   Nigel Cooper was born in England, UK. He grew up in the Lake District, but later moved down south to London.

   Nigel wouldn’t really want to work for any company that would employ him, he has been self-employed for most of his working life as: photographer, classical pianist, private detective, video producer, magazine founder/editor, rant columnist and journalist.

   In his early years Nigel also had several irrelevant and inconsequential jobs including working as stretch limo driver and a one-man operator/bus driver for London Transport. He still has his PSV (Public Service Vehicle) licence, badge and pass to prove it.

   While in the employment of another company he actually got sacked for being too efficient at what he did; piece-work at a belt factory in Queens Crescent, North London. It upset the other factory workers that he was earning three times more money than they were. The boss (sad as it made him) had to let Nigel go due to the unrest and tension on the factory floor.

   Of the menial jobs where Nigel was employed, they never lasted more than nine months; at least his boredom threshold didn’t. Working as a commis chef, bus driver and salesman, all ended after exactly nine months. The fact that these jobs lasted the term of a pregnancy is purely coincidental.

   His shortest employment lasted only three hours; his personal best record. This was during his first ever job as an apprentice barber in Swiss Cottage, North London. Three hours of sweeping up hair, refilling shampoo bottles and cleaning sinks was all he could take; he left at lunchtime.

   Later, he got serious and studied screenwriting in London, where he learned the art and craft of creative writing for film and television. In 2004 he became the founder/editor of a specialist UK-based television/broadcast video production magazine. Although it was hugely successful, he sold the magazine in November 2011 to become a full-time author of fiction.

   Nigel has had many years’ experience as a writer of technical articles, tutorials, reviews, news stories and journalism, not only for his own magazine, but also for many other well known publications, magazines and newspapers. It was during these years that he found his voice.

   In 2011, Nigel had an overwhelming desire to move into creative fiction writing, so he set about researching his debut novel in the dark romance vampire genre. This desire had been smouldering inside him for a few years. Having seen various classic vampire movies in the past, he decided to write a vampire story that he himself would want to read.

   After extensive research and planning Nigel completed his debut novel, Email From A Vampire, which was published in July 2012.

   After more research and writing during 2013 he completed his second novel, Sophia; a different genre altogether. Sophia was published in January 2014.

    The campaign was launched on 25th February, 2012. The film (originally titled Aashmani Jawaharat aka Diamonds in the Sky) was supposed to be released in May, 2013, but, it did not. Three times release date was announced and postponed. Till date the film has not released. What’s going on?

    This book is the second volume of the series that reveals the reality that DIY filmmakers face in India, no matter how innovative or creative they are or no matter how good their film is.

    Author Bio:
    Anamitra Roy was born in 1988 in Bandel, West Bengal, India to an average Bengali family. His mother is a teacher and father is a theater-activist. He went to Hooghly Collegiate School where he received his earlier education with a special focus on science subjects. By the end of schools, his interests were shifted to journalism. He was already working as a journalist for a district-based newspaper, which made him choose media to be the subject of his further education. In 2008, Roy became a graduate of Media Studies and he carried on with academics till obtaining his master degree in Film Studies from Jadavpur University in 2010.

    While Roy was studying the media, media also started studying him. In December 2006, Roy’s name came into the news for the first time as a teenage cultural activist. He was arrested from one of the biggest cultural hubs (Ravindra Sadan Complex) in Kolkata during the state sponsored poetry festival while leading a poster campaign in protest against the government’s policies on acquisition of agricultural land and police atrocities on farmers. This incident caused births of several cultural activists’ consolidations which Roy never became a part of. In March of 2007, he published an alternative literary bulletin named “Byas” [Diameter: rough translation, also Bengali pronounciation of 'Vyasa', the creator of the Indian epic "Mahabharata"] which featured a special supplement on “anti-establishment in Bengali literature”. By February 2008, three different issues of “Byas” had already been published when Roy came up with his collection of poems named “Shabdoprokriyakoron” [Word-Conjuring]. The format of this hand-written and hand-illustrated (by Sripana) book is still a benchmark of alternative publication and it is widely followed by new and upcoming indie authors and alternative magazines in Bengal. After this, Roy went on to publish two other literary bulletins, namely “Randhanshala” [The Caboose: rough translation] in 2009 and “Big Bango” [The Big Satire: rough translation] in 2010.

