Forget it… You’re Dead! Chapter One: The Dead Escape It was already late at night. This was supposed to be the time when the tired day workers and the elderly prep themselves for sleep. The thing is, it wasn’t the ordinary kind of neighborhood. Underneath all the simplicities, smiles and cheery laughter, you’ll find something that isn’t supposed to be in a nice neighborhood. “Help! Please somebody! Help!” someone screamed in the middle of the night. It was an injured young man limping on the street. He remembered being tied up in a chair about an hour ago. He could slightly picture the room. It wasn’t really dark. There was a faint hint of light coming from the light bulb. But he knew it wasn’t bright enough to let him distinguish the objects that surrounded him. The man had no idea where he was. Hs body felt sweaty, but the temperature around him made him cold. He realized that the rope was loose. He wasn’t sure of whether the killer wasn’t strong enough to tighten it or was just stupid enough to let him go. He felt so relieved when he was able to finally loosen the rope with his hands. The young man, now free, decided to take his chance and try to escape. He went upstairs to see if anyone was around. He thought that the killer was working alone. He couldn’t really bring his hostage to a place where people were around. He peeked through the window to check if anyone was hiding outside. “I have to get out of here before that psycho comes back,” he thought to himself. It must have meant that he was in a deserted forest. He quietly began to walk outside of the killing house. He was careful not to attract any attention. All he had in mind was running and running some more in order to stay alive and get as far away from that place as humanly possible. But before he could do that, he noticed that he had spotted a car. The image of the car slightly became more visible as he neared it. He saw that the car was old. He thought that it could still run. He wanted to check the car for keys as if he were trying to test his fate again. The key to the killer’s car was conveniently inserted in the ignition switch as if the killer had intended for him to escape. Without hesitation, he drove the car and was already gone. He thought that it was too easy for him to escape. “Maybe the killer is a forgetful old man” he joked as he stepped on the accelerator. He drove through the dead of night onwards to where the city was. What he didn’t know would have probably killed him. He had no idea that the killer was actually forgetful enough to not have replaced the car’s broken brakes. It was already too late when he tried to park the speeding car. At that moment, hope was his only choice. Hope that he would live to change the terrible decision he made. The vehicle started spinning violently until it crashed. It hit the wall of the nearby building. Anyone who could have been there would have thought the driver was already dead. The car was smashed and the front section was terribly broken. Nobody would have survived that crash. But this time it wasn’t the case.
