Think about it! You see that grassy hill over yonder? If you wanted to, you could run on top of that hill and lay there until the sun sets and the stars come out. After all, nothing is stopping you. Exploring the bounds of musical compositions, traveling, friendship, love, exploring terrain no man has gone before, sailing as far as you can out into the endless ocean… there are endless opportunities this world provides. All you have to do is follow your heart and create your own “adventure of a lifetime.”

If you haven’t noticed, I sincerely appreciate life. And as a result, I like to do everything I can to foster a great and healthy lifestyle. I enjoy taking care of my body, maintaining a healthy mindset and looking good. I enjoy yoga, growing my own organic herbs, swimming, taking hikes and anything else that I happen to want to do on a whim! I hope to share my enthusiasm for life to others. I am an accidental author. My day to day living revolves around “writing” loan applications as a mortgage loan officer. I have been working in the mortgage business for the past 14 years. Here is the answer: “I have been having dreams about following a handsome Indian brave into the woods since I was seven. He would show me very scary and troublesome visions that I couldn’t understand as a child. The Indian brave is named Metacom or ‘King Philip’ who was a great man and sachem or leader of the local Wampanoag tribe who launched the very first US/Indian war known as ‘King Philip’s War’ as his people were being brutalized by the English settlers and his land taken away by the courts via the Latin: ‘vacuum domicilium’ which translates in English to ‘the land is vacant, the land is unoccupied.’ Because the Wampanoag, as most Native American tribes, were nomadic by nature, it was deemed that their land was not owned by them and hence could be taken ‘legally’ by the English King and legally claimed by the colonies.”

In an ironic circumstance my house is situated on land deemed “sacred” by the Wampanoag … a block-and-a-half away is Middleboro Town Hall: “It is the opinion of the Enfield Paranormal Society (EPS) that the Middleboro Town Hall contains paranormal activity in the form of several residual hauntings and at least one active, intelligent haunting”… EPS agreed with the Paranormal Institute of New England that conducted an investigation last March and also photographed an orb in the balcony of the Town Hall auditorium. In an eight-page report submitted to selectmen a picture of the “orb” is shown as a white circle in the balcony railing.

“Town Hall is reportedly built on the grounds of an Indian village and a former school, and its height attracts lightning, which provides energy. The building housed a jail and was the location of the famous ‘mob riot of Middleboro,’ in which a citizen was arrested and tried to be freed by angry supporters. Don Goodman was born in Hohenwald, Tennessee in the Swan Creek area where much of this story takes place
As a child Don’s family followed the call of the automobile and moved to Detroit, Michigan. At the Wyandotte Church of Christ young Don sat between his mother who sang sharp soprano and his father who sang flat bass, so singing in pitch for Don has always been the impossible dream.
He still holds the record for fifty-eight unexcused absences the first time he journeyed through his sophomore year at Taylor Center High School. He spent days in a neighbor’s tree writing short stories and poems.
Fueled by the faith of Miss Rosa Lou Wilson, a teacher who convinced him he could be a writer he hitchhiked to Nashville in 1961 with a handful of songs and a twelve string guitar that he still can’t tune or play. A couple of thousand songs later he’s still, “Livin’ the dream.”
In 1986 at the “Bull’s Creek Bait Shop” in Gallatin, Tennessee he married his beautiful wife Gayle. That same year Don, Mark Sherrill and James “Bo” Bohon composed the country music classic, “Ol’ Red.” Now that song has inspired him to write his first novel.
Don resides in Tennessee with his wife, son Jeremy, daughter Tiffany and granddaughter’s Alyssa and Charlee.

Moving to Hollywood in the ’60s, Jack dreamed of finding stability and structure. Instead he was lured into a depraved lifestyle…one that perverted his somewhat modest musical talent and led him to appear and record with ‘name acts’ and worse, to the writing of ‘hit songs.’

Kadashan’s Christian name is Bertrand J. Adams, Sr. He is of Tlingit decent from Yakutat, Alaska, a village in the northern panhandle of southeast Alaska. He was given his birth name, Kadashan, by his grandmother who named him after her father, John Kadashan, who was a leader from Wrangell, located on the southern end of the southeast panhandle. The elder Kadashan, as a young man and was one of the guides to world traveler and naturalist, John Muir. Kadashan means “red tide coming.”

Kadashan began writing when he was in college. He was encouraged to by his creative writing instructor, who recognized his passion for story-telling. Twenty years later his retired teacher visited him, read the stories he had stored in a drawer, and persuaded him to find a publisher. In time his rejection slips were thicker than his manuscripts. Eventually he was discovered by the publisher of the Alaska Native Magazine who began to feature his short stories and his water color paintings to illustrate his stories.

Shortly after, he began writing essays for the Tundra Times, a statewide Alaska Native newspaper. His commentaries dealt with Indian politics and tribal governments. Eventually he was under contract with the Juneau Empire and wrote a monthly column for the Capital city’s statewide newspaper. He tweaked these essays and self-published The Laws of Nature and Nature’s God in digital form

His latest, Kadashan Speaks–Legal Plunder clearly demonstrates the adverse signs of the times in America and how the federal system is using legal plunder to make illegal issues legal.

When Raven Cries is Kadashan’s first novel. It is out of print however Kadashan is working to have it reprinted. He is presently occupied with writing another novel and a non-fiction book about the history and culture of his Tlingit clan.

First, I started focusing on improving my personality and self-confidence. I simply didn’t know how to relate to anyone, hold a conversation, or develop relationships with people.

The only way to transform myself socially would be to face my biggest fears around meeting people. I ended up spending years immersing myself in different social environments developing my social skills and confidence.

I love to read – over the years I’ve consumed MANY books on anything that could improve the quality of my life, on topics such as: self-help, biographies, business, marketing, psychology, health, fitness, spirituality, etc… I love to learn, I believe the best investment you can make is in yourself.

In these relationships, we can closely observe all of the signals that person is sending out, so we can try to identify what they are feeling.

Once we feel we can estimate what they are feeling, we can then adjust our behavior to be of help to them in their state. For example, if we sense that a friend is feeling stressed and overwhelmed, we can speak softly and slowly. We can offer to put aside what we are working on and offer to help, or even just listen while our friends vents.

Dr. Cremone shows us how to apply these skills to our extended family members, which are inherently more difficult because these relatives we don’t interact with as often as our immediate family members. By focusing specifically on their behaviors, we can figure out how best to respond to them in a way that builds the relationship.

Professional relationships are especially tricky, because we want to stay within the lines of professionalism. Agin, emotional intelligence comes to our rescue. Again, we want to focus on the clues our bosses and co-workers are giving us that help us to respond to them in the most helpful way possible. Dr. Cremone even helps us to practice our emotional intelligence in groups, and not just one-on-one.

Dr. Cremone has written an insightful book on emotional intelligence that is packed with exercises and mini “assignments” to help anyone develop a deeper sensibility of how to relate to just about anyone.