    Roy started shooting his first independent short film in 2007 along with Sriparna (his wife). It was a docu-fiction around the life and works of Subimal Mishra, the maverick and audacious anti-establishment author from Bengal. In December 2008, ‘Little Fish Eat Big Fish’, the first no-budget filmmakers’ collaborative out of India, was born. This is the forum that took DIY filmmaking practice in India to a whole new level. For the first time in the country, direct to DVD release of indie films took place successfully without any aid from corporate entities or the mainstream film industry in 2010 under the name of ‘Five No-Budget Films’. Roy contributed to this process by editing all the five films and making his own short named “Jean-Luc Godard Had No Script” which gained a lot of popularity in the following years. It was made for less than USD 10 $. The process continued for the next two years and that’s how ‘Season Two: No Budget Film’ and ‘No Budget Films: 3rd Compilation’ (2012) came into existence. ‘Smriti… Mrito Janopaud aka Memories… of a Dead Township ‘ happens to be Roy’s latest short film that was a part of the 2012 compilation. It was made for zero bucks literally. No money was involved in the production of the film. Also, this is the only film made under the banner of LFEBF that crossed national boundary (as film festival submission was against the forum’s ideological standpoint) and became part of other indie filmmakers’ film exhibition program in the US.

    2012 was the year when the campaign for ‘The 0ne Rupee Film Project’ was launched. The film is actually titled ‘Aashmani Jawaharat aka Diamonds in the Sky’. Since its launch, the project went on to create waves across India. Never was a marginal film so much heard, read or shared about. It became a part of ‘The Goa Project’ in March, 2013, ‘Shortbusters, Bangalore’ in November, 2013 and the ‘Indiearth Xchange’ in December, 2013. It was featured in the ’1st Kolikata International Film Festival’ that took place in September, 2013. Except these, the film has been a part of the Mumbai Film Mart at the Mumbai International Film Festival, 2013 and also Film Bazaar at International Film Festival of India, Goa, 2013. But the market always has its own rules and the final thing to say. The film is stuck in the last stage of post production due to lack of funds since October, 2013. Two times release dates have been postponed. It’s a feature-length (132 minute) docu-fiction about the indie film scenario in India made for 300,000 INR approximately (USD 5,000 $). Two books about the film is already available on the internet and the 3rd one is coming soon. Also, the screenplay will be made available for e-book readers this year. It’s been more than 800 days and no one knows the fate of the film yet.

    As a freelancer, Roy has worked with the Jat regiment of the Indian army. The film, ‘Jat Balwan’ (2011), is now available on Youtube by due permission of the concerned authority.

    Skwidge is a young squirrel who was born without a tail. Unhappy with being laughed at because he can’t jump or do things the other squirrels do, he decides to run away from home and find himself a tail.     These bios are generally rather dry, so I thought I’d shake up the format a little bit. Here are ten not-so-interesting tidbits about me:
    1. I despise whipped cream. There, I admitted it in writing. Let the ridiculing begin.
    2. Even though I have lived as far south as Key Largo, Florida and as far north as Maine, I landed in the middle.
    3. If I don’t make a conscious effort not to, I will drink nothing but tea morning, noon, and night. Hot tea, sweet tea, green tea – I love it all.
    4. There doesn’t seem to be much in life that is better than coming home to a big dog who is overjoyed to see me. My other family members usually show significantly less enthusiasm about my return.
    5. Singing in my bestest, loudest voice does not make my family put on their happy faces. This includes the big, loving dog referenced above.
    6. Yes, I am aware that bestest is not a word.
    7. Dorothy was right. There’s no place like home.
    8. All of the numerous bottles in my shower must be lined up, with their labels facing out. It makes me feel a little like Julia Roberts’ mean husband from the movie ‘Sleeping with the Enemy,’ but I can’t seem to control this particular quirk.
    9. I love, love, love finding a great bargain.
    10. Did I mention that I hate whipped cream? It makes my stomach churn to look at it, touch it, smell it or even think about it. Great – now I’m thinking about it. Ick!

    On a serious note, I am so excited to have written my first contemporary romance novels, “Taking Chances” and “Making Choices.” I hope that you enjoy reading about Abby’s passionate journey to discovering her sensuality and the complicated love-triangle that ensues as much as I loved writing about it!     I remember it being a cold, windy day on the beach at Half Moon Bay. We were coming home from camp where I had been a counselor for sixth graders. The sky was overcast, but because we had been camping in the California coastal mountains, we had on warm clothing and good sturdy shoes, so other than keeping my hands in my pockets, I was semi-enjoying the beach.

