listen.” He walked toward him, changing clips. “You’re taking all this too seriously. It’s toying with us, that’s all.”

He held out his shotgun to him. “Here. The goo—Chin—he’s right. It’s still beneath the dock. Probably scared. Why don’t you do the honors?”

Lonny hesitated, trembling. “Y-you mean it’s just trying to scare us?”

Handlebar tweaked his nose. “That’s right.”

The fire returned to the young man’s eyes—almost. He looked around the shattered dock, at the riddled corpse and the oily, bloody water, at the spitting power lines and the dead lights, the peeling boardwalk on the shore.

He shook his head. “No, it’s not. It—it doesn’t pretend, like you. It’s gonna kill us, that’s all.” He stepped closer. “Can’t you see that? You posing hillbilly? The spill’s given it a—a lean season. It’s sick, and it’ s hungry, and …”

He glanced at the corpse. “We probably just killed its mate.”
