About The saga of the Phoenix – vol.1 by Oriano Galvanini

During one of his travels to Brazil, the protagonist, a young wireless officer, received by radio a message in Morse code in which a mysterious Russian, embarked on a Yugoslavian motorship moored in Rio Grande do Sul, asked him for a meeting, upon his arrival to that port, scheduled after a few days. During the meeting, which the young man had accepted out of pure curiosity, the Russian proposed to him a vague collaboration with a transnational organization with not very clear contours. He refused, but the Russian, to convince him, announced that the next destination of the s/s Bayhorse, the ship on which the young officer was embarked, would be Jacksonville, Fl, USA. Since no one could know it at that moment, not even the shipowner who usually concluded all chartering contracts, time by time, he did not believe the Russian and thought of a hoax even if made for inexplicable reasons.
When, a week later, the captain of the Bayhorse, as soon as he heard the news of the new destination from the shipowner, communicated it to all officers and was precisely the one indicated by the Russian, the young man wanted to meet him again to deepen what had been told earlier. During the second meeting the Russian was not much more detailed in the explanation but told him that a mysterious object had been hidden in the first-aid room of the ship, and the young man was to deliver upon his arrival, to an appointee, who would also provide him with all the details about the future collaboration. He, driven by his innate curiosity, accepted and once sailing, he struggled to find the mysterious object hidden on board. After delivery on arrival, the appointee did not have time to provide enough details but informed him of another similar item to be delivered to the next port, this time to Bombay in India, where every aspect, until at that time mysterious, would be clarified.
During the meeting in India he was proposed to collaborate with this organization, The Phoenix, which operated worldwide and had unlimited financial resources and technologies unthinkable in those years. He was chosen because he was considered fit for the task they would assign to him, on the basis of some mental analyses to which he had been subjected without his knowledge. He accepted because he fully agreed with the goals the Phoenix wanted to achieve in the long term. After a few trips on board of s/s Bayhorse, during which he had the opportunity to verify the extraordinary technologies at Phoenix disposal, he was asked to disembark and reach their underground base, in the desert of Nevada, in the United States.
At the base he discovered a world unknown and wonderful to him. The technologies they had were so advanced that in the 1960s no one would even have guessed them. What astonished him most, was the way of transferring information from a computer archive directly into the human mind. He himself underwent gradual notional treatments that took his knowledge to unthinkable levels before then. Gradually his position grew in importance in the organization, until he reached the highest levels of management and joined the Council, after receiving the final notional treatment. At that point it was clear to him many political, economic and social events that had occurred in the last fifty years that had been communicated to the masses but adapted for political, economic or military purposes. The Phoenix archives had the true answers to all the mysteries of that time as its external agents, working in the shadows, discreetly sought to influence the various governments. The ultimate goal was to achieve, for all the inhabitants of the planet, a coexistence and a well-being equally shared and to guarantee everyone an individual freedom that, however, was prevented from turning into a prevarication for others. At that time it was still utopian, but over the next hundred years, the target, that the Phoenix had set at the beginning, will be fully achieved.
The protagonist at the age of 70 retires with his wife to a ranch in Arizona and his place will be taken by his son, but only his grandchild will see, the results of his work.
In the following years, The Phoenix worked in the shadows to influence governments to practice more supportive policies not subjected to international financial powers. When, within a hundred years, the Earth becomes a single nation populated by wealthy people, without conflicts, racism, economic rivalries, The Phoenix manifests itself to the masses and publicly offers all its technologies making them available to all, for the common well-being. At this point the world government entrusted The Phoenix with scientific research and the exploration of the space. One of the most valiant commanders of spaceships will be, indeed, the grandson of the young wireless officer.
At the beginning of the space exploration, some senior officials of The Phoenix ask themselves about the question of how the Phoenix was born and who founded it. During the colonization of a planet in the Alpha Centauri system, Commander Gordon discovers clues that will lead him to shed light on all the secrets of The Phoenix.
Following the clues discovered on Alpha Centauri, Gordon arrives in the constellation of Andromeda, where on a mysterious planet that orbits a red dwarf called Upsilon Andromedae, he meets incorporeal beings who use malformed bodies locked up underground as a home. These beings have a mission and that is to make the various civilizations present in the universe evolve and promote their peaceful coexistence. They ware the ones who created the Phoenix on the Earth.
After revealing their mission, they ask Gordon for help. One of the species they had helped to evolve, rebelled and became a cruel one. They had the most advanced technologies but had a primitive and ruthless social organization similar to that of the Middle Ages on the Earth. Only the Terrestrians seem able to counter them and restore peace.
In the second volume, Terrestrans have at their disposal extremely advanced technologies and weapons capable of facing and overhelming any enemy. With his mighty fleet, Gordon discovers, in the constellation of the Peacock, the planet Uluth that has been subdued by the merciless beings and helps the rebels to free themselves from the invaders. The same will happen on many other worlds until the final victory.
When the whole universe will be at peace as the incorporeal beings of Upsilon Andromedae wanted, the Terrestrial race will be the predominant one and will continue to impose the peace even by force. Then a doubt will come: will they be as peaceful as they appeared at the beginning of their conquests. Will the peace imposed by them be like that imposed many centuries ago by the Roman Empire? What the other species will have in return from Terrestrians?

