Shiriluna Nott is an (almost) 30-year-old gal from the northeast, currently residing in Texas with her long term boyfriend and four fur babies (three dogs and a cat).
She and fellow author SaJa H. created the world of Arden and its many colorful characters during their teenager years and have been writing short stories about it ever since. I grew up on the Gulf Coast and a seagoing career just came naturally. After graduation from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, I sailed as a ship’s officer for a number of years and then spent a decade in shore side ship management before becoming an independent (i.e. self-employed) marine surveyor in 1986. Some years later I formed a company specializing in ship construction management and supervision. I’ve been a lot of places, seen interesting things, and lived for extended periods in both South America and the Far East (Singapore and China). By far the most interesting aspect of travel (and life in general) is the people you meet along the way, and I’ve had the good fortune to encounter a lot of interesting characters. Bits and pieces of some of them make their way into the characters of my novels.
I write the type of stories I like to read. For me, that means ordinary people forced by circumstances into extraordinary situations. I dislike stories in which the hero is some combination of brain surgeon/nuclear physicist (or who has some equally far-fetched skill set) and who just coincidentally happens to be an ace helicopter pilot and a fifth degree black belt in several different martial arts. Like the rest of us mortals, my characters are normal people who screw up from time to time and have to live with the results.
I’m currently retired from the marine business and living in Tennessee with my lovely (and patient) wife of 39 years. Our current and mutual ambition is to return to Singapore for several months each year. In addition to writing and travel, I occasionally (when cornered) complete a task on my ‘honey do’ list, and from time to time, join my wife in badgering our children to produce grandchildren. All in all, a rewarding life.

About Three Magical Beings of Light – A Short Story of a Most Unusual Encounter:
In a mystical short story about true Spirit, Cedric and Prunella, out for a walk along a brook in a lush forest, go quite a bit further than they should and encounter something very unexpected.
Appearing in front of them, not more than a three steps away, spread right alongside the brook, is a very large white satin quilt. Upon the quilt sit three amazing creatures busily arranging large silver platters piled with sandwiches, steaming silver teapots, and crystal cups of various sizes. The three beings appear to be something like fairies, as they have delicate wings, but are rather large, being at least half as tall as Cedrick. Even more remarkable is the fact that they are luminous, each one glowing brightly within a haze of surrounding light, each one radiating ever shifting pure pastel colors of light. “About time,” exclaims one of the glowing creatures. “Time for tea,” says another. “That’s right, time for tea,” says the third.
Cedrick and Prunella stand as if frozen in place, not exactly afraid but astonished beyond words. The three luminous creatures stop and stare at them with glistening eyes, as if waiting.
As it turns out, the three mystical creatures have a message for young Cedrick and Prunella, one that changes their lives forever. Trent knows his little game has gone too far when he and Sabrina kiss after the mask finally comes off. Even though it’s the best kiss of his life he’s relieved when she calls it off.
Sabrina is appalled she almost gave herself to a man she doesn’t know who will soon be leaving. She doesn’t want her first time to be a one-night stand, but wants to keep seeing him. Before the liquid courage wears off, she calls him to say she’s reconsidered.
During one of her many attempts at the new column Sabrina enters an adult “toy” store, she overhears two little old ladies talking about “sex toys.” While she’s shocked by their conversation, they also give her several ideas on how to enlighten herself. Her next attempt at “educating Sabrina” lands her in jail for solicitation. It seemed like a wonderful idea–who better to tell her what men want and like than a prostitute? She just didn’t count on the prostitute being an undercover cop.
When she calls “Travis” to come bail her out of jail, it’s the real Travis who shows up, swearing he’s never met her before, as Trent rushes in behind his brother.
The discovery of Trent’s game hurts and angers Sabrina, but she also realizes she now wields all the power. Sabrina has a game of her own, called “Payback” and it’s time for Trent to pay up.
A guilty Trent is ready to pay only he doesn’t count on her being quite so good at being vindictive. Sabrina takes great pleasure at putting him into embarrassing situations relishing his torment. From intimate dinners, to shopping for lingerie to find out what turns him on, to walking him through “adult” stores and asking endless questions is only the beginning of his discomfort.
Trent sticks to his guns, ignoring her explicit shenanigans to get him into bed, believing he must follow his conscious for both their sakes. He realizes he can’t live without Sabrina and plans to whisk her away and propose to her on New Years’ Eve, with a Midnight wedding ceremony, complete with her family and his to celebrate their marriage.
