I grew up in the Western Suburbs of Sydney in the 50’s and 60’s.My parents are originally from the Newcastle-Under-Lyme area of England and came to Australia in 1952 as £10 poms. They came under a migration scheme to help Australia with workers.
My father was a Painter and Decorator and I am the eldest of five children.
I met my husband, Robert, in 1973 and we married in March 1974; we were both 18 years old. We have two wonderful sons, gorgeous daughters-in-law and five incredible grandchildren. We have been extremely blessed.
When I retired 4 years ago I decided it was time to get the stories out of my head and onto paper. From there I just hoped my stories were interesting and well written enough to attract readers.
It is difficult being a new author now that anyone can publish a book. I can understand readers’ reticence to read Indie authors but hopefully they will give people like me a chance. I find as an avid reader, you can be pleasantly surprised most of the time. I can’t imagine sticking to just one or two authors and just because an author has a publisher doesn’t make them good. I have certainly read some terrible books which have been published by some of the largest companies.

WHO AM I?
You could say I’m nobody. I have no degree. I’m not a licensed professional. I’m not a doctor—I don’t even play one on TV.
What I do have is my experience. I’ve been through anxiety and depression. I’ve hit rock bottom, shattering so hard that I thought I could never be put back together. I lay there, wounded, for years, only to find a sense of motivation from within that I didn’t know existed—a resilience in my very being that wouldn’t allow me to give up without a fight. I patched my wounds, staggered to my feet, and stood tall for the world—and myself—to see. Then I took my first step towards freedom.
Overcoming depression isn’t something that happens overnight. It’s a journey. By showing you my journey, I want to provide you with a sense of hope. I want to equip you with the tools necessary to make your own journey, and guide you towards the first step.

Broad shoulders on a strong heavenly handsome guy, heaving bosoms on a bewitchingly beautiful gal. The typical romance reader expects all these.Regardless of what you think about formulas, this scenario sells. Some formulas just work well–for a certain group, at least–the niche market, as internet savvy and publicity people label it.
But we can’t all write like that.
I’m a realist in my writing, as well as my art. I don’t have as much imagination as many other writers–a handicap (or strength) that comes partly from my training and experience as a mental health program researcher/evaluator. I’m also a flâneuse, a female observer-wanderer. So, I watch, and observe. And listen. That’s where the meat of my writing comes from.
As an author of love stories, I tend not to rely on broad shoulders and heaving bosoms. Instead, I go into the protagonists’ thoughts and emotions, and how those show their growth. My novels deal with protagonists’ insecurities and disappointments, love/hate relationships with parents, characters who seem to behave out-of-character, and even life events not typically included in romantic fiction. Blood Money is the story of an FBI sting aimed at shutting down a global organization suspected of money laundering to terrorist groups. The target is the National Rare Blood Association.Totally unaware of the sting, Mark Matthews, small town
private investigator, accepts an assignment from an industrialist, Peter Thurston, to hack into the computer files of the NRBA to retrieve a disbursement file.Requiring help, Mark turns to Susan Harrigan, an ex-lover and (unknown to him) a covert FBI Special Agent. As a co-worker in 1998 on a Defense Department project known as “Hide and Seek”, Sue and Mark had a brief, but passionate, love affair. They successfully hack into the files.
John Portman, Director of Security for the NRBA, at first suspects Roland Phoebes, a computer center owner, as the hacker. As he digs deeper, suspicion switches to Susan Harrigan and the software company she operates as a front. When Portman meets with her she is uncooperative and evasive and becomes his main suspect. He is so determined to break her that he hires Dick Schaeffer, to abduct Susan, conduct an interrogation and do whatever else is required to get at the truth.
In the interim, Susan processes the hacked files and uncovers a record of over $50,000,000 sent illegally to organizations on the FBI/CIA suspect list. She sends the information to her boss, Special Agent in Charge of the Cleveland, Ohio FBI office, Dennis Peterson who forwards it to the Justice Department for the issuance of subpoenas.
The next day Susan is abducted by George and Karl, two of Dick Schaeffer’s thugs, and is taken to an abandoned warehouse. Portman shows up to question her, but she refuses to tell him anything. When George applies a unique pressure point torture, she lies and tells Portman that Roland Phoebes offered her money to hack the file, but claims not to know who is behind it. Portman doesn’t believe her and threatens to let Karl use acid to make her talk. Susan gives up Peter Thurston, hoping that Justice will issue the subpoenas before Portman can use the information.
Portman is satisfied with her answers, but Susan realizes that he has no intention of releasing her. As Portman prepares to leave, he receives a phone call from his assistant Mel Tarkington at NRBA headquarters in Denver, telling him that the FBI raided and shut down their operations. Portman, in a rage, shoots Susan and dumps her body in a closet.