    The commotion began in the parking lot where the yellow school buses were stationed. Looking back, I think one of the bus drivers must have been informed over her radio, and she passed the dreadful news to counselors and kids standing nearby. The information quickly spread. Martin Luther King, Jr. had been assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee.

    Around me people began crying. I was stunned, but not so much by the news, since from 1963 the United States had been experiencing a wave of assassinations, especially in the ranks of civil rights workers. I was stunned by the reaction of the crowd. At seventeen I learned that my generation was ready to move on, to leave America’s racist past behind. It was a day of tragedy, but it was also a day of triumph.

    As a writer I look back to that moment sometimes, and I think about how important it is to remember that most teenagers do have a moral compass, and how when it counts, clothes, sex, school, social media, and other distractions will be put aside, and our common values will be embraced. I never forget that, for the most part, our children will be better men and women than we are.

    I’m Stan Morris, and I’m so old, Josef Stalin was still alive when I was born in Linwood, California. Growing up, I lived in Norwalk and Concord, California. In 1972, I moved to New Mexico. I met a teenager at college in 1975, set out to score, and have been married to her since 1977. Early on, my wife and I made a deal. She would have the career, and I stay out of jail. It’s worked, so far. We lived in Texas for five years, and then we moved to Maui, her home state. Yes, the weather is wonderful. We raised two boys, both gainfully employed, thank goodness. I worked at a variety of jobs before developing a computer business in the late 1980′s. Now we are both retired and living on a farm. I garden, watch sports, listen to music, read, and write. I don’t make much money at it, so occasionally I have to ask my wife for my allowance.     When it comes to Herakles, Hollywood’s versions of the muscular hero have always rubbed me up the wrong way because they have it so wrong. In Hellenic mythology, the most famous son of Zeus was anything but a squeaky clean, square-jawed hero. According to the Greeks, and they should know, Herakles was a pathologically violent man whose first deed of any consequence was to beat his music teacher to death with the man’s own lyre. Therefore, my first goal in writing this series was to create an accurate Herakles – a hero who had more in common with Harry Callahan than with Prince Charming.

    The second goal was to create a credible Herakles. The legends that surround the son of Zeus paint a picture of a flawed individual whose human weaknesses influenced his life as much as his great strength. His fame draws upon his mighty deeds, but he also committed some horrendous crimes, and often used dubious reasons to justify them. For inspiration, I turned to the great pulp writers of the mid twentieth century; I wanted to make Herakles a hero like Conan the Barbarian, created by Robert Howard, or like Tarzan of the Apes, created by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

    I hope you enjoy my version of the classic Greek myth. It is in keeping with the original stories, more or less. The chronology is a bit askew at times, but Greeks have a vague concept of time and their mythology reflects this. There are some embellishments here and there, and the occasional character that didn’t appear in the original myths. It is a story, after all, and its ultimate goal is to entertain.

    I was born in New York in 1956 but grew up in Mass­a­chu­setts in a Puerto Rican fam­ily, a nice lit­tle cross-blending of cul­tures, and enjoyed the rare gift of a happy childhood—short on drama but long on enter­tain­ment. Things really got inter­est­ing, how­ever, at the begin­ning of my sec­ond year of col­lege when I was ini­ti­ated into yogic med­i­ta­tion. I was an eighteen-year-old psych major in a pres­ti­gious uni­ver­sity, but from the moment I learned med­i­ta­tion all I really wanted to be was a yogi. When the school year fin­ished, I freaked out my par­ents by sell­ing every­thing I owned except my gui­tar and boarded a cross-country bus for a three-month inten­sive train­ing in yogic prac­tice (all things con­sid­ered, they we’re pretty cool about it). When I was twenty I went to India to meet my guru, Shrii Shrii Anan­damurti, and that sealed the deal. Since then I’ve spent my life hang­ing out with saints and yogis and doing my best to nav­i­gate the spir­i­tual path. Exactly how much of their lus­ter has rubbed off is debat­able, but it’s been a fas­ci­nat­ing jour­ney that has brought me into con­tact with some of the great­est spir­i­tual teach­ers of our time and an end­less parade of col­or­ful char­ac­ters in search of enlight­en­ment, enough to peo­ple my nov­els for the next sev­eral lifetimes.
