David Rich grew up as a farm boy on a ranch in southwestern Colorado near the Four Corners. His dad introduced him to tractors and cattle, and his mother to music and travel. After high school David received an alternate appointment to the Air Force Academy but ended up touring the country with an amazing group of fellow misfits in the fighting 529th Air Force Band. The Air Force was relieved to discharge him a few months early to attend the University of Colorado in Boulder. I grew up in Estes Park, Colorado, and spent my formative years among deer, coyotes, and beautiful blue columbine. I could see snow-capped peaks in almost every direction.
