Here’s the bottom line… I love to laugh, I love to drink and I love to eat.

I also love writing.

As a child I had stories going through my head. It took me a long time to realise I should write them down, therefore clearing my mind. Little did I know another one would pop up!

I wanted to be painter since I was a child. I was told, while being assessed at the end of my art foundation, I should go into drama or be a stand-up comedian. I’m short, so even if I did ‘stand up’ it’d be hard to see me and I realise that was their way of telling me I was rubbish at art.

I’ve worked in various jobs and I have been extremely lucky to do what I wanted to do… though I have a habit of changing my mind every so often.

If you want something, go for it. The only thing holding you back is you. You only have one life so don’t say ‘if only’ say ‘well at least I tried’.

Writing, like anything creative, is an exposure. Not everyone likes what you write, what you say or what you think… but some people do. That’s my focus. On the people who like what you write… what I write.

The stories are written in British English… and translates perfectly for all!

This is the 1st book in my ‘Whimsy Wood’ children’s series. There are 35 books in the series and these are divided into 5 sets each containing 7 books. Each book is written for a specific month in the calendar, so the flora and fauna of Whimsy Wood change accordingly as you read through the series. Finally there is a proverb hidden within each book for the reader to find, giving the story a real meaning.

Book 1, ‘Posie Pixie And The Copper Kettle’, finds Posie searching for a new home for the autumn in Whimsy Wood. Her summer home was a poppy in a nearby meadow, but it’s lost its petals with autumn approaching. During her search, Posie meets a travelling lady called Rosa-May and her horse Henry. Henry has become lame in the wood and Posie finds herself helping these two charming characters.

In return for Posie’s kindness, Rosa-May gives her one of her copper kettles which Posie decides to use as her new autumn home. The proverb here is ‘One good turn always deserves another’.

I am actually a small animal Vet who started writing for children somewhat by accident! I gained my Veterinary Medicine degree at Bristol University, UK in 1999 and worked in practice for 10 years. At that point I had our second daughter and soon after, I decided to take a career break.

Book 1, ‘Posie Pixie And The Copper Kettle’, was published on July the 8th 2013. Book 2, ‘Posie Pixie And The Lost Matchbox’ was published on November the 2nd 2013. Book 3, ‘Posie Pixie And The Torn Tunic’, was published on February the 8th 2014 and book 4, ‘Posie Pixie And The Fireworks Party’, was published on May the 24th 2014. Book 5, ‘Posie Pixie And The Christmas Tree’, will be released October 2014.

To date I have written up to book 14 in my 35-book Whimsy Wood series and up to book 7 is edited, which is handy since our newest addition, a baby son, has just turned 1 whole year old!! I am now based at home in Wiltshire with my husband, 2 daughters, 1 son, 2 dogs, 2 cats and “a partridge in a pear tree”!
