Author Bio:
I was born, raised, and educated mostly in Orange County, California. I learned to read when I was four years old and had my own library card. My grade school teachers were not pleased when I my reading primers home and read them cover to cover the first night of school. I became interested in writing early on and wrote my first short story in second grade about an ant. It ended rather abruptly when the ant was smashed by a foot.
I attended U. C. Riverside graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Medieval History and Technical Theatre, both guaranteed to keep me working in unrelated fields. I’ve moved many times, mostly east and northward, and traveled to Europe several times (Scotland is my favorite destination). I’ve tried numerous occupations including climbing telephone poles, picking oranges on a kibbutz in Israel, managing a bookstore, teaching high school and managing a medical research lab.
I now live in rural Eastern Washington State with my husband, and three pets: a wolf-canine mix, a cattle dog, and a cat who thinks she’s a dog. In the winter I shovel snow and in the summer I garden. I also spend a lot of time on my laptop.

I’m Dan Eitreim and I worked as a professional photographer running my own photo studio for over 20 years. I’ve never apprenticed or worked for any other photographers. Because of this, I’ve had to learn and develop my photography skills on my own.

My first attempts were dismal to say the least…so I studied, practiced and developed my photo skills and along the way I not only learned how to put the “wow” into my photos, but I’ve also learned how to teach others to do the same!

To that end I’ve compiled a 23 volume series of photo training lessons that I’ve titled: “On Target Photo Training”.

I, the author Matt Lacny, picked up weightlifting when I was about 14 years old to overcome being skinny. I started to notice results when I was 16 and other people started to notice them when I was about 18. I became very motivated when I was in science class and the teacher was explaining ectomorphs. The teacher used me as an example. He had me stand up and he said “Matt is an excellent example of an ectomorph, notice how skinny he is? No matter what Matt does he will always be skinny”. To a pubescent teen this could not have been more embarrassing, I already put in 2 years of hard work and I was still being seen as a skinny kid. I was skinny though I was about 6’3″ and 160 lbs. That fueled me more than anything else that has ever happened to me. I went back to books and studied what I could do to gain muscle. What I noticed was most of the literature at that time was written by individuals that did not have a physique that I wanted. I wanted to gain size, so to me what made sense was to go to the people that were experts in their field. The experts to me were bodybuilders. I could not think of a better person to learn from than someone that took gaining size to the extreme. So I started to read bodybuilding magazines and I joined a gym that was popular with bodybuilders. I took in what I could and I incorporated what I could into my routine. By my senior year I graduated weighing in at 225 lbs. The point I am trying to get across is that many times barriers are often presented to us and if we do not challenge them nothing changes. Weightlifting has helped me get through some of the worst periods of my life because more than anything weightlifting is mental. In this guidebook I share the knowledge that I have gained throughout my 20 year career in weight lifting. I never subscribed to one theory, but rather I took what I needed or wanted and implemented it the way I wanted. This guidebook is intended to provide you with a firm base so you can advance yourself with weightlifting. Even if you do not weight lift the things I present can be used in just about any type of workout.
