J.R. Luxor is a mystery within an enigma, even if by design. Luxor was apparently educated and trained as a psychologist and practiced counseling in Northern California, the setting of some of the stories and books. But in every article mentioning the author, any reference to gender is left indefinite. There has never been a “his, her, he or she” to make it clear and Luxor posts no photos. Some articles have been posted on-line about clues in the stories and books as to Luxor’s gender. When describing the partner performing cunnilingus, Luxor specifically mentions females doing it as well as males, and even waxes philosophical on how the genders might approach it differently, and how the receiver must communicate differently with a male or a female lover. It’s clear that J.R. Luxor purposely cultivates the enigma, but it’s still fun to speculate!

I began writing my first novel when I was thirteen, and I have dreamed of my life as a writer ever since. I dreamt of a house on a bluff overlooking the ocean with large windows and an airy solarium with comfy leather sofas on which I would lounge and write. For breaks, I would walk my dogs and small child to the nearby beach.
At some point, I decided to take a more pragmatic approach to life and began teaching high school English. These days, I do live on a bluff, but I overlook the cornfields in the rural Midwest. And I do go for walks with my child, but I have developed an allergy to dogs that typically leave me battling an asthma attack. And for 40% of the year, it’s too cold in the Midwest for leather couches to be comfortable and for solariums to thrive.
Nevertheless, after thirteen years, I am now able to do what I’ve always loved by taking advantage of the self-publishing revolution. And I still have dreams. Currently, for example, I dream of growing a lavish vegetable garden on our bluff. Unfortunately, dreaming about it doesn’t make my thumb any greener. In the meantime, I take great satisfaction in the fact that the survival of my protagonists is dependent only on my imagination rather than my ability to avoid over-watering them.

William Diehl (December 4, 1924 – November 24, 2006) was an American novelist and photojournalist.
Diehl was fifty years old and already a successful photographer and journalist when he decided to begin a writing career. His first novel, Sharky’s Machine, was made into a movie of the same name directed by and starring Burt Reynolds. Diehl saw the movie shot on location in and around his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Its cast included Vittorio Gassman, Brian Keith, Charles Durning, Earl Holliman, Rachel Ward, Bernie Casey, Henry Silva, and Richard Libertini. It has been the most successful box-office release of a film directed by Reynolds.
Following the success of Sharky’s Machine, Diehl relocated to St. Simons Island, Georgia in the early 1980s where he lived for the next 15 years before going back to the Atlanta area. While living on St. Simons, he completed eight more novels, including Primal Fear, which also became a movie by the same name starring Richard Gere and Edward Norton.
Diehl died at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta on November 24, 2006, of an aortic aneurism. He was a resident of Woodstock, Georgia at the time of his death and was working on his tenth novel. He had two children, a boy and a girl from whom he was estranged.

That first sale, a young adult novel published by Independence Press, was more than thirty years and a good many books ago and I have loved every day since.

I am dyslexic and wanted to prove to myself that I could make this dream a reality by publishing this book. The foundations of the story have been with me since the age of 14, (I am now 37). I have made many attempts, over the years, to write a story based on this universe, but something kept stopping me, my low self-esteem.

On a hot sunny day, four years ago, I was sitting in the park desperately wanting to get these characters out of my head, so I wrote the outline of the story…. an outline which never came to be. I think most authors will agree with me, when you write, you are living their life, the adventure of the characters, you are clueless as to what is going to happen just as much as the characters themselves. Writing is just like the movie, ‘The Never Ending Story’.

Growing up I had a great love of science fiction. My first real passion came from ‘Voltron’, which aired on the Childrens Channel (this was when cable TV was new, uncharted territory in the UK), and the Japanese puppetry TV show ‘Starfleet’, which aired on Saturday morning on ITV.

I have put a lot of research into ‘THE NEXT STEP’, the technology of tomorrow is based on how futurist foresee the future and NASA work on propulsion. I have loosely based ‘THE NEXT STEP’ on Dr Ronald Mallett works in sending/receiving sub-atomic particles, using his time machine which he is famously working on. A number of historical events in are based on real history or historical conspiracy. There is a lot of reality in this novella however, it is wrapped around fiction.

I believe ‘THE NEXT STEP’ is a high quality, emotional story and I’m sure you will agree.

His grandfather and father having served in the first and second world wars respectively, both in the army, author and screenwriter Brian L. Porter broke with family tradition to serve with the RAF during the years of the Cold War.

Darren Lewis was born in Cardiff in 1975 and now lives with his family in Norfolk. Although an avid reader of many genres it wasn’t until his daughter, Ellie aged 6, asked for a story of her own that inspired him to put pen to paper.
“Ellie and I would like to make up bedtime stories, mainly about a kangaroo that travelled the world and have adventures.”
These bedtime stories would lead to a first book in the trilogy. ‘Ellie and the Rabbits’ in which our young heroine meets a group of talking rabbits.
“My main goals were to induce a sense of wonder for my daughter, a sense of purpose and the importance of helping others.”
A short book of poems for children followed and the sequel ‘Ellie and the Dragon’ was published in August and the trilogy was completed and published in December 2013 in ‘Ellie and the Battle.’
The independent publishers Creativia added the books into their portfolio in early 2014 and published then as an omnibus edition entitled The Seren Trilogy.
The next book in a new set of Ellie’s adventures will follow soon with the title Vengeance of Shadows.
When not writing Darren can be found walking the coastlines of Norfolk or painting and crafting with a particular fondness for steampunk, a subject he hopes to write about soon.
