After a night filled with mayhem and destruction and the deaths of several prominent entertainers, politicians and a notorious bank robber, the Federal government was forced to loan $1.5 billion dollars to Chrysler. This spurred a series of violent protests, resulting in the Brunah Agate oil spill. Over 10.7 million gallons of oil were dumped into the Galveston Bay. This became the worst oil spill disaster in U.S. history.

About the Authors
Jennifer and Christopher Martucci hoped that their life plan had changed radically in early 2010. To date, the jury is still out. But late one night, in January of 2010, the stay-at-home mom of three girls under the age of six had just picked up the last doll from the playroom floor and placed it in a bin when her husband startled her by declaring, “We should write a book, together!” Wearied from a day of shuttling the children to and from school, preschool and Daisy Scouts, laundry, cooking and cleaning, Jennifer simply stared blankly at her husband of fifteen years. After a life time of writing poetry, books, nonfiction, and legal documents, it was author Ray Bradbury’s friendship and encouragement that finally inspired Dale E. Manolakas to pursue writing as a career. He taught her that the characters wrote the book–she didn’t. Raised just outside Los Angeles by a surgeon father and a homemaker-author mother, Dale E. Manolakas had always aspired to an acting career, but also had to make a living.
Dale E. Manolakas earned her B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles, and M.A., M.S., Ph.D. and J.D. degrees from the University of Southern California. She is a member of the California Bar, had the privilege of clerking for The Honorable Arthur L. Alarcón at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, was a litigator in two major Los Angeles law firms, and a senior appellate attorney at the California Court of Appeals, as well as an Administrative Law Judge.
Before that she was a teacher, primarily at the high school, adult school, and university levels, and holds a public administrative services credential. In addition, she has pursued her passion for acting, primarily on the stage, but also in film and television. She is a member of both Actors’ Equity and SAG-AFTRA. She also has raised three very independent daughters and lives with her husband, a retired attorney, in an otherwise animal-free environment in California.

But he’d do whatever it took to get the Bush name on the wall of a museum even if it meant forging a masterpiece and posing as a priest.
Pop always said there was nothing more important than the family name.

Meggan Haller’s first writing credit, at six years old, was a story called “Wooden Bread” about a woman so poor she had to feed her children bread made from a tree. After an exhaustive round of querying, Haller decided to self-publish the story on her sister’s Petite 990 typewriter and laminate it with cellophane tape. Today, her self-published stories are tape-free.
Haller’s most cherished accomplishments are not the kind you put on a resume. She photographed Ray Allen’s first hole in one (he’s a basketball player, not a golfer). She’s a member of the Goodyear Blimp Club (you have to ride the Blimp to join the club). She won $4,444 on “Let’s Make A Deal” wearing her mother’s wedding dress (circa 1972). She canoed across the Everglades, walked across Spain, and on her honeymoon, she hiked Longs Peak. Anything else she tells you she’s done is a lie, which is why she enjoys fiction writing.