When the FBI discovers Susan‘s abduction. Dennis Peterson visits Mark and recruits him as a Special Agent. They return to FBI offices in Cleveland to join the task force searching for Susan. Mark locates an abandoned warehouse where she might be held. Twenty agents converge on the building and find her in the storage room closet. Miraculously, Susan is alive, but just narrowly. She is operated on and recovers. She names Portman, Dick, George and Karl as her abductors.
Cleveland Police Chief, Walt Jacobsen, an ex-agent, picks up George and Karl. George gives up the location where John and Dick are holed up. They both are killed in a
shootout. Meanwhile, Mel Tarkington is determined to avenge Portman’s death and begins a trip across the country intent on killing Susan, but he is frustrated by her 24/7 protection.When Susan is finally released from the hospital, her love affair with Mark resumes, but eventually Mark must leave to attend FBI training at Quantico, Virginia. Her protection is curtailed and Susan returns to work. The first day she takes an early lunch and as she backs out of the parking spot, she is interrupted by her cell phone ringing. The caller is Mel Tarkington who has been stalking her for several months. He tells her that she is about to die. As she attempts to exit the car, a bomb goes off and Susan Harrigan is killed instantly.
Tarkington made his escape and is still at large.

Being a teenage girl is difficult. Being a teenage Werewolf is almost impossible. A few weeks ago I found out that I’m a Werewolf. Yup, that’s right. I tend to get furry around the full moon. Don’t believe me? Well, it only gets more fantastic from here.
You see, I’m bound by an ancient pact my ancestors made to serve with the Hounds of God. They’re like this mega Wolf pack who technically work for the Catholic Church. The Hounds have been fighting an age old battle against covens of Witches who want to claim dominion over the Earth for the Devil.
You heard me correctly. I mean the actual Devil, you know, Lucifer, the Father of Lies. Yup. That’s the one. You see, the Devil, is an actual being. Not some metaphor for evil. He is a fallen angel and his minions take many forms. The Hounds of God fight those minions. We are an ancient order dedicated to protecting humanity.
My father before me was a Hound. He and my mother died fighting this battle when I was about three years old. I keep a picture of them next to my bed.
I don’t remember that much about them, except for this recurring dream I have of my mom. Anyway, I was raised by my maternal grandmother, Nonna Rosa. Her son is my Uncle Vito. He and his family live with us too. Only Nonna knows the truth about me.
Hard to believe? You betcha. I didn’t really buy it either until last night when I got all furry and fangy and ripped the throat out of my high school librarian.
Scary, right? But they aren’t the only things out there. There’s much more that I have yet to learn.
This world is new to me. It is full of dark and dangerous things. And most of them seem to want me dead. I’m scared, I mean, I’m not crazy. But I have to survive. I just have to. Depression has definitely become more recognized in recent years in general society. But that doesn’t mean it’s widely accepted, understood, or properly dealt with. I believe that one of the best ways to improve this is through education, especially through hearing from people who are brave enough to share their stories. That is my intention with this book: to use my story to help you understand depression and learn how you can help yourself if you’re struggling.
In this book, I share my secrets and show you some of the darkest times of my life. It’s been hard to write about these times, but above all, I want you to know that you’re not alone. I got through my dark times, and with the right information and help, so can you.
It is not my objective to sugarcoat anything, nor to give you some “quick fix” solution. There is no quick fix for depression, and those who say there is obviously have never truly experienced it for themselves.
WHO AM I?
You could say I’m nobody. I have no degree. I’m not a licensed professional. I’m not a doctor—I don’t even play one on TV.
What I do have is my experience. I’ve been through anxiety and depression. I’ve hit rock bottom, shattering so hard that I thought I could never be put back together. I lay there, wounded, for years, only to find a sense of motivation from within that I didn’t know existed—a resilience in my very being that wouldn’t allow me to give up without a fight. I patched my wounds, staggered to my feet, and stood tall for the world—and myself—to see. Then I took my first step towards freedom.
Overcoming depression isn’t something that happens overnight. It’s a journey. By showing you my journey, I want to provide you with a sense of hope. I want to equip you with the tools necessary to make your own journey, and guide you towards the first step.