I was born in Trieste, Italy, in 1944 and I’m living now in the country, near to Udine, Italy.
In my twenties, I sailed as a wireless officer on Panamanian-flagged merchant ships and traveled on the sea for some years. One day, an officer, who was sailing with me, told me in confidence: “either you stop sailing now or you will be, like me, a gypsy on the sea for all your life without a normal family and without having the opportunity to be close to your sons until retirement age.” I thought a lot about those words and after a few months, decided to disembark.
During the next years, I have dedicated myself to various activities in the field of electronics and also, in the last 20 years, in cosmetics, first as export manager and after, with my own business, as exporter of Italian made skin care products, some of them devised by me personally.
A few years ago, after a large part of my life spent abroad, I decided it was time to stop and retire to the countryside. Now, at my tender age of 76, I was reminded to write. Not because I am an older guy who is bored, on the contrary, living in a big old house, I would find pastimes as bricoleur, as many as I want.
One day, when I put some old books on new shelves, I had a radiotechnics manual in my hands (it was not only an obsolete book but I think incomprehensible to those who nowadays deal with electronics, unless they are also interested in archeology) that had served me, in the night of time, to take the state exam to obtain the license of wireless officer. Leafing through it with a little nostalgia, I confess, I started to think that the figure of the wireless officer has not only disappeared for many years but, nowadays, few people know what he was doing on board.
At that moment I told myself that it might be nice to tell it around, not only because that role has been part of my life for years, but also because, in those years, no ship in the world would have been allowed to sail without a wireless officer on board. I therefore decided to describe and tell circumstances and events that happened on sea, seen through the eyes of the protagonist, a young wireless officer.

Halfway through the story, I wondered if I had bored the eventual reader with adventures that, although interesting at first, then become repetitive. Each storm is similar to the others. All evenings spent on shore in an exotic port resemble each other. Human relations on board are always the same, governed by a compulsory hierarchy. So I decided to insert a little mystery into the story, referring to my interest in the history of the universe and in the astrophysics, that have always attracted me as a curious self-taught.

The purpose of this book is to address the twin-problem of mispronunciation and misspelling of English words, and this has been done by bringing to the fur commonly mispronounced words in English and their correct pronunciation, with the aid of both phonemic transcription and audio pronunciation for each word. Readers who cannot read or interpret phonemic transcription of words have the luxury of listening to the actual audio pronunciation of each word. up the dictionary only to find out to their amazement that they are wrong. For instance, many users still erroneously spell “receive” as “recieve”, “expatiate” as “expantiate”, “covenant” as “convenant”, “buoyant” as “bouyant”, “length” as “lenght, “argument” as “arguement”, which are all wrong.

According to an extensive analysis by NASA astrophysicist Thomas Brophy and his team, three stones inside the Nabta calendar circle represent the belt of Orion, just as the three pyramids of Giza align to represent that same constellation. The stones of the Nabta Playa’s stone calendar circle and the corresponding stars in the sky aligned on summer solstice nights as they appeared circa 16,500 B.C. Based on these and other analyses, Brophy’s team concluded that the ancient builders of Nabta Playa possessed highly sophisticated astronomical knowledge, the type of knowledge we associate with advanced civilization.
Plato (c. 428-348 B.C.) writes of Egyptian masters presenting him with historical records extending back some 18,000 years: “Egypt has recorded and kept eternally the wisdom of the ancient ages, all coming from time immemorial when gods governed the earth in the dawn of civilization.” Herodotus tells us that when Hecataeus of Miletus (550-476 BC) boasted to the Egyptian priests that he could trace his ancestry through fifteen centuries, they quietly showed him, in a hidden sanctuary deep under the sands, the statutes of 345 high priests, each the son of the preceding, making 345 generations since their “gods” had appeared in the Nile valley and marking a timeline extending back one-hundred-eighty centuries.

Award-winning author of The Chronicles of Agartha – The Green Boy, is a fantasy fan and a history enthusiast as well. Originally a medical doctor who fell in love with the art of the word, and has since gone on to write several books in the various genres of fantasy. Some of his works include The Chronicles of Agartha Series, The Door, and The Eye of The Storm from the Esfah Saga series.

I live in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State with my beautiful wife, Sheila, and my three wonderful kids. I was an attorney for 20 years, but it was never the right fit for me. Sherif Guirguis
An Egyptian by birth, cosmopolitan by convection, Sherif started writing at the age of eight, and he didn’t stop since then. He always thought that the our world needed a dash of magic, and this is what he always included in his writings.

Isaac Michaan
Isaac Michaan is a Brazilian programmer, born in S.P, Brazil .
The first book he read was The Chocolate Factory, but the truth is, he was forced to read the book, since he didn’t want to, however since then he developed a passion for reading more and more.

In the beginning, he wrote mini stories, but then he prepared himself for a big project. His dream was to write a series of books of fantasy like the famous ones, Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, however, the first series of books that inspired and pushed him to do so, was Deltora Quest.

It wasn’t an easy task as he thought it would be, it took at least three to four attempts to finally gets the material for the book. Life took its turns and he almost quit and left the work behind, which would have resulted for the story to never have been told. But thankfully he tried and tried until finally he got something substantial to start with.
He was happy to find a co-author who helped him a lot to get this project done, without him it would still be only the draft material on his desk.

Now, Isaac is finishing his degree in BS.c. and looking for career opportunities in the cyber field. He is very thankful for his family and their support.
