Joey started writing his first novel at the age of 21 in whatever time he could spare between full-time study at University and full-time work in the hospitality sector. However, the lure of travel soon overtook his creative desires, at least for a time, and although he did graduate university, he never finished his first novel.After three years spent travelling all over the world, he returned home, started a publishing company and again, in whatever time he had leftover, began formulating ideas for a new personal project: an epic, contemporary fantasy that would eventually become The Frailty of Perception; Book 1 of The Asher Bloom Chronicles.

But he does like to take time out to enjoy a few of the simple pleasures in life. The first and foremost being a glass of single-malt scotch, or if none can be found, a delicious craft beer. Though if you do encounter him in your travels it’ll most likely be on a plane to somewhere remote, conversing with fellow travelers in a local bar, on a dive boat amidst the deep blue sea, or atop a mountain of fresh powder with a snowboard underfoot. However, he is never happier than when he is beside a warm fire, or a remote beach, with a good book in hand.

“Gomorrah’s Libertine – Poems and Tales” is my first book in hopefully a long line, a labour of love, it is an intimate expression of the most honest recesses of the Psyche as I see it in regards to modernity and the problems prevalent within the currant cultural narrative.

About Right-Hearted: Finding What’s Right With a Wrong-Sided Heart:Right-Hearted: Finding What’s Right With A Wrong Sided Heart, is a short memoir about my life-threatening heart conditions and an unforgettable girl. I was born with a broken heart. Literally. My heart is on the right side instead of the left. I was also born with 6 other random congenital heart defects, which have demanded that I undergo dangerous open-heart surgeries since my birth 16 years ago. After my last operation 3 years ago, at barely 14, I was sent away to live so that I would not kill myself. I spent 2 years learning to accept my heart conditions and learning to appreciate my beating heart. The blurry ambulance rides, countless surgeries, metal machines and two years in a Montana therapy school have all contributed to the unique teenager I am today.
