She hid the box under her bed, and carried the letter with her everywhere she went for weeks. She must have re-read it a hundred times trying to decipher its meaning, and especially the intensity of Grampa’s words.
By the time her best friend, Patti, discovered the box and accused Carly of keeping secrets, which they’d promised each other they would never do, Carly was worn out from trying to hold her curiosity at bay. So, it was fairly easy for Patti to convince her that it was the right time to open the box.

Most authors have a story about when their budding love of writing began, and I am no different.
It all began with a love for the written word. When I was six years old I started reading voraciously, faster than suitable books full of adventure and mystery were being written for my age group. So I advanced to reading books that were written for children much older. At this level I found a much better selection of the type of stories I wanted to read.
I loved being transported to places far away, where the characters were surviving against all odds, or solving mysteries, or searching for an elusive object in order to save the world from a villain, who wished to use the object for his diabolical plan to take over control of ________ (fill in the blank). I can still hear my mama telling people that if the world was coming down around us, I’d still have my nose in a book.
Then, I’m sure you won’t be surprised to learn, it was a teacher that led me to my love of writing. My sixth grade history teacher asked our class to write a short story about a fictional character in a historical setting of our choosing. I wrote a story about a young boy who was in the Crusades in the fourteenth century. When I received my graded story back from the teacher, she had written A++ ‘This is the work of a college student’. What a euphoric feeling those few words gave me. It became a battle at times, vying between my love of reading, and my new love of writing, because darn it, I couldn’t do both at the same time.
So now… since the advent of Amazon, I spend the majority of my time writing books and marketing my books. Then at night on my way to dreamland, I usually slip in a bit of reading books.

My name is Ian Williams and I am a writer from the UK. I’ve been writing on and off for most of my life, but only published my first book in 2014. Anything I’d written before then is now stacked up in my office waiting to be turned into a full book. I think it’s fair to say that I am now well and truly hooked on writing and publishing novels.
I have been a fan of all things Sci-Fi since a young age. My preferences place me on the Star Trek side of the fence rather than Star Wars. Hi! My name is Junia Wonders.
I have dreamed of telling stories since I was a child. I can remember telling a story about a family of nine, a father, a mother, and their seven children (all below ten) traversing the solitary desert on foot with a lone camel, which the children sometimes rode, all seven of them, when their feet got too tired. How did they all fit on one camel you might ask? Well, a rolled mat was placed on top of the camel’s hump. Balancing precariously, three children sat on each side of the mat and the seventh (the heaviest one) sat in the middle.
Every night, they would stop somewhere, preferably near an oasis or a sheltered spot to camp and rest their weary legs. The children would gaze at the night sky and make up stories about the stars. I was around five when I first came up with this story. I doodled on my notebooks and told this story over and over until I grew older and came up with other stories, which I can’t remember anymore. But it was one of the happiest times of my life, imagining this family travelling endlessly under a picture perfect desert sky.
One day, I woke up and realised I had finally obtained a degree from a respectable university, but it had nothing to do with creative writing. It was for the best, I thought, as I needed to let go of my fancy imaginings (silly made up stories!) and become a responsible adult, which meant I had to get a job, get my own apartment, earn my own keep so to speak. And that’s what I did for the next decade and a half. But a voice inside me kept pestering me to sit down and write those stories. I don’t know about you but when you start hearing a persistent voice inside you telling you to write a story, you’d better sit down and write that story. I only wish I had listened to that voice sooner. But I can’t turn back time and I most certainly refuse to live in regret. Each day I have from now on is golden, an opportunity to make my dreams happen. Thankfully, it is not too late.
Having ignored that voice for so long, I finally listened to it. I began writing. And for the first time in my life, I feel so alive. Like a heavy black shroud was lifted from me, leaving me ten times lighter and freer. Is this what it feels like to finally pursue your passion? To chase your dream? Because it is such a wonderful feeling.

Hello I am Michael Preston. I started writing when I was much younger, But had a quite horrific RTA in 1981 I was only 11 , that made quite a mess of me, im still recovering now. theses days it affects me greatly, and has now consigned me to the home, but I did do a great deal before I became worse, ive done so many different jobs, met so many different characters, maybe subconsciously I was preparing myself for this.now in my; H…Huh Forty’s, and being a tad unwell, I started writing again, this first story is about Us, our origins, are we who we think we are ; and I don’t just mean on a physical level. the book im putting out there is part one, of hopefully 3 parts. Im certain there will be errors and mistakes but give me a chance ive just started. I love to tell stories make stuff up, I have completed stories, characters completed, just sitting there in my wacky brain waiting for life. ive started on my second book (the cause of effect) working title its a different style to this one but its coming on nicely.
I love Gaming, PC mainly as I adore technology, new tech is exciting ( I am a bit of a geek). Games aren’t games anymore they are graphic interactive stories; I personally think games are the graphic novels of today. Im a big fan of assassins creed series great stories, and games. @ubisoft are very good, those games have proper novels to go with the games. But I digress, that’s me a waffler; never know when to stop.

Born in Salt Lake City Utah, Jason grew up on a steady diet of anime, science fiction, Dungeons and Dragons, JRPG’s, and chocolate cake donuts. Stockholm syndrome gave him his beautiful wife, and the stork (according to his understanding) gave him his four wonderful children.
Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in I.T. Management and is currently the Internet Marketing Manager for a local bookstore chain, but he has sworn by Grabthar’s hammer that he will one day quit his “9 to 5″ and write full-time. He is also a proud “anonymous” member of the Space Balrogs comedy troupe, and he speaks fluent Labrador.
