Author Bio:
Kadashan is the Tlingit name of Bertrand Adams Sr. He was named after his great grandfather, John Kadashan. The name means “man the elder.” Kadashan grew up in the village of which he writes. He has written a novel about the village as well. When Raven Cries is a story about a young man who was educated in a Christian boarding school and returned home set against convincing his people that they are going to have to give up their traditional way of thinking to the western societies thoughts and customs.

Kadashan started writing when he was in college. He wrote about a dozen short stories and placed them in a file and never bothered about them until twenty years later when he was encouraged to try and publish them Several years of rejection slips thicker than his manuscript, his stories were accepted in the Alaska Native Magazine. The this same time he began writing about Native American politics and was featured in the Tundra Times, a statewide Native newspaper, and for six years he wrote a monthly column for the Juneau Empire. He now has a non-fiction book, THE LAW OF NATURE and NATURE’S GOD, which is in digital form on Amazon.

Kadashan is a retired commercial fisherman and charter boat captain. He lives in Yakutat with his wife. They have eight children and a lot of grandchildren.

Along the way the story focuses on the very human side of the vigilantes in contrast to the more brutal crime fighters they are. They are people with hopes and dreams, families, tragic histories, and the quirks that go with being individuals. Regulators are people behind masks with powers who want normal lives but feel an obligation to make use of their powers to do the right thing, and in the end we find that sometimes heroes do die!

I have lived in Nebraska for the past 13 years. Why? Its an adventure; I live in tornado alley and I have mastered the art of flying a kit in extreme weather. I loved writing as far back as jr. high school but it was slow go until I left my home in Silver City, New Mexico for a tiny village of 25 people called Touhy here in Nebraska. The people here were so friendly and the farmland was so beautiful I couldn’t help myself. This is a great place to be if you need inspiration and being here I have met all the right people and am finally a published offer, even thought it is pretty late in my life. I have had a strong love of the world of comic books since I was 11 and it is that world where I found my success as a writer.

I attended Western New Mexico University after my early attempts to publish something I wrote turn to years of frustration. I didn’t really intend to earn a degree, choosing instead to pursue courses that provide a large number of writing opportunities for the purpose of exploring various styles of writing while working on problems with mechanics of the art. I enjoyed college so much, however, that it turned into a degree anyway.

King Conceitus, ruler of the kingdom of Sikofant, is extremely fond of clothes and spends all his time dressing up in new clothes instead of looking after his people. He also spends all his money buying new clothes because he doesn’t wear the same clothes more than once.

Two clever rascals called Tallslick and Shortslick pretend they can weave a magic cloth that can be seen only by the wise and cannot be seen by fools. King Conceitus is fooled by them and tells them to make new clothes for him for his birthday.

Tallslick and Shortslick pretend to make the garments, using gold thread and silk. Everyone including the king’s ministers are fooled because no one is willing to admit that they can’t see the cloth.

The rest of the story describes what happens when King Conceitus wears the “magic clothes” during his birthday procession.

My name is Orna taub.I was born in Israel in1957.
My big interesting in China and the Chinese language started after I graduated from Chinese medicine school in Israel
And complemented my study in another school of Chinese medicine to study two years Chinese herbs.
One of my instructors was a native Chinese doctor who came from chengdu and only spoke Chinese.
The meeting with him evoked in me a sudden and great attraction to China and a big passion to learn Chinese.
I started to learn chinese by myself using textbooks.
Gradually friendly relationships started to develop between me and my Chinese instructor ,and since he could only speak Chinese, I had no other choice but to break my teeth to speak Chinese with him. As I progressed in Chinese I started to help him in his everyday life communication and after a while also joined him to his patients homes to serve as a translator. Eventually I became his translator in his classes too.In the following years I continued to study by myself .After a few years I made my first trip to China and stayed in Chengdu (Sichuan province) for three months attending the Normal University and taking classes in Chinese language with other foreign students. During that time I spoke only Chinese and made great progress in my language studies.
Since I came back to Israel and on I use every possible way to study Chinese and deepen my knowledge in the language.

In the recent years I have taken one-on-one lessons using skype studying colloquial Chinese in advanced level with a native Chinese teacher from Beijing ,practice speaking with another teacher in chengdu and directly contact with Chinese native speakers friends by speaking and writing.Recently I graduated from the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) after 8 months of studying Chinese translation (1-1 lesson by skype), and got a certificate.
