Marsy Beron was born in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, Eastern Europe. She graduated from the University of Sofia, major in Bulgarian Philology, and worked as a teacher for a couple of years. However, she felt that teaching was not her vocation, so she moved to journalism. Marsy wrote for various newspapers and magazines for over 25 years, and in 2007, created her own journalistic website. Her focus has always been mostly on political and social issues. Her work allowed her to get intimately familiar with the “kitchen” of politics, as well as with the problems of orphanages, crisis centers for victims of domestic violence, homes for elderly and sick people.In her career as a journalist, Marsy accumulated a wealth of knowledge about local affairs, geo-political issues and society as a whole. She realized that situations and people were rarely what they seemed – there have always been hidden mechanisms and agendas that have governed the lives of individuals and society in general. Her desire to understand the inner workings of society gradually led her to psychology. A special bond is formed in the hospital between Danny – a mischievous, curious and very bright ten-year-old who has lost a leg and an arm – as well as his mother – in a terrorist bombing – and Autumn, a young journalist sent to interview him before his tenth operation.
Autumn wants to publish Danny’s story because she believes he is a hero, but Danny says he isn’t a hero at all; he was simply sitting in a restaurant waiting for his food when the terrorist came in and blew herself up. During their conversation, Autumn tells Danny about her son and her life a a single mother. He misses his own mother, and harbors a suspicion that the journalist keeps coming to see him because she is interested in his newly widowed father.
Autumn thinks that Danny should have the tenth operation, which would basically be plastic surgery to remove the shrapnel from his face and minimize the scarring. He does not want to forget: he would rather have a scarred face that will always remind him of his mother and all that he lot. And it would also be a reminder of the reality of life in Israel, a reality in which innocent children pay the price. During the difficult days preceding the operation, still tormented by indecision and struggling against the pain, Danny undergoes a maturity process that will prepare him for his release from the hospital. He learns not to be jealous of his sister, who survived the bombing with only a few scratches. He learns not to be afraid of the Arab nurse who wants to give him an injection. He develops a new and different sense of humor and comes to realize that despite his grief and loss, life goes on and can be beautiful. He discovers that he can enjoy life if he only reaches out for it.

Written in diary form, this is the story of one such venture; of one book’s long journey from its inception in the author’s mind to its place on the nation’s book shop shelves. Recording personal, social and topical events too, during the period 1995 to 2010, these diaries can be read as an instructive self-publishing guide by other writers or purely as a fascinating insight into the day to day life of a contemporary English writer.

I was born and educated in England and began writing after moving to Spain in 1989. “Vapour Trails in the Blue” is set in “Tolmuner” on the Costa del Sol, which is not unlike Nerja, where I lived for ten years before moving along the coast to La Herradura. Nerja was a much smaller town when I first went there and all the foreign residents, including some colourful, below-retirement-age characters living there at the time, all knew each other, although any resemblance to these last mentioned and the characters in my novel is purely coincidental, as is any perceived resemblance of Nerja to “Tolmuner”!Although in my youth I was influenced by the “beat” writers, like Burroughs and Kerouac, the main formative influence on me, certainly regarding my style, derived from mid 20th century English writers, like Aldous Huxley, Cyril Connolly, Waugh, Orwell, Graham Greene, and also Malcolm Lowry, and American writers like Scott Fitzgerald and contemporary American writers of the time, like Gore Vidal, Norman Mailer, Joseph Heller and Philip Roth. More recent fiction I have read and enjoyed include “Birdsong,” by Sebastian Faulks, “One Day ” by David Nicholls and “The Corrections,” by Jonathan Franzen. I like to think of my work as “literary fiction” and hope it might bear some comparison with the work of some of these writers. I also enjoy biography and diaries, and as a diarist myself I have published a volume of diaries kept during the writing of “Vapour Trails in the Blue.”
Set in the Nineteen-nineties and ending just after the turn of the millennium (at a time when I was younger and when living abroad perhaps still seemed like more of an adventure than now), the climax of “Vapour Trails in the Blue” takes place at the Pamplona “running of the bulls” San Firmin fiesta and there is an epilogue set in America. Although “literary fiction,” the novel has some pretty graphic sexual episodes in it, and with murder and mystery in it too I would be quite happy for it to also be described as a “sizzling summer read,” but like Fitzgerald’s “Tender is the Night,” “Vapour Trails in the Blue” is really a romantic story which I hope you are going to enjoy reading.

As a kid I consumed books and comics by the truckloads, reading anything from fantasy to westerns to science fiction. I wanted to stay in that dream state so I began making up my own stories, writing my first short story at 12. I also started drawing my own comics–little stick figures with dialogue balloons that later evolved into musclebound warriors and scantly clad vixens. I gave them battle axes and broadswords and unleashed them onto the world. A silent chaos ensued followed by crickets chirping and nothing much else, but boy, did I entertain myself. Alas, life kept interfering and I allowed it, and so nothing came from my artistic endeavors.After graduating high school I served a year in the military where I learned how to dig trenches, eat quickly, and miss girls. I travelled to Israel and lived on a Kibbutz for eight months, working in avocado fields and drinking cheap vodka. I sold pots and pans and educational toys in Africa for a while and almost got shot in Zimbabwe. I did a brief stint as a cartoonist somewhere and an even briefer stint as reporter somewhere else. Somehow, and maybe by accident, I ended up in law school and became a lawyer. I did that for almost a decade.
These days I’m back to writing stories. A calling I ignored for far too long. I now live in New Zealand, and with a wife and kids, and a dog, I’ll be staying put for the foreseeable future.

I have a small dick and references here and there suggest that size matters. If you think about it, it probably should. Maybe to some girls it does and to others it doesn’t. But I wouldn’t know a fuck about it because if men are from Mars and women from Venus, I have never ever been near Venus.
It is not that I don’t like girls. In fact I am crazy about them. It’s just that I am not good with girls. I am twenty nine and when I come across titles of films like ‘Forty Years Old Virgin’ and ‘Never Been Kissed’, I don’t watch them for fear that their plot will remind me of my own story.I have an engineering degree but I don’t know a fuck about any subject that I was taught in college. So I couldn’t clear interviews when companies came to recruit in my college. And even later, I fared no better. It is because I suck so much at engineering that during interviews I implode due to suction.
As of now, I don’t earn enough to support myself. 29 and living with my family! It has been more than four years since I completed my graduation and nothing has gone according to plan.
If anyone asked me in my teens what were the two things I wanted most when I grew up, I would have said independence and a girl I could call mine. Till now I have failed miserably on both counts. On top of that I suffer from psychosis, a disease, which given an option, I would trade with most others.Before you decide you don’t want to read anything written by a loser, consider this. How can a person who hasn’t faced, or is facing, shit in life, give you tips on how to be happy despite your problems. In fact, the deeper in shit one is, the better advice one will give you because one has figured out a way to be happy while being in deep shit.
I decided to write this thing now, and not later when I am in a better situation (although that would have enhanced the chances of this book being a hit, as people are attracted to success), because, as of today, I know exactly what needs to be done to stay happy in adversity.
I am not a psychologist or a spiritual teacher (I think you would have guessed that by my choice of words). I have never ever read a book on happiness. But I am a guy who became a very negative person due to attacks of psychosis and certain other events in my life. I know how your life is screwed when your brain is full of motherfucking negative thoughts. I have been there. More importantly, I figured out a way to overcome all the negativity and come out of that pathetic state of mind to become a happy person again. While doing so, I believe I decoded happiness. My situation is nearly the same but I deal with it in a much better way.
Long story, cut short: I am happy and I know it and I really want to show why.
