I personally believe I do my best writing when I write about what is currently going on around me—when I write about a season that I am currently in.
In this particular case, I knew I was in the midst of a season of learning to trust God in a BIG way. He was challenging and testing me, seeing what I wanted to do. Ultimately I had to make a decision. Fortunately, that decision was to follow God in whatever direction He pointed me in, even though it required a massive amount of trust.
We as Christians need to understand the importance of trust and all that it entails. This means learning both the requirements and ramifications of fully committing to God.
Sure, we love the idea of faith, but what do we really do when the going gets tough? When the finances stop flowing, our relationships are struggling, or our health isn’t perfect, what do we do? Do we trust God, or do we begin to back away and blame Him?
The truth is that it’s incredibly easy to trust the Lord when the waters are calm, when everything around us is going well. But the true test of our relationship with Him comes when the storm hits, when the waves crash down on us and everything is out of control. This is when it is the most crucial that we run to Him and trust that His plan is better than ours.
It is not easy. It will require you to become weak. However, that’s the beauty of Christ. For when I am weak, He is strong.

This was light hearted and fun to read, a very nice way to spend my lunch break.I didn’t use to like serial novels or short stories as I’m super impatient and if I like something I like to read the whole thing in one go. I’ve scribbled bits and pieces all my life, chiefly inspired by what I’m reading, which tends to be mainly science-fiction and fantasy, with a healthy sprinkling of romance and erotica thrown in.
I’m a huge believer in happily-ever-after, but tempered by real life, where happily-ever-after is possible, but takes work. My favorite kind of romance stories are ones that are somewhat believable; I like strong men and women who know what they want out of life, and are driven to get it.

In broad, it is about the loss of identity and how easy that makes it for people to be controlled and manipulated en mass. But, at heart, it is about love and the changes wrought by that most powerful emotion, whether we see those changes for what they are or not.
Aside from being the title, Superfacial is also the name given to the most popular cosmetic catalog through the dystopian Citadel. Via the ubiquitous ‘patch’ technology anyone can choose their ‘face for the day’ just as we would decide what to wear. The question is, what does that do to social interactions – when you can’t recognize anyone from one day to the next?
As Part I of a series, Superfacial starts from the perspective of the individual, before expanding to show the larger world in Parts II and beyond.
History moves in sharp jumps and long grinding processions, both at the same time. But if you look at the pivotal moments, it is surprising how many come down to a single person. He stayed just as he’d woken, eyes closed, reveling in somnolence and rising excitement as his patchwork fed him breakfast, internal synthesis re-balancing and replenishing nutrients and devolving waste toxins. The pure spirit of his favorite flavors and textures rolled over his tongue, pressed against his teeth and palate, tantalized his nose like culinary music.
As he stirred a soft sparkling began to dance in the outermost periphery of his vision, each tiny nova denoting a continuous stream from someone interesting.
The minuscule lights blazed as their popularity soared, then dwindled away like dying suns as attention waned.

Ron Shaw is an Atlanta, Georgia, native who currently resides in Gwinnett County, Georgia, with his wife and daughter. He attended Roosevelt High School in Atlanta and continued his education at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia for two years. Ron met his future wife in Atlanta after his second year at Mercer and transferred his junior year to Georgia State University.In 1973, with new responsibilities, he became an Atlanta Police Officer while attending college full time. Ron attained a BA degree in English Literature from Georgia State University in 1974. He retired from the Atlanta Police Department in 1996 after a very fulfilling and prolific career.
He is the author of the Cramped Quarters series, and his short story The Dead and the Dying will appear in Annie Acorn’s 2015 Spirited Tales.

By the time Marta Tandori reached fifth grade, she was an avid reader and writer with a stack of short stories collecting dust in a box under her bed but it wasn’t until she began studying acting in her early twenties at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York that Marta realized acting wasn’t really her passion – writing fiction was. What followed was years of writing workshops as well as correspondence courses in writing for children through the Institute of Children’s Literature in Connecticut. She credits the award winning author, Troon Harrison, as the instructor who helped her find her literary voice. Marta’s first work of middle-grade fiction, BEING SAM, NO MATTER WHAT was published in 2005, followed by EVERY WHICH WAY BUT KUKU! in 2006.
