There’s a very good reason why this book was written. In a world where there are so many pressures, it was so clear to me that people no longer see the true choices which are available to them which allow them to be happy. Positive thinking isn’t always as obvious to people as it should be. In fact, the pressures put on people to “excel” or to “achieve” forget the major principles which need to be applied within a lifetime in order to feel happy and fulfilled. The temporary pressures of feeling good have begun to be blurred by material possessions and by trying to live up to standards set by someone else. The media gives people the impression that self-image is everything, but then go about destroying what self-image is all about by dictating how people should look, behave and present themselves.

About A River in the Ocean:
When a near fatal accident separates a single father from his daughter, fate has a way of finding her a good home. While Chris fights for his life in a coma for nine years, his daughter Krista is raised by a well-intentioned couple who have no idea how to properly raise a child. Years go by and Chris has developed an entire life with a girl he knows only through paintings. He keeps them locked up in a private room while his other paintings have gained notoriety throughout the art community as the “Insider’s Secret.” The exposure he is getting brings him face to face with Maggie and a teenage girl named Krista. Something strange suddenly stirs in both of them.
It’s certainly a drama, but with comedy to lighten the way. “A River in the Ocean” is a heartwarming tale about two lost souls, only one of them feels it and the other has yet to know. He didn’t know he was looking. She didn’t know she needed found. It leads to an ultimate conclusion that has the potential to either push them together or drive them apart.

My writing started out as poetry, which then evolved to songs, and later into novels. I was never one for the short stories as I found it too difficult to pack everything I imagined into something so small. I now have multiple novels published independently. I write both novels for young adults and novels for adults – all romance.

The pyramid on my novel’s front cover is the actual Mayan ‘Temple of the Inscriptions.’ My brother and I climbed up and down this pyramid several times when we were ten years old. It is an amazing and beautiful pyramid which is the central structure of the ancient Mayan city of Palenque. We were accidentally locked inside the pitch black pyramid while staring at King Pakal’s resting place.
Stay Home Dad
A part time stay home dad, to be precise. That’s who I am.
My wife and I have always dreamed of the idea to share the work, at school and at home. When I was offered a 50 percent job in Switzerland seven years ago, we grabbed the opportunity. My wife worked 20 percent and it was a year of pinching pennies.
A year later, my wife could increase her percentage at a local high school to 40 percent and that was when we really experienced what our idea meant. It was a turbulent year. Tough on my part since I wasn’t the typical male provider anymore. Tough on my wife’s part, because I entered her domain at home and with the day to day decisions about the children. Two ways of upbringing, two cultures clashed at first. But we managed and grew stronger.
Six years later, we are still living that model. Our boys are used to the idea of mom and dad taking turns and being home. Yes, we earn less than we could. Yes, we could buy a bigger and newer car and house. Yes, we lose on pension. But we have enough, time is of the upmost improtance. And nothing would ever compensate the time that we have at hand for our children and for each other, the true luxury of our days. Living simple and slow is rewarding and healthy for anyone willing to give it a shot!

I like how this poet captures wretched despair in his poem “A Pacifist’s Agony.” He also shares my disdain for putting birds in cages. They should fly free.

Amnon Jackont was born in Israel in 1948 and grew up in Ramat Gan. He was born to a bourgeois family that immigrated to Israel after WWII from Belgium and received a European education which laid emphasize on good manners. Yet, he soon realized that a well behaved boy cannot survive among children whose parents had come from different countries and preferred to settle accounts by fists rather than politeness.Since he was robust and physically strong, he had no problem dealing with belligerent boys.Yet apprehensive least he should harm other kids, he learned how to practice self-control.
In 1966 he was drafted to the IDF and participated in operations which are still kept in the dark. He was first wounded when the truck he rode hit a mine; he luckily survived and woke up in the hospital with a broken back. Four years later he was wounded again, while in service in a hostile foreign country, where he was imprisoned for several months before being released. His military experiences continually provide him with materials for his books.
After his service, Jackont became involved in a variety of business activities (insurance, securities and real estate) for over two decades. He then spent four more years writing a PhD dissertation.
