BiographyI’ve always been drawn to the dark side of the human psyche, and devoured everything from Edgar Allan Poe to Shirley Jackson growing up. It is no surprise to me I turned out to be a writer of psychological suspense, often with threads of paranormal, mystery and romance.
I like to write about ordinary women who are at a difficult time in their lives, and are suddenly faced with an external evil force. Women who are stronger than they think they are. I didn’t think a whole lot about theme until I had written a couple of books, but I realized with the writing of my third novel ‘Chill Waters’ that my books generally have to do with betrayal and abandonment in some form, and learning to trust again. And more important, learning to trust oneself. Almost any good book will tell you something about the author herself. (Or himself.) You can’t avoid it. But first and foremost I want to give readers a roller-coaster ride, one that keeps them on the edge of that proverbial seats and resonates in the imagination long after the last page is read.
In addition to my critically aclaimed and award-winning novels, my articles and short stories have appeared in any many publications including The Toronto Star, Atlantic Advocate, Seek, Home Life Magazine, Mystery Scene. My short story Dark Reunion was anthologized in investigating Women, Published by Simon & Pierre.I’ve held workshops and given talks at various schools and libraries, including New Brunswick Community College, and the University of New Brunswick. I am also a tutor with Winghill School, a distance education school in Ottawa for aspiring writers.

I’ve been an aspiring indie author only since early 2014, and gain my inspirations from imaginative spiritual beliefs and life struggles. I’ve had a surprisingly interesting life, filled with death, incredible accomplishments, and a handful of un-explainable events. I also notice the more I mature however, the further society distances from me (which worries me I confess, because I’m only 25).
I truly believe that without creative writing classes (and/or advanced training) sculpting my literary style, I’ve allowed it to grow and evolve into its own unique entity. A unique writing style that grasps a certain type of rawness that otherwise might of been lost, and a natural style of “freedom” that I hope to never stray away from. The “same” freedom that I feel is missing in our day to day lives.
If I can revive “any” of the above mentioned freedom (even in the most minuscule of way), I will then have succeeded in my reasons for writing. The ripples will handle the rest, by adding a little extra wonder and imagination to the world, and hopefully a little inspiration to someone in need (of which we all could use a little more of!).
What’s unwritten is how big those ripples will be. . . . .

Being a middle child, I had to learn to observe others and act in a certain way in order to thrive in whatever environment I was in. I carried this trait into my adult years and now use it as a strength for the books I write.
In fact, my ability to observe has been mostly focused on people and situations. In particular, I’ve learned to model people that are successful. Also, I have looked at certain problems and negativity in my own life from the viewpoint of someone trying to solve a problem. Through the course of my trial and error experiences, mentors and my own research, I have developed a number of books that speak directly to where I’ve come from and where I’m going. My goal is that you take some positives out of each book and that it helps you in some way. I get no greater satisfaction than when someone I know tells me that one of my books helped them in some way. It’s really an unbelievable feeling and the main reason why I do what I do.

Willakaville is full of zany, crazy, and wacky science fiction adventures that occur in an otherwise small town. In each story, young children find themselves in bizarre predicaments with supernatural situations. There are fourteen stories in all that range from monsters to magic to time travel. It makes a great bedtime read for the little ones. However, it will be enjoyed at any age.
The stories are fast-paced and creative with intermittent silliness sprinkled along the way. Each account aims to teach a life lesson, whether it be on manners, self-esteem, censorship, prejudice or ownership.
