    T. Jackson King (Tom) is a professional archaeologist and journalist. He writes hard science fiction, anthropological SciFi, dark fantasy/horror and contemporary fantasy/magic realism–but that didn’t happen until he was 38.

    Before then, college years spent in Paris and in Tokyo led Tom into antiwar activism, hanging out with some Japanese hippies and learning how often governments lie to their citizens. The latter lesson led him and a college buddy to publish the Shinjuku Sutra English language underground tabloid in Japan in 1967. That was followed by helping shut down the University of Tennessee at Knoxville campus in 1968 and a bus trip to Washington D.C. for the Second March on Washington where thousands demanded an end to the Vietnam War.

    Temporary sanity returned when Tom worked in a radiocarbon lab at UC Riverside and earned an MA degree in Archaeology from UCLA. His interests in ancient history, ancient cultures and journalism got him several government agency jobs that paid the bills, led him to roam the raw landscape of the Western United States, and helped him and his wife Leslee raise three kids.

    A funny thing happened on the way to normality. By the time he was 38 and doing federal arky work in Colorado, Tom’s first novel STAR TRADERS was a stage play in his head that wouldn’t go away.     When Clark awoke, he was angry that Katie was screaming so loudly. When he went to the closet, the floor was covered in vomit, and Katie was rocking in the corner, crying and holding her arm to support her shoulder. He gave Katie a rag and bucket to clean the closet floor. It was Clark who then realized Katie couldn’t move her arm. Leda was oblivious of the injury until that point.

    David decided he wasn’t going to get anywhere with Leda. He knew she was hiding something. David ordered the x-rays and went back to explain to Katie that after she had more bone pictures taken and a good night’s sleep, she could then go home. David thought he saw tears welling in her deep blue eyes.

    Leda glared at David’s back as he left Katie’s room. Leda decided it was time to change Katie’s doctor again. Leda closed the door behind him and marched over to the hospital bed, where her injured daughter held tight to the doll, and snatched the toy from her grasp.

    “You don’t need that damn thing, you stupid brat! And I want to know what you told the doctor. You better not have lied about falling out of bed,” Leda hissed, tossing the doll into the trash bin.

    “I didn’t lie, momma. I did fall out of bed. I know it. You told me,” Katie cried.

    Here is a little about myself. I was born in Indiana but I was raised in Georgia. I began writing songs at the age of six. From there I couldn’t stop writing. I made my first song at the age seven in a recording studio that my father took me to. It was me and my younger brother. He notice that we had a passion for writing and he said to us, “ You guys want to do this for real?” and he said that because we were recording on a little boom box. I was thinking, hell yea I want to do this for real. From there as time passed. I moved to Atlanta where me and my cousin linked up and started making music on a pc. I was only twelve then and so was he. We put out our first song in the 9th grade and everybody went crazy over it. They loved it so much they encouraged us to write more songs.

    I went nuts as a youngster because we were very popular throughout to entire school we went to. As we grew older, we started doing shows and getting more involved with the industry. We put out a mixtape and gave it away for free around town. We were both twenty-one then. By the time I was twenty-four I had seven artists signed to my record label and I had over 10 albums ready to go. I even had I song on the radio and that was a great achievement for us both. We were growing in fame.

    Then it all came crashing down on me. I was addicted to the fame and for that I had to sit down for a min if you know what I mean. I’m just being real with you. I had to much going on and I wasn’t paying attention to what mattered in my life and I had to give two years of it for that. While I was in I had to figure out what was best for me and my family. I didn’t want to waste any time in there. I started reading books like crazy. That was the only way I could connect with the outside world. The books were playing movies in my head.

    One day I was reading a book by Terri Woods called Dutch. It was an urban novel. I looked up at my friend and said, “We could write a book like this.” And I was dead serious about it. I lived the life and I knew what was really going on in the streets. What shocked me the most was that he said, “Damn right we can.” He smiled and said, “ You write the first chapter and I’ll pick it up after that.” I was like cool and I put the book down and instantly began to write.

    I came up with some characters for the book and then I needed to put together a timeline. I just thought about my life and I put it in but in a fantasy type of way. I wanted to keep it realistic as possible. I thought that if I could write songs I could write a book and I really meant it. It took me two hours to right the first chapter of the book. It was called D.E. (Desert Eagle). I gave it to my friend and told him to read it so he could pick up the next chapter. He read it and he love it so much that he told me to keep writing. I thought he was going to help me but he said it was so good that he didn’t want to mess it up.

    I was like ok and I wrote the next chapter that night. Before you know it I had a full book. It took me a month to write it. He read it and said it was one of the best books he has ever read. I was like please and I didn’t believe him. The news spread that I had wrote a book and everybody wanted to see what I was about. I was cautious about lending the book out but what the hell. I gave it to the ones I knew from the streets and trusted. They read the book and I had got the same response. Suddenly, people kept knocking on my door for me to write more books and I did. All of my books got the same kind of reviews. Before you know it I had eleven books.

    When I came home I decided to put what I had to use. I got into e-book marketing and I wanted to learn all I could about it. I watched a ton of YouTube video’s on my trade. I just wanted to learn more and here I am.

    was born in Germany and was very lucky to be adopted by an American couple. They lived in Germany for several years, then moved to California and later Colorado. Her parents encouraged her to be creative and nurtured her “Lessie do it” attitude.
