I was born in the Royal Air Force hospital in Ely in England in 1969. Like other Defence Force children, I spent my early years moving around, attending five different schools including one in West Germany, before I was twelve. Starting high school was a bit like being thrust into a war zone and I has no idea how I got out alive, let alone with enough to be accepted into university to read English Literature.

My most interesting place to live was Market Harborough in Leicestershire, where I found a few things I thought I had lost and rediscovered a keen interest in the supernatural. But my favourite place in the world is at the bottom of my New Zealand paddock, on the river bank listening to the cicadas singing their summer song in the trees, while the resident horse accidentally-on-purpose blows snot down the back of my shirt. The bravest thing I ever did was jump out of a plane on a static line parachute, because a friend asked me to and the dumbest thing, was getting on a different plane with my husband and four small children with a one way ticket to the other side of the world. The most exciting moment of my life was marrying my husband after having known him only 5 months and meeting his family for the first time on our wedding day. My favourite people are my husband, and not to forget my four beautiful children, who are now too big for slapped bottoms but not for kisses.

It’s easy to spend hundreds of dollars on lights…but it isn’t necessary! With the judicial use of reflectors, it is possible to turn one single light into a 5 light setup! AND that one light could even be the sun!

You can get results to rival the best studio shooters with very little cost. Reflectors can even be homemade – so they cost almost nothing.

Filters – for the most part physical “on camera” filters have dropped by the wayside due to the digital revolution.

We still use filters, but now – with many of them – it is after the fact (in Photoshop) rather than in front of the lens. But, there ARE a few filters we still need on camera. the effects simply can’t be easily done (or done at all) in Photoshop…

The UV Filter – This one can literally save you thousands of dollars.

The Polarizing Filter – this one should be in your camera bag ALL THE TIME! The results you will get can take your photography to completely new levels and it is difficult if not impossible to duplicate the results in Photoshop.

Larry Anderson is an internet mogul with the seemingly perfect life: a beautiful, loving wife, good friends, a magnificent country mansion, youth and good looks, a stable of expensive cars, and billions of dollars in property and investments. But while preparing for a Fourth of July bash, that all changes in a flash – literally – as he is struck by lightning. Awakening in a hospital, Larry is shocked to find that he is a flabby, bearded, version of himself living in a modest condo and running a small computer repair business in downtown Burnsville, Minnesota, while his lovely wife of sixteen years is engaged to another man. And he drives a sputtering 1997 GM van.
At first unsure if he’s hallucinating or perhaps stuck in some kind of coma-dream, Larry wonders if he should do anything more than simply wait to wake up. He explores possible explanations for his predicament, but finds none of them satisfying. If it isn’t all a dream, is something larger at play, or is he merely the victim of a cosmic joke?

Elias Zapple was not born in 1922, as some would have you believe. His date of birth is not really relevant anyway. What is relevant is that he arose out of a tulip that was growing in some old granny’s garden in Camberwell. How he got to be in a tulip is not really clear, nor is it clear how he got out of the tulip, and years later wrote the smash hit musical, ‘Love, be a Stranger’, which was an international flop.

After that success, he went on to work as a 19th century Victorian chimney sweep, when he was inspired to write the acclaimed series of books entitled ‘Duke & Michel’. It is believed the fumes from the chimneys did so much damage to Elias, that it was a miracle he ever ate a cupcake again.

Later, he travelled back in time to the present, and went on a series of trips to many foreign and distant lands. During these travels, Elias met and listened to many interesting people, choosing to ignore all of them. He did, however, learn a couple of things: i) the earth is flat; and ii) you should never eat a banana when it’s not ripe.

Many questions are often asked by his adoring public. Are you human? How many chimpanzees can fit inside a fridge? What is that thing growing on the side of your head? To which Mr Zapple has always smiled, turned away and swam off into the sunset; having only once been bitten by an unfriendly shark.

Elias Zapple continues to work towards the unification of Korea, and writing children’s stories that parents will spend huge sums of money on. He wishes you all to know that every penny made from the books will go straight into his bank account, which he will then spend on a lavish, new tent.

Bettye DeLoach Presley is a native of southeast Arkansas. She spent forty-three years of her life in the noblest of all professions. She retired first in 1991 and again in 2011.

Her career in education permitted her to serve as a classroom teacher, a literacy coach,a Ninth Grade Academy Coordinator and an Adult Education Teacher/Site Coordinator. She shared her expertise in the Dermott School District in Dermott, Arkansas, the East Carroll Parish School District in Lake Providence, Louisiana and the Eudora School District in her hometown.

Her love for poetry prompted her to begin writing poems in the early 1990′s. In 2006, she was given the opportunity to publish fifteen of her poems when she co-authored Guaranteed to Cut & Soothe written by Razors & Bandaids, a local poetry guild.

Richard Heredia was born in 1969 in the Canal Zone of Panama City, Panama. Having spent the first year of his life there, he has since moved to Los Angeles, California where he lives with his wife and children.
