Hi! My name is Junia Wonders.I have dreamed of telling stories since I was a child. I remember telling a story about a family of nine, a father, a mother and their seven children (all below ten), traversing the solitary desert on foot with a lone camel, which the children sometimes rode, all seven of them, when their feet got too tired. How did they all fit on one camel you might ask? A rolled mat was placed on top of the camel’s hump. Balancing precariously, three children sat on each side of the mat and the seventh (the heaviest one) sat in the middle.
Every night, they would stop somewhere, preferably near an oasis or a sheltered spot to camp and rest their weary legs. The children would gaze at the night sky and make up stories about the stars. I was five when I first thought of this story. But I never wrote it down. Instead, I doodled and told my story while drawing the characters. I didn’t have an audience back then, so I simply told the story to myself, every night before the lights went out and it was time for bed. It was one of the happiest times of my life, imagining this family travelling endlessly under a picture perfect desert sky.
One day, I woke up and realised I had finally obtained a degree from a respectable university, but it had nothing to do with creative writing. It was for the best, I thought, as I needed to let go of my fancy imaginings (silly made up stories!) and become a responsible adult, which meant I had to get a job, get my own apartment, earn my own keep so to speak. And that’s what I did for the next decade and a half. But a voice inside me kept pestering me to sit down and write those stories. I don’t know about you but when you start hearing a persistent voice inside you telling you to write a story, you’d better sit down and write that story.
Having ignored that voice for so long, I finally listened to it. I sat down and wrote. And for the first time in my entire life since I came up with the story of the family traversing the desert on a lone camel, I felt so alive. Like a heavy black shroud was lifted from me, leaving me ten times lighter and freer. Is this what it feels like to finally follow your rainbow? To chase your dream? Because it definitely feels like the most wonderful feeling in the world. None of the other career paths (and believe me, I’ve tried quite a few) I’ve pursued come close to making me feel this happy, this fulfilled.
This, in a nutshell, is my journey as to how I mustered the courage to finally write and listen to that persistent voice and more importantly, to share my stories with you.

My early work (eight-years-old) would be called fan fiction today. I began by writing my version of Bobbsey Twins novels on legal pads that my dad brought home from the office. As an only child – in the days before children became little electronic receivers – there was often not much to do other than seek amusement in my own head.Childhood fantasies involved being the only girl (for some odd reason) at a ranch for wayward boys. Yes. I do realize this sounds vaguely familiar. Those fantasies were supported by real life events because the boys included me in the afternoon neighborhood games whether it was cowboy/Indians or G.I. Joe.
When I left the Bobbsey Twins behind I didn’t write again until I was married with children and in my mid-twenties. I completed a paranormal romance and gave it to my spouse to read. After hearing his criticisms I didn’t write again for decades. At the time I didn’t understand that he’s the absolute farthest thing from my audience.
It turned out to be a blessing because during that time that I didn’t write, I lived an extremely full life. I traveled a lot, raised a family, got an education (I have an M.A. in Psychology.) and explored my compulsion to be a spiritual seeker. The fantasies were a constant companion throughout. The faces and names of the characters changed as I matured, but they remained a source of comfort. They helped me through hell-raising teenagers and three near-death scares.
By the time I started writing again, I had something to say.
I write cross-genre with uniquely fresh perspectives on paranormal creatures, characters, and themes. Add a dash of scifi and a flourish of fantasy to enough humor to make you laugh out loud and enough steam to make you squirm in your chair. My heroines are independent femmes with flaws and minds of their own whether they are aliens, witches, demonologists, psychics, or past life therapists. My heroes are hot and hunky, but they also have brains, character, and good manners – usually – whether they be elves, demons, berserkers, werewolves, or vampires.
My first book, My Familiar Stranger, was nominated for Best Paranormal Romance of 2012 by both Reviewers’ Choice and Readers’ Choice Awards. All of my books have opened on the Amazon Best Sellers list and earned Night Owl Reviews TOP PICK awards.

Fantasy, including the idea that cows might think, talk, and are proper heroines–perhaps encourages us to wonder about other creatures, people, and dimensions of thought that “common sense” keeps us from hearing and seeing. Possibly, we may even discover that there are cows within ourselves waiting to speak and be heroic. Our capacity to hear things that are, in our “common sense” world, unheard and unheard of, is one of the degrees of freedom we can preserve for ourselves and offer to others. And, for children–kids of all ages–these degrees of freedom are precious and worth nurturing. That is why I write.

Amnon Jackont was born in Israel in 1948 and grew up in Ramat Gan. He was born to a bourgeois family that immigrated to Israel after WWII from Belgium and received a European education which laid emphasize on good manners. Yet, he soon realized that a well behaved boy cannot survive among children whose parents had come from different countries and preferred to settle accounts by fists rather than politeness.Since he was robust and physically strong, he had no problem dealing with belligerent boys.Yet apprehensive least he should harm other kids, he learned how to practice self-control.In 1966 he was drafted to the IDF and participated in operations which are still kept in the dark. He was first wounded when the truck he rode hit a mine; he luckily survived and woke up in the hospital with a broken back. Four years later he was wounded again, while in service in a hostile foreign country, where he was imprisoned for several months before being released. His military experiences continually provide him with materials for his books.
After his service, Jackont became involved in a variety of business activities (insurance, securities and real estate) for over two decades. In 1997 he decided on a change of career and turned to the academic world. He completed his BA in the Department of History at Tel Aviv University in three years and graduated with honors. He then spent four more years writing a PhD dissertation. After the completion of his thesis, he began teaching prose-writing in a unique method, which he had developed, based on the dismantling and reassembling of theindividual’s life experiences.
He has written eight novels, a collection of short stories, a financial-documentary book, and the biography of one of the heads of Mossad. All of his books became best sellers in Israel and some were translated into several languages including Chinese and Japanese. He is also the editor of some 200 books of various genres: from thrillers, to history and philosophy.
When asked which of his occupations he liked in particular, Jackont answers, “The combination between all of them…”

‘Murder She Wrote’ is my favourite TV show. I have watched all 12 series a few times, I will leave it a (short) while before I watch them again. After doing some research I discovered that you can stay at ‘Jessica’s House’ as it is now a bed and breakfast home – there’s something for my bucket list.
I also love Laurel and Hardy and have done since I first saw them on television when I was very young. I now have the box set of their work, plus a few ornaments, a cup,a T shirt, some magazines…
I do have the box set of Poirot too. Luckily for me, ‘Murder She Wrote’ is constantly airing on TV.
In between reading and watching shows I like writing my own murder mysteries and paranormal mysteries.
